- Super Mario World. No matter how familiar you are with the game, you probably know at least one tidbit about it. Whether it's the graphics or the unforgettable tunes, this game would continue to entertain many over the following decades. Between tiny optimizations and major glitches, today, we’re going to dissect the Human Limit of speedrun Super Mario World.
For anyone curious why I used 9:39 as a starting point at the end : The old 2014 Human Theory TAS has some advanced tricks never done in runs, but also has many things to be improved upon (Japanese version, ghost house, etc). The time is not impossible, but the set of tricks for sure will vary.

This video really shows your improvements in sounddesign (eg. music aint too loud), your editing is smoother and also this video shows your knowledge of this game truly. Great video, it's fun learning about this game. I really do like the way you present the info, it makes it easy for people not familiar with the mechanics. You're getting a lot of comments about your channel being low in views and subs and how you should be getting more, and it's true. Trust me, keep pushing onwards, you'll get a few videos that won't do well but keep pushing forward and do things how you normally do it, don't rush it just keep a steady pace, and the viewers and subs will come. I think you're on track to growing.

As a child, there was a lot of this I figured out accidentally. I think one of the only things I did not know was the credits warp. However, I do remember getting the cloud and orb due to curiously trying out things. I would assume there are others who had done these things, but haven’t come forward. I even knew about the cape and sliding, then entering into the next room to maintain flight.
However, executing it at a constant pace is when it becomes quite difficult. That would require tons of practice.

technically, the fastest way to get to bowser in super mario world is using a modified version of the credits warp ACE setup to put you directly in the final battle; this, the Kill Bowser category, is something sethbling has run, but all this is just incredibly pedantic semantics

Tasvideos has multiple SMW ACE runs. It doesn't allow runs that don't start from power off though
That's not the issue as I understand it. TASVideos' 11 exit category is essentially "any% no ACE", because once you start allowing ACE you can do pretty much whatever you want, and limiting yourself to the cloud glitch is arbitrary.

I don't love the idea of using dirty ram in a Speedrun. I think that a legitimate Speedrun should be started on an empty cartridge and with no purposeful RAM manipulation.

@@natnew32 TASers are very good at finding loopholes, which is why they’re useful in RTA speedruns. A human theory TAS is a TAS that does exactly what it normally does within the boundaries of what is physically possible in RTA in order to give the runners a ceiling and/or ideas/tricks/glitches that might be useful in an RTA speedrun.

I feel like allowing Dirty RAM sets a really dangerous precedent, given that there's a Dirty RAM ACE setup for Paper Mario that piggybacks off of Ocarina of Time ACE that is banned. This also promotes potentially using modded hardware, or damaging your equipment in the process of swapping cartridges.
