"I'm afraid we'll be deviating a bit from standard speedrunning procedures today, Seth." "Yes, but with good reason. This is a rare opportunity for us. We are going to open Super Mario Bros 3, inside of Super Mario Bros 2" "And, potentially, tear the fabric of time and space." "Now, now, if you follow standard ACE procedure, everything will be fine." "I don't know how you can say that. Although I will admit that the possibility of an argument erupting on speedrun discord is extremely unlikely." "Seth doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly trained professional. We've assured the moderators that nothing will go wrong." "Ah...yes, you're right. Seth, we have complete confidence in you." "Well, go ahead. Let him play the game." ... "OH GOD NO!"
You rock Storster!! I love this content. I've played SMAS for nearly 30 years now and it's crazy to think there's still things we're learning about it. My version doesn't have SMW, but I've played it on and off since I was approximately 8 years old. I know the games were originally NES releases, but the 16-bit remakes are so great. SMAS is an SNES staple if you ask me.
Hey Storster, I gave you a comment some months ago about that your audio levels were bad, and your voice was too low. I just wanna say that now your videos are way better in terms of audio. Congrats!! Really enjoying your content!
The fact that you have only 15k subscribers while having such great video quality is insane to me, you honestly deserve way more subscribers and appreciation for your amazing content, I hope it happens one day, keep up the good work :3
Thanks so much Ekster for sponsoring this video! Get 20% off an Ekster Wallet: shop.ekster.com/Storster This was really fun to make as I followed these developments from the very beginning. Seth is still working on this game as you are probably reading this. He has just recently made a new SMW credits warp route that will work on any platform without multitaps.
I find this channel to be way more interesting than summoning salt's. It cuts straight to the chase, doesn't overstay its welcome, and is as accurate and well researched as the best speedrunning channels.
I didn't even know SethBling speedruns nowadays 😮 I used to watch him when he was doing Minecraft Redstone vids back then. Now that I think about it, it doesn't surprise me too much that he's doing stuff like this lol. Great video by the way!
when i learned about ace a while ago i was wondering if it was possible to write code to other games in mario all stars and i am so glad it was, very cool and interesting video.
This ACE stuff is insane, 5 credit warps in 13 minutes, and a legit fucking moonwalk and invincibility code that literally anyone can do. I have no words
For a channel with 20K subscribers it has quality content of a channel with over 100K. Keep up the great work, stay persistent and it will eventually payoff. PS stay humble and grateful
Srorster, you have been putting in work man. I am surprised you still don't have more subs. Your day with the TH-cam algorithm will come. Keep up the great content my guy.
I really dig your song choices, my guy. Your editing is also on point, it made the video super nice to watch. +1 subscriber, I'm gonna binge some of your stuff right now!
The production quality of these videos is SO good, keep up the great work. I love this kind of content. It's crazy cool that SMW can be used for other games on the cart.
Regardless of leaderboard status and all that. The fact that an ACE exploit exists in the All Stars + World version is incredible. Makes you wonder if you can do some sort of 'stop and swop' trick with how versatile SMW ACE is. Kinda like with the N64 Ocarina of Time exploit.
If anyone's interested, here's a link to IsoFrieze's video explaining SMW powerup incrementation, since it's oddly missing from the video description for whatever reason: th-cam.com/video/TqK-2jUQBUY/w-d-xo.html
Amazing work Storster! I find ACE in the retro Mario games absolutely fascinating and had no idea this new development had happened so it's awesome to learn about it! Of COURSE SMW is so exploitable that it can be used to corrupt other games on the same cartridge too... 😂
he said, Maybe one of you would like to try this, at the end. YEAH sure id like to try it, except i dont have an snes, multitap, hella controllers, the game carts, etc. LOL!
Great video but the reason im commenting is because HOLY HELL someone ELSE knows about Brain Lord? When I heard the music in the first segment I was like "Wait, I know that song..." But again, GREAT video!
This is a great video Storster. I really liked your explanations. You did it perhaps even better than SethBling himself. The video was a good length and you kept it entertaining whilst not going into too much detail, just providing a brief summary. Well done 👌 Looking forward to the next Storster production 💪
As of now, there isn't really too much notable in the Advance titles. The games were polished up pretty well. The only notable thing is in the Mario 2 installment where you can use the save and quit feature to get to world 7 faster, but you can do the same thing in All Stars.
i can only imagine how annoyed and happy glitching speedrunners would be having their records absolutely shit on by what appears to be nothing but jank ass movement. reprogramming the win button will never not be hilarious to me in how genius it is.
Accurate and entertaining! It was a pleasure working with you :)
hi Seth!
Seth you’re a madman. Great work on those crazy finds, most of us wouldn’t even remotely know where to begin with any of this stuff!
Hello again, my childhood.
you know when i saw this video i was like oh this is gonna involve sethbling, especially because of some of your other videos lately
Howdy Seth! Do you and Cheese happen to have anything for Super Mario All Stars (No SMW)?
Anytime I see a stupidly massive break and Mario World is involved, I am like, ok where is Seth.
Sethbling: *gets anti-piracy screen with ACE*
Me: *gets anti-piracy screen with pirated copy*
Sethbling: *Wait, that's illegal*
"I dropped computer science for a reason" lmao same
"And since the mention of programming makes me cry nowadays" also same
Software developer here. Can confirm, the tears don't stop after uni...

"Ah...yes, you're right. Seth, we have complete confidence in you."
"Well, go ahead. Let him play the game."
...
"OH GOD NO!"
And then the man went and did it for all four other games.
@@aurastrike How are we still all here.

Using 5 controllers.
LEGO Speedrunners: why are you holding the inputs down with clamps instead of hands/feet?
Hey Storster, I gave you a comment some months ago about that your audio levels were bad, and your voice was too low. I just wanna say that now your videos are way better in terms of audio. Congrats!! Really enjoying your content!
I appreciate you sticking around! I have definitely improved the audio side of things quite a lot haha
The fact that you have only 15k subscribers while having such great video quality is insane to me, you honestly deserve way more subscribers and appreciation for your amazing content, I hope it happens one day, keep up the good work :3
This comment made me actually subscribe. Been watching every video over a couple months and loving learning about this scene.

It blows my mind that you can run code in a game FROM ANOTHER GAME by just playing the game. These guys are actual geniuses.
Your content is on the level of SummoningSalt, you truly deserve more subs than you have!

This is the most roundabout way of writing and executing that I have ever heard, amazing how people actually figured it out

Fascinating! Took a topic I didn’t really know about and really drew me in. Great vid as always!
15:39 "What you will see now is normal 7-2."
*floating with star power*
normal
i broke the cartridge in 10 minutes when i was a kid. speedrunners should call themselves slowwalkers, really now.
I really dig your song choices, my guy. Your editing is also on point, it made the video super nice to watch. +1 subscriber, I'm gonna binge some of your stuff right now!
This has to go viral
I just love how Seth had made this game his clay to mold. He just runs any code he wants really.
hey storster, love the video so much! you're going places, and i'm so happy i can be there to watch you grow :3
What about using ace on SMB1? Having a version of that game get broken to under 5 minutes would be incredible.
The production quality of these videos is SO good, keep up the great work. I love this kind of content. It's crazy cool that SMW can be used for other games on the cart.
Knowing Seth's history in Redstone, I can't say I'm surprised
5:11 that bg music pick tho
You really look like one character I've seen on a movie before.
Keep on growing your channel buddy I'm proud out of.
Those clamps on the second controller are sending me
14:42 WHEN YOU SEE IT NOOOOOOOOO

I have no clue why it took so long for anyone to point that out, cheers. Will add now
Best video game history and documentary of all time!
you sir, need more subscribers. quality video as always man!
Great video, imo this is what you are best at, delving into a topic / story in detail.
My only words are… HOW AGAIN?!
Great Video! It's really incredible how far these games can be broken. Would a Mario Bros. 1 Credits Warp also be possible?
Amazing work Storster! I find ACE in the retro Mario games absolutely fascinating and had no idea this new development had happened so it's awesome to learn about it! Of COURSE SMW is so exploitable that it can be used to corrupt other games on the same cartridge too... 😂
Neat analysis video! Thanks for uploading!

damn too bad i missed out on the release of this video but it was awesome, keep up the good videos man!! we looovvve our speedrunning content lmao
Great video but the reason im commenting is because HOLY HELL someone ELSE knows about Brain Lord? When I heard the music in the first segment I was like "Wait, I know that song..."
But again, GREAT video!
Twice as a kid I've had the game skip to end credits randomly. Can't remember what I did to make it happen, but it was general child gameplay.
What a great way to wake up :) love your content mate, I hope you get many more subs as you deserve em!
Just goes to show how far Seth is willing to go to break games
Amazing video. Thank you for putting this together Find ACE very interesting.
How come there's not more history videos on super Mario all stars
Imagine needing 1 month to break a game, all i need is a couple good throws max.
i saw these videos as Sethbling released them, i hope this will help the tech reach a wider audience
Sponser was very funny shows how slim wallet fits in a huge pocket
this is just absurd
This is a great video Storster. I really liked your explanations. You did it perhaps even better than SethBling himself. The video was a good length and you kept it entertaining whilst not going into too much detail, just providing a brief summary. Well done 👌 Looking forward to the next Storster production 💪
Is there a game genie code that could be used to enable the debug mode in SMB2 that lets you move around in the stages like in this video?
Getting a world record in Mario 3 by… playing Mario World
Your nail polish is so cute!🥺
I wonder just how many compilations have ACE that could effect other games. Imagine doing this in Cowabunga Collection. 🤔
Awesome as always man, thanks. Plus I 100% need a slim wallet so will check Ekster (and use the discount code!)
great vid as usual, keep it up :D
liked that moovie, thx storster!
if you have to use a multicontrol tool it's not an RTA speedrun it's literally a TAS Tool-Assisted speedrun.
babe wake up storster made a new vid
"This mario game was broken in one month" damn i knew nintendo's old stuff was sturdy but damn
Very well done!
SUMMO-one sounds like Summoning Salt 😂
Criminally under subscribed channel
Man beats smb3 without playing smb3
You should use conditioner, it'd be good for your curls. :)
Has anyone done this or ACE on the super mario advance series??
As of now, there isn't really too much notable in the Advance titles. The games were polished up pretty well. The only notable thing is in the Mario 2 installment where you can use the save and quit feature to get to world 7 faster, but you can do the same thing in All Stars.
Shoutout to a fellow Massachusetts resident 😎
Mostly I'm just amazed that RTA viable arbitrary code execution is a thing now.
This is *nuts*
SethBling is such a beast
I saw this on SethBling’s channel, this is crazy
Simply crazy
A month for one game is a long time, usually with a hammer I could do it in about 3 seconds
Video starts with help from SethBling.... yup, this game is gonna get quite broken.
Mr. Bling himself
i can only imagine how annoyed and happy glitching speedrunners would be having their records absolutely shit on by what appears to be nothing but jank ass movement. reprogramming the win button will never not be hilarious to me in how genius it is.
Right?
Epic all stars moment
Is this the only speedrun that you play a totally different game during the speedrun.
Also keep that sub count climbing!
Banger
your so underrated
If this goes viral, I just wanna say I was here day the day after it was uploaded
woah storster, youre using shin megami tensei music!
There's some bangers in there
Tbh i kinda hate smas... the weird delay inputs have compared to the og games always throws me of my game
Love your vids keep it up man
Hey man to comment to get you some extra engagement
????? those timeline chapters????
I think it's the name of the music playing in the background

hell yeah
nice
I don't think it counts as playing the game, so much as it does coding it...
A clamp was used to write this comment
Comment for the algorithm
using clamps to hold down buttons is literally tool assisted rta

Already subbed so I couldn't like and sub simultaneously. Sorry bro :(
