Thanks as always Matt. It would be good to see more of how Oculus 2 works & feels with Sketchup. There doesn’t seem to be anything on TH-cam that gives an overall impression of the visual & interactive aspects of SU ‘specifically’. How the picture quality compares to other VR headsets on the market for example? Cheers
Oh my gosh. I got my Oculus Quest 2 not too long ago and when I thought, is there a way I could look at my models through my headset, I am so happy I found your video! I’m about to give this a try, thank you so much for this video and your review 1000/10
Great video-thanks, informative, concise and without the usual narcissistic BS. I’ve practiced architecture for over 35 years (yes-early days drawing boards and scratching out ink lines!) but got into computers and Bim early. About 25 years ago I asked my IT chums when would I be able to go into VR and work on my design in cyberspace - they said ‘not in our lifetime’!!!!……so great to see that I might be able to check that out before I check out!!
Hi, thank you for that video. Did you try the Meta quest pro? What do you think about its capabilities for interior design renders or architecture? Thank you
Sorry I missed whether or not this would be used on a Mac or PC? In general, would you recommend using Sketchup pro on Mac or, in my case, I'd use via bootcamp on my Mac if I start to use on windows. If seems to me as a new sketchup user that there are benefits to using in windows.... advise?
I am personally not worried about Facebook taking my data as google and Apple can be far far worse because they are more widely used. Plus you can fully shut off your oculus so it cannot collect data if that’s your concern. All you should be worried about is the future which is Facebook taking over the market and having the ability to basically brick people’s VR headsets if they do not fit things like their political opinions.
@@MikxPerson Hate to break to you but Facebook is just as equal as Apple and Google. I’ve personally stop worrying because I don’t even believe companies who say they aren’t. I’ve already accepted there will be no true digital privacy
hello from brazil. I wanted to understand, better an oculus 256gb and I install enscape to be able to take a virtual tour in any physical space? Or do I need to have it connected to a computer for this? My question is about taking a client to a physical space, for example an empty house, and making him experience the virtual tour in the enscape in the house.
You definitely do not need 256 gb if your getting the oculus for only architectural vr. The quality of the game does not change between the two storage models.
Not that I know of, but you can plug to headphones via a 3.5mm jack or usb-c cable, which means you can use headphone amplifiers with it. you just need to find one with a balance control.
Hi Matt. A great video about this new headset. Could be interesting to know the performance with heavy files, around 30MB. And have you tried Virtual Desktop with quest 2?
So what is the difference with the Q2 and the Q2 for Business if this stuff can all be done in the consumer edition? It seems that there are no benefits to getting the Business edtition as a designer? Please help I am on the verge of making a purchase..
The difference is the license. The consumer version isn't licensed for commercial use. There are also management software available in the business version to manage multiple headsets more easily.
Enscape has VR capability. It's not "rendered in the same way, but it allows you to view the model in VR. You just need to connect your Quest to your computer with a USB cable.

I'm here to see the design app not being introduced to Quest 2
You’re so right lol
Hi. How is possible to invite friends to the walkthrough in enscape, with the OCULUS QUEST ?
wow! a complete review & guide that even VR youtubers didn't tell us about. great job Matt!

Hi Thanks for the video, I work for a furniture company. Which one do you recomend for showing design to our clients? Can we use the consumer version?

CAD drawings should totally be able to be walked through, but it would just be a luxury event. You could still poke around in 3D models on the screen.
Hi, thank you for that video.

Hi.. very informative.. my question is, will it make me more productive in making 3ds?
doest meta quest pro has hololenae technology,, and is there any inexpensive holo lense in markete?
Great video. Really informative. I'm seriously considering adding VR I to my design practice for showing clients designs, so this helps a lot.
Great video!! Much needed! Any guidance to using Quest 2 with Rhino (vray) ?
Great info! I’m a SoleOp Architectural Designer and this would be so cool for viewing my work.

Facebook Tracking killed this for me. G2 is a great replacement I hear.

Can you use quest2 with blender ? And is it esier compared to mouse or tablet? Thanks
It doesn’t look like VR Sketch has had any updates in the last two years. Do you know if they are still working on it?

What did you discover? Did you find an answer?
Can I use this in solidworks ???
What is the best app/tool for interior designers only?
Thanks, Matt. Well explained. What's the storage you reckon? 64GB or 256GB for Architectural VR?
You definitely do not need 256 gb if your getting the oculus for only architectural vr. The quality of the game does not change between the two storage models.
64gb cause you’re probably going to be using airlink or the link cable most of the time.
what is the main difference between using the consumer version vs the commercial version?
Strange question. I am almost deaf in one ear; are their some settings to adjust volume individually for each ear?

Recommended specs PC !
I like the first quest because of the OLED. I hate the backlight in quest 2. Dark is not really dark! If you are in a scary dark house you need OLED!
What software can you use for design?
Thanks too.. Everything very clear WoW iLiked
id recommend getting the lite strap

The Facebook tracking is a buzz-kill. Thanks for the info; I'll look into the others.
Is it usable offline?
Great point of view on the Quest 2 ! thanks
Anomaly flying in at 1:18. Bro you have a ghost in your studio..
How do I use the steamVR with my Quest2
As an architect which storage should i go for ? Does storage matters???
Sorry to mention. Your video is awesome ❤❤❤❤
If I understand this correctly with the cable we can show sketchup inside the oculus link? Does this also work with render engines like Enscape?
Enscape has VR capability. It's not "rendered in the same way, but it allows you to view the model in VR. You just need to connect your Quest to your computer with a USB cable.
@@Mastersketchup perfect !
Can’t find VR sketch 🤔
How much is Quest 2 paying you for this. Get on with how this tool can help with designing and presentations.
Do you recommend the more expensive Oculus 2 256?
Depends on how many games/apps you think you'll be installing. Most people will be fine with the smaller version
is it compatible whit mac?
Thanks it's very nice

I appreciate the subtle subscribe request
Facebook monopolizing everything and having an excuse like, it's to better your life not ours. it's laughable and childish.
I don't see vrsketch on sidequest. Did it get removed? 😕
I think they host it on their website vrsketch.eu/downloads.html
@@Mastersketchup Thanks!
Great.
I made sure Facebook only saw porn
For architects and designers...... Yeah sure.
Oh, Facebook, That's definitely a no go.
