Quick bit of extra info on the frame saves dha managed to get, there was a new strat discovered a couple of months back known as the ceiling bump which allowed for the saving of 2 frames on 26 and 27 each and a new strat on 29 where you hit the button while moving downwards without touching the platform. That TRIPLE tie in Red Ball 2 is insane! What are the odds of a three-way tie occurring in a run that's not completely optimised / exactly the same for everyone?!
Extremely low to say the least, though you obviously can't put an exact figure on it. Being a part of a three-way to to the frame in a physics-sandbox platformer game without any sort of framerule system was indeed surreal.
It's hilarious that "started the race in 2nd gear" has been Todd Rogers' explanation for his Dragster "record." Like, it's so outlandish because, in an actual race, this would be a terrible strategy since the car would be outside of the power band exceedingly longer which would lead to a far slower time. I love that his lie can be torn apart not only by hard, in-game facts, but also with application of simple logic knowing that cars/gears don't work anywhere close to that way.

In Minecraft 1.16 rsg zylenox and reignex got a 14:07 that was so close that they agreed on a tie and the runs are so different and would be great to see analyzed. Great video!
There was a Mario Odyssey race back in 2019 where 2 top runners literally got a frame tie, and that in a big tournament, meaning the race had to be redone to decide it. Immediatly jumped to my mind when seeing the title of this video
Neat analysis video. I do wonder how many of these ties just came down to raw technical skill, as opposed to there just being nowhere else for the route to go to get faster.

Its not quite a tie but recently in red ball 4 volume 1 after 3 months of my holding the record and like 10 since the last time he broke the record itsmaximum finally reclaimed the any% wr with a 2:48.650 and then less than 24 hours i beat it back by a single frame with a 2:48.633

Out of all the current official WR I have only 9 of them are tied only 2 are full game WRS in sd vs raw 2009 and the rest are tied ILS with 4 being in mario bros 2 for 3ds and the other 3 in dadish 1 and 2
