    Interesting to hear your comparisons with the Polestar 2. It seems that the makeover improved the range but the interior still needs updating.

      Yes it's a strange choice by polestar not to update the p2 to keep it modern and on par with its competitors.

    Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of changing to the Ex30 from the PS2. I've seen the car but still waiting for a test drive. Hopefully next week. Space isn't an issue but, I am a little concerned about the single screen. I had a test drive in the Tesla and found I got used to the single screen by the end of the drive. OPD is a different matter, I would miss that greatly but probably not a deal breaker though. Thanks again!

      I too think you get used to the singel screen, but would definitely preferred something in front of me. Not a deal breaker. Someone pointed out that Volvo is aware of the OPD issue, I'm sure they will fix it in an update.
      Good luck with the test drive! 👍

    One thing to note, OPD doesn't work when Performance AWD mode is activated, did you have that on? I felt OPD wasn't as aggressive as a Polestar 2 or Tesla Model 3, but still worked well enough to stop without using the brake pedal.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      Ah, I didn`t see that in the user manual. I did have Performance AWD activated, so that probably explains it.
      Thanks for pointing it out :) Now I need another testdrive.

      I didn`t get to test it in this car, but since it has integrated Google maps similar to my Polestar 2 it should have. Google maps integrated with the car works really good btw.

      It's a great car for sure, I really enjoyed driving it. I'm sure they can adjust the opd in future updates. If it was intended to be like that it feels kind of weird.

      @@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere From MotorTrend: "Volvo is considering additional regenerative braking modes including a more aggressive one-pedal mode that could be installed by an OTA update if there's enough customer interest."
      I'm sure there will be enough demand to make Volvo update it.

      I personally don’t like one-pedal-driving but it should be an option.

    2:56 Weird. I did test drive today, and there was definitely a difference between one pedal drive when it was on/off. I could drive completely without using the actual break.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      Strange, maybe it was something wrong with the car I tested. Compared to the OPD of my Polestar 2 there was a huge difference. I`ve heard others complain about the poor regen of the OPD too though. Hopefully it was just a bug with a few cars and something that buyers of the car won`t notice.

    • @osronn

      @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere there was some software update that was released yesterday and car dealerships were not allowed to release cars to buyers until that update was in the cars. The test cars were allowed to have the old version.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      @osronn maybe it was fixed in that update. Anyways, not a deal breaker for me, I normally drive with OPD off. I tend to only turn it on if I plan to drive a lot in the city as I find it smoother when there is a lot of start and stop.

    Polestar 2 software will likely be LTS, they will be working on the P4.. It will be no different once the ex30 is out for more than a year i fear.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      Polestar could do a tech refresh of the Polestar 2 to make it relevant and maybe a big volume car. The P2 would be perfect if they update the center display and run same UI as ex30/p3/p4.
      Also add support for UWB for proper phone as key and wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay.

    You have Performance Pack and presumably appreciate the adjustable dampers, big braking power, and driving dynamics - why not mention how that compares? Sure, EX30 is faster, we can all read a specs sheet - but does it feel remotely as sporty as a P2 w/PP?
    EX30 is a good size, but it caries the Volvo badge. They are built for comfort and this one aggressive on pricing too. I have a hard time imagining they found room in those conflicting qualities to make it remotely sporty. To have it be a valid replacement for a P2 enthusiast while still being a boring (in the most respectful way) old Volvo seems impossible.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      I only had the car for an hour and didn't get to drive it on roads that would challenge it's sportiness I'm afraid. That being said, it felt comfortable and easy to drive, but I would probably not call it sporty.
      I would not replace my P2 with this car, but it could very well replace our Nissan Leaf.
      Compared to the Polestar 2, space would also be an issue. Backseat space is better in the P2.

    • @Vegard-Driving-Somewhere

      You can find the consumption in the spec sheet from Volvo. I believe it is 17.5 kWh/100km combined driving for the ex30 twin motor performance. Add the usual 15-30% if cold winter, heavy headwind, heavy rain etc. Subtract some if warm summer.

    • @Dactylonian

      I agree. Even though 3.55 mi/kWh for twin motor (pretty sure my maths are correct) seems efficient, 64kWh battery gives 227 miles (366 km). This falls far short of the 265 miles (427 km) being advertised for many months on twin motor.
