I just bought one of these. Not only were you extremely helpful, but funny and entertaining. I actually was a bit disappointed when the video ended because it was easy to watch. Most tutorials are difficult to make it through a few minutes.
Yes buy one, now on sale for $199, I was going to get a Quest 3 but it's $500 and the most of the games haven't even been optimised for the extra power and has hardly any augmented games out , Quest 3 is a waste of money at the moment save the $

Great tutorial thank you, I’m almost finished and had been so easy so far and it’s definitely down to your video. I just have one question about after connecting headset to SideQuest? I’ve confirmed email and it’s stung for sign up details. As it was important to register as a “developer” with Meta, I just want to make sure I know I’m putting the right details with SideQuest and that’s the only thing you didn’t cover so being extra caution so I don’t ruin the process at this point. Be so grateful,for a quick reply as I’m very rarely have even 5 minutes of being a tired and stressed out single mum to a 3 year old who decided he didn’t really like sleeping anymore or anyone else to 😒 anyway I digress. So do we chose ‘Gamer’ or ’ Developer’ from drop down menu in SudeQuest signp? Oh and do you have to choose the paid membership to be able to upload to the oculus and not just get videos from your headset like the other apps? I only started this whole process and get Google Earth and be able to walk about in street view lol so . I don’t think that you covered that but I apologise if you did anyway great

My stepdad got one for my daughter for Christmas and it keep saying I have to make a business account. It won't get off the screen can even see the main menu. Reset didn't fix it and I can't find any information to help me. Please help me. This was the main thing my daughter wanted this year and it kills me that it won't work. He got a used one to. They man deleted his account on it and we made a new one. It won't get off the screen there no back button or anything it's says it has to have a business account and you have to pay for a business account

This may be because of a technical error that we are working to get fixed" Needless to say this went on for quite a while (bought this 2 yars ago, trying to set this up for a relative...and got it unusable for me :D . Yeah, way to go!!
Now that these are down to $200 I think a lot more folks will give it a shot. Mainly I’d like to try it with RealFlight Evolution (RC aircraft simulator) and MS Flight Simulator.
I just bought this for my kids for Christmas. IM having trouble connecting the goggles to their individual apps. There’s some kind of glitch. Do u know if the fixed this? Also we cannot cast to our Visio tv. There’s also an issue there. It’s cool, but it seems to have a lot of connection issues 😢
In my honest opinion, the Meta quest two is the best starting point for VR. They just have such a better offering for capability and bank for buck. There are lots of headsets out there and you can get into some serious dollars creating yourself set up that similar to what you see in the movie ready player one. but if you want something, everybody can get and everybody can wrap their head around as far as being able to play with friends and family meta has the best offerings and I think they will continue to surpass. The industry has the best value for getting into VR.
Thanks, I've been researching all kinds and was so mad because I didn't know most of the time what they were saying. You know like 6 DOF...or For devices running v55 or later...or Fast-Switch LCD Display...and certain graphic cards did not work, and 1832 x 1920 Resolution Per Eye , well I know what resolution is on tv but per eye? Makes sense now. Oh and then you had to purchase some $80 cable to attach to pc etc. etc. But anyway you made it easy from beginning to end and I got one. Target had 'em on line for $239 , E bay was $259 and Walmart for $269 So Target won this time. Am very happy with it , was easy like you showed and was playing right away. Only thing I didn't like was having to put my card number on line. Thats just a rule I have and I never do but they don't take PayPal or whoever so I might have to get a different account for a different card to use on internet. Because I don't see any other way to to complete the quest 2 download to buy games. But still I gave up on buying one until I saw your video. VR is really cool and fun so Thanks

No, you don't need a smartphone at all. The quest 2 comes with its own build in hardware for processing games, but you can connect it optionally to a pc if you also want to play pc vr games.
when casting to any device it shows everything you're doing on the quest 2 whichever app you go in or whatever, the only thing it doesn't show is if you're in passthrough mode. Then, it doesn't show the camera the background is black on the casting, but you can see your surroundings on the headset.

Well you don't have to be super tall for games, but if you ARE too short that you can't play properly, you can go to settings and enable height adjustment so it makes you taller in-game. There's also not THAT many great games that are free but you can get some really good free games like Rec Room, Gorilla Tag, ROBLOX, and such. And no, you cannot get extra memory but, don't worry. VR Games aren't very large in size so even 64 GB is way more than enough, unless, you really just plan on downloading half of the marketplace 😅. Also, about the roomscale and stationary modes, it's perfectly fine if you use stationary in like standing positions if you can move in the game with the thumbstick and such but for games like Job Simulator where you need to physically move around your room you will NEED a roomscale mode. And also, in games like Gorilla Tag, it's just almost impossible to play while sitting you have to move around with your actual arms so you have to be standing.
The oculus Quest 2 or Meta. Is a great concept. It lacks in a few areas. One is battery life. After an hour or hour and a half. It needs to be recharged. If you know how install a better battery. Do it. The battery will last a lot longer. No. 2. The chargung port. After about 6 months to a year, the battery port has a tenancy to fail. If it is used daily. The reason i say this. Is I bought a quest 2. My grandson loves it. So now its his VR. The battery and the charging port both failed. My son replaced them with a better battery. More durable charging port. So if you are the the market for a Oculus. Watch out for these issues.

Should be rechargeable instead of Batteries for that price and as much as it'll be used.
