The Petrol-Hneed something to Karen about .. and all Theis old bl.a. bl.a. is outdated. Hæving a screen is the onky Way to do it in the future - because it*s so flexible. Couple of years ago Tesla changement the Hole setup prioritising this/removing that .. Can you do that with buttons ? - Think not unges the customer need to but a new car.
That was really fun. The editing with references to other reviews and so on is also very good. Lots of information and attention to details. Kudos to Thomas and the team.
It's good to see another offering in the smaller vehicle segments. Volvo has done a good job of coming up with interesting materials for the interior, other car makers could learn from their example. However, using the centre screen for so many of the normal functions is just too distracting while driving. Thanks Thomas & co. for another outstanding review!
Another great review, the only thing I wish you could have spent more time on, would be the many voice commands you can use in place of using the touch screen buttons. I don't know what it can't control, but it seems to control most, if not all functions on the screen. Also, another reviewer revealed a mic button on the steering wheel you can press, instead of saying "hey google" all of the time.
Does voice activation control ALL the car functions. Turn on the head lights, increase heating to 20C, John’s settings, plan route to nearest charger, turn off the rear fog lights
Not sure if it does all functions, but it might. Also, there's a mic button you can press on the steering wheel, so you don't need to say "hey google" before every command. As much as I love this TH-cam channel, check the review of the EX30 on Doug Demuro's channel. He spent nearly 5 minutes talking through a lot of voice to screen commands and I thought it was impressive how much it could control.
@@uhfvideoslaveWe have now cancelled our order for the EX30 we just thought for the money it didn’t really offer us anymore than our present E Niro. The lack of driver cluster, HUD and restricted rear seats, which we experience in the show room, were the final straw. Such a pity as I loved the exterior design and LFP battery tech. Moved on now and eyeing the Kai EV 3 in late 2024.
Question, on a bright sunny day and the driver wears sunglasses, will the sensor have a fit, lol ? A speedo or HUD can easily be downloaded to a mobile phone and placed in front of the driver.
I definitely perfer it firm. The steering I mean. I want to know that the car will move when turn the steering wheel. I really like the direction Volvo took with trying to cut costs and CO2 impact. I hope more companies, especially EV producers, follow suite
Totally agree ....purely from a safely angle no HUD makes this this car potentially dangerous in the wrong hands. Taking one's eyes off the road is never safe..even for a second.
I think the declared 0-100 km/h in 3,6 seconds from Volvo isn't true. I saw few videos on TH-cam with several tries and no one was under 4 seconds, most of them was between 4,20 - 4,50 seconds, same as you. Matt Watson was only person who took it under 4 seconds. So probably it is very hard to reach it under 4 seconds in standard conditions, so for me a bit dissapointing.
The 60 kWh RWD MY and M3 have been shown to be truely long trip horses with hops (distance between charges) of 180 Km at highway speeds. Why can't this 64 kWh volvo?
it will be able to do that. At 275 epa range is right there with the model 3 lfp battery. Volvo will get the adapter next year. Would not surprise me this will be sold with it, because it launches summer 2024.
12:11 it's to fool any pretentious types like yourself. 😅 Think of all that plastic expanse in the frunk, since it's too small... 🤔 actually, would have had much more " co2 savings" from elimination of all that plastic, get rid of the all the hood opening hinges, hydraulic struts, and made the hood a permanent panel that cannot be opened , except for a small door near the firewall /cowl for the windshield washer fluid maybe .
If this were a real Swedish Volvo it would have a HUD and more physical buttons ...obviously the company's Chinese owners think taking one's eyes off the road perfectly acceptable. My money will be going elsewhere.
I really like this Car but for God's sake, why know we need the smart phone to open the damn Car! So much complicated things for nothing, they could loose 1000k euros less by just go for a standard key buy at least they didn't made the gear selection from the infotainment system like Tesla did on the New model 3.
I really dont get the hate regarding the infotainment. Saying hey google to do stuff is really not that hard
I agree, but people love buttons and switches.
these are the same people that praise Tesla but Volvo is bad for doing it
Also, Google's voice recognition is leagues ahead in terms of understanding badly-formed sentences etc.

F.Y.I. there's also a mic button on the steering wheel you can press, instead of having to say "hey google" if you prefer.
That was really fun. The editing with references to other reviews and so on is also very good. Lots of information and attention to details. Kudos to Thomas and the team.
Yes. I really like his reviews
Awesome, thank you!

Nice review. Thanks!
Very useful review! Thank you!
Is the test version the free color? Really pleasant for me
Great analysis! Thank you very much I have made my decision because of your video
Glad I could help!

Thanks for the tips!
So seat height wise, it's not a SUV. Are the seats higher placed than say in a Tesla M3?
(back patient looking for more straight seating position)

I’m definitely saving for this as my next car. In Michigan I think the awd will be fun. Thanks for reviewing!
Good choice!
I really like this car, they've hit just the right balance for me
The wind noise emanating from the door mirrors is in need of attention...!
Geely Zeekr same ?
yes
I prefer the look of the denim finish over the hard plastic, but I wonder how long the denim will last before it starts to look very dirty and grubby.

Same here!
Lovely car, just wish it was a wee bit bigger. Maybe a roofbox would help from longer journeys and holidays
EX30 needs to separate themselves from Tesla with their iPad on wheels.
Please please have HUD!
Totally agree ....purely from a safely angle no HUD makes this this car potentially dangerous in the wrong hands. Taking one's eyes off the road is never safe..even for a second.
I thinks the head up should add
How tall is the presenter?
1.89m = 6'2.5". He's very tall.

He actually managed to get exactly 4s going slightly uphill there according to my stopwatch. :)
Only on the dual motor version. We're testing one today with a view to buy.
Speedo should be as its always been

Its a good car
Smown right hear 😆

Do you intentionality wear clothes that match the car colour? 😂
Maybe 😅!

It's a Mini Volvo

No instruments, no headup display, no me buy.
No joke!
Volvo trying to go Tesla
