@@CallMeMatt12 did You get rid off stock resonator? I have 2015 V6 Mustang with Roush axleback and wanna put h-pipe. I really like what You did in Yours.
I switched from Corsa Sport Axleback to Borla S-type Axleback, got Mak Performance O/R H-pipe customized to use the stock cats, BBK Shorty Headers, and MPT 93 PRX tune. I was between Roush and Borla. I have to say no regrets what so ever...Borla S-type sounds amazing. Wish I would have purchased that originally.
Great video! I've got a 2015 3.7 with BBK shorties, Roush mufflers, and a Flowmaster X pipe currently. With the X, it definitely sounds better than when I still had the resonator on the car, but it gets a little bit raspy and trumpet-like above 4000rpm (up to around 3500 sounds heavenly though). I'm putting Magnaflow highflow cats on it this week, and am trying to decide if I want to replace the X with an H at the same time. This video really helped me decide since you have the same setup as me (minus the highflow cats). I'll try to remember to make a video of mine when I get it done.
I know its an old video, but Im reallllllly diggin this. Im Borla S Types, bout to do my shorty headers. I wonder how this H pipe would sound with my setup
It's a resonator delete. He got the custom H pipe which deletes the resonators in the middle. He also has shorty headers, stock cats, and roush axle back
ThatBlue3.7 do it bro. I have the Borla Atak’s, BBK ceramic shorty headers, and BBK catted x pipe. I love it during idle and low rpms. But I do have to admit, the rasp is unbelievable. I hate it. I’m looking to swap out the x portion to an h in the near future.
Hey very nice sounding bro! I just checked lethal performance but it says, Removes Stock Cats OFFROAD USE ONLY and Tune Required, how did u kept your stock cats or if i dont have a tune will it throw CEL?
It won’t need a tune since he made it a custom one and ditched the part where it deletes the cats and resonators. So it’s basically just the mid-h pipe with the stock resonators and cats still put
Sounds Great! I have a 2017 Stage 1 Roush... Have Roush axle backs on it... Lots of Drone... How is the Drone with your system if you don't mind me asking?
Roush is very drony. Should get shortie headers to reduce, drone raspiness and it also make the car sound deeper and small hp bump. An X pipe or h pipe as a resonator delete would work to wrap everything together and get a deep and aggressive sound
Moises Collins no check engine codes, which is another reason why I kept my stock cats. But I had this done at a local shop, they had to weld the top part of the pipe and the bottom part just clamped on like it was meant to. Thanks for the kind words!
Michael 17 I’m in the same boat I want my car to sound louder I might get the bbk catted x pipe but it will definitely sound a lot raspier with that as opposed to my stock midpipe
Hey Matt I’m a big fan and I have come along way with a S197 of my own with the guidance of your videos! I saw your video of your exhaust set up (bbk shorties, stock cats, lethal hpipe, roush Axleback) and my question is does your cold air intake help with the sound of you stang or will a stock intake give the same result in sound? Thanks again !
Hows the rasp on it? Currently running shorties, roush ab and lethal offroad h pipe with resonators welded but want to get rid of the loud 3k rasp. Sounds good under 3k but want to get rid of the rasp if possible.
Javier Gallegos unfortunately for the 3.7 once the cats are gone the rasp is extremely difficult to maintain. That's the original setup I wanted but decided to keep my stock cats specifically because of the 3k rasp. If you already have resonators and shorties, I don't know what to tell you other than getting a bigger resonator or changing the muffler.
Not any more Matt...lol I got the same setup except I'm trying to decide whether I want cats on or off my MP. Besides its not my daily so we'll see. Cool videos tho!
how do you get it to pop? I have a v6 camaro and I want it to pop like your v6 mustang. Right now I have a resonator delete and slp loudmouth axle backs
Looney it's my axleback bro, the Roush axleback is an open chambered muffler which causes a lot of pops. Even more with the shorty headers and h pipe. The 3.7 v6 mustang loves to pop when you open up the exhaust. I would say do as much as you can to open up the exhaust because more air flow is what causes pops. If that doesn't help it may be your muffler, they may give a good tone but are restricting enough air to not pop as much. Hope this helps.
CallMeMatt thanx for the reply bro💯 and honestly I think its just a mustang thing to pop lol. I dont see many camaros pop as much as mustangs do, but thanx, ima get bbk shorty headers, cold air intake and a tune and see how it sounds then
Is yours a stick shift? The way it sounds between gears is real nice... do you have a name for the H-pipe? (Brand) and how’s highway cruising? Any drone ? I know it’s a lot of questions but I really like that sound + me and you have the same color stang 🤙🏽
D-Man M its a lethal performance off road h pipe, but i had the h part of the pipe welded on and just ditched the part where it deletes the cats. And it's not bad at all on the highway.
Interior resonance sounds like it might be a bit much for me. Significant other would likely complain constantly when driving the car or going anywhere together.
Sounds great bro! Since you changed the h pipe does it still give you any noticeable gains or is it just for sound and how much louder is the car after you put it on? I'm trying to decide which midpipe to get, I have the s types.
Branden Hines I'm sure it gave me a couple horsepower but nothing too noticeable. It made the car louder for sure too the point where if it were any louder it would be obnoxious, so in my opinion it's just right.
Jose Lopez well if you go long tubes you wont be able to keep your stock cats cause they basically delete them. But you can go catted h pipe, which has high flow cats. My buddy Ivan has that exact setup on his s550, check it out on my channel somewhere.
Easily one of the top 3 best sounding 3.7's on TH-cam. Hands down.
kmt 010 I really appreciate that man!!

Sounds good Matt, not to raspy. Good work.
If you turn on captions, it says music when he’s revving lol
I'm definitely gonna cop this exhaust set up. Nice and deep, plenty loud enough.
Best sounding v6 EVER.

did the bbk shorty headers directly hook up to the letal h pipe?
I know its an old video, but Im reallllllly diggin this. Im Borla S Types, bout to do my shorty headers. I wonder how this H pipe would sound with my setup
it will sound perfect with that setup honestly I’ve heard this guys setup with shorty headers + h pipe and + Borla Sport and it was amazing
can an H pipe from a GT be modified to work like you setup on my 3.7?
Best V6 sound ever. Did you keep the stock resonators and are using a short H-pipe ahead of them or behind them? Thanks.
I’m wondering the same thing

@@DaRealWGamesnah he kept his stock reasonatros on he said

Did you leave the resonators? Or cut those out too?
Post a picture of how you did this.

CallMeMatt yeah I got to get mine sounding like that. Adding bbks to my Christmas list
Drop a link for the H-Pipe please?
Did they cut the small resonators when they wield it to the H pipe ? Or you kept the cats and resonators ?
Have you had any CEL codes Matt? And where did you have this done bro, it sounds nice in the higher RPMs. Good job on the vid man!
Moises Collins no check engine codes, which is another reason why I kept my stock cats. But I had this done at a local shop, they had to weld the top part of the pipe and the bottom part just clamped on like it was meant to. Thanks for the kind words!
CallMeMatt how much did you end up paying for the labor and h pipe? Really want this same setup.
Dude that sounds nice does it sound better in person then the video?? And I might do that setup but I got the borla ataks
Michael 17 yes it sounds way better in person, and with borla ataks it should still sound great!
CallMeMatt or u think the bbk catted X pipe sounds better I want mine car to sound very loud and deep which one do u think is the best
Michael 17 its definitely loud, but what I've seen is that it creates rasp super easy. So you have to be picky when using that pipe.
CallMeMatt so which u think hermano and add me on sc: mp17a I post videos of my cars exhaust

YES!!! Im more of a fan of cats in the 3.7
Have you thought about putting on Borla Stinger s-type axel back? Just wondering 🤔
Sounds great man I have the same setup minus the h-pipe. What’s the name of the song in your intro?
Stefan Wolfe thanks man! The intro song is called "In between" by Beartooth
Can I do this on my 2015 and it sound just the same? I’m sorry if that was a stupid question I’m just now starting to get into cars.
Durex Man not quite the exact same sound due to the way the exhausts are designed but it should be similar.
