Brian Wolfe 7.3L Godzilla ProCharged Foxbody Hits The Track - 1,600-Plus HP Ford V8 Sounds Unreal!

- We hit the track with Brian Wolfe and his incredible 1993 Notchback that has a ProCharged 7.3L Godzilla. Wolfe takes is through the initial stages of testing a new combination. This was the first track test with the ProCharger and while being run on M1 Methanol. Jason Lee does the tuning and we're happy with the results. The sound of this engine alone is enough to make you watch this video.
Man that 7.3 has really got a good exhaust note. Doesn’t sound like much else.

@@brooksmcmath8125 Yes, but this 7.3 got Such a different sound than other Engines with Boost and Zoomies. Quite Unique Sound.
Another winning Ford engine added to Fords list. The Godzilla is going to be a game changer. Wolf is going to win a lot of races with this car. Another great video!

7.3 sounds like it’s barely working! Small engines wind up really quick and sound like the world is ending haha. The big cube engines don’t break a sweat

I like everything I’m seeing from this group, a tuner starting with the basics, walk before you run. A driver willing to make short passes. And they even pulled the safety pin out of the fire system before the runs.

Met Jason many years ago when I lived in same neighborhood as his grandmother I believe. He was installing 5 lug setup on a red Mustang GT in her garage and I was building a Fairmont Futura with a 95 GT long block and a C4. Cool to see all that he has accomplished!

Gotta tell ya, I was super excited when I heard Ford was coming out with a push rod engine again, and when I heard what the displacement was gonna be I thought, “oh yeah, their back in it!” Awesome to see some tried and true old school technology back in Fords corner. Sometimes you have to wait and see before making a decision on these types of things. They built this engine for a reason not just to be a truck engine at that.

1.18 60ft, on a base tune, super fat? Impressive. The car looks controlled and predictable on launch, rather than looking at the clouds, and landing looking at the wall. Very nice.
So much design and work into that car and to see it run great right away with a very conservative tune must have felt great. Can’t wait to see this thing unleashed. Digging the side exhaust. Great job with the video Evan and Abe 👍🏼

Brian is a super cool guy, I use to hangout with a good friend of his Rick Rodgers, even towed the red monster with Rick to a London Motorsports shootout in Onterio. I also had ALOT of prototype stuff on my 86 fox body with a small block ford through Brian. I actually bought a prototype T5 off him, cpu and svo extender from Sam Guido (also through Brian) and many other small "trick" parts I used. I drove that mustang to work daily from Wyandotte to Sterling hts, weather permitting of course. These was the good days and I miss racing in a big way :(

I still have a Crane Cams Intercepter 2. But went the way of an SCT tune with the current setup. Will use it on the next Fox for my kid.
I love that they already have a built 7.3L. Sorry it's set up for the kids track. Can't wait to see one run a full drag race. Can't wait to see the Godzilla motor being stuffed into all sorts of things.
Understand people wanting 1/4 mile, but if you know about the current small tire racing, everything from Ultra Street to Radial vs the World are 1/8 mile now.

Wonder what it would take to fit a 7.3 in stock form in my Jeep TJ. Been wanting to try swapping a 351 with everyone arguing to put a LS in it instead.

Did you have to enlarge them or something?
The BTR intake did have the runners CNC'ed for this engine.

A very promising project. I imagine the Godzilla representing Ford in funny car and top fuel; instead of the mandatory (and boring) all-Hemi rule. Same for GM engines. Back to the golden age of drag racing when brand rivalry was so exciting. Sadly it will never happen... Great video, great car!
Right just like Nascar decided to ban the almighty 427 SOHC 2V Cammer V8 due to the protests from GM and Mopar back in the 1960s.
I have a 7.3 Fix but it's an FE stroker. I like the sound of this new engine it has the sound of an old BB but with the modern injection I'm sure it's better all around. We don't put down but about 570 HP 580 tq all motor.

Amazing machine right there!!!! My only peeve is the fuel cell being under the hood I've always thought that's the stupidest thing you hit the wall nose first and crack that fuel cell and that fuel hits your hot ass exhaust or something smh to dangerous
Understand the concern on the fuel cell, but the vast majority of heads up drag cars have it there, there is a cage around it.

I have started putting money away for a 7.3 with a 10 speed and I wanna get a 1000hp put it in my s550. I'd take 1250hp if it's manageable and safe
