I agree, 3.7L is best sounding v6 exhaust tone I can think of. Some of the ole GM 4.3L V6 sound good, but 3.7L ford so much better than the 3.8L (Stang) /4.2L (F-150) family. Pretty unique. I like that it sounds uniquely like it's own thing. Doesn't sound anything like a V8 we all know, but also sounds nothing like a 4cyl which is awesome.
Str8sixfan the 2005-09 v6 4.0 sound pretty good with a simple muffler delete imo the 2011+ need a muffler to make them sound good. Not saying anything bad about the 3.7 since I plan on getting one soon but my current 4.0 sounds pretty good. Just type muffler delete 4.0 and you’ll see what I’m talking about
I just bought a 2014 3.7, I've been doing a ton of research as to what type of exhaust to go with. They all sound badass but I am somewhat concerned about drone in the cabin. Watching your videos...I value your opinion, that being said what do you recommend? Bang for the buck
3 things, 1. do you want to do headers if so shorty or LT? shorty will give a cleaner more consistently deeper sound, long tube is hard to say because it depends alot on the next factor x pipe or h pipe, but LT can sound deeper at certain RPMs then sound much higher pitched or raspy at certain RPMs, depending on the rest of your exhaust. 2. do you want to go h pipe or x pipe for your mid pipe? and catted or off-road? Imo a catted H-pipe is the way to go if you want a deeper, lower pitch growl slightly more restrictive thus will produce less power. X pipe will be a bit more raspy, tinny sounding but also louder and will flow a bit more freely thus will produce more power(debatable as too how much mainly tied to the last point here) catted or off road: recommend 3. Just how loud do you want it? If you really want to wake the dead then you would go LT with an off-road x pipe and straight through mufflers and it will be loud it will be aggressive but think High revving import sounds like a G37 or something to that effect or you could do LT's with a catted Hpipe and a chambered muffler, as far as specific mufflers I would say you just have to listen/watch a lot of videos of different mufflers to see what you like now when you watch videos of different mufflers I would probably recommend checking out videos on YT of otherwise stock exhausts/cars so your can isolate the characteristics of a specific muffler. IMO after having multiple mustang (V8 & V6 including a 3.7l a few years back) for a 3.7l I'd go shorty headers-catted hpipe and then pick out a muffler IMO Borla has the best sounding mufflers as they have the deepest tone but they can also be pretty loud especially the atak, I personally had the S Type on my 3.7l and I think it produced a great sound even before I did anything else to my 3.7l as it was one of the very first mods I did to it.
