My dad still has a nitro Mt! It now has a t3.0 engine. After the. 15 died a few years ago. I have looked at other rc at the time and this was the best by miles. It's a shame they never made anything decent after this and have almost died off. Early/Mid 2000's was the Hpi days for sure.

This reminds me of how there seemed to be hardly any hobby-grade RC cars around the early to mid 90s. The closest I ever came personally was this dual speed car from Toys R Us that ran off of one of those yellow 7v packs. Even that (relatively) cheap and slow toy was super fun back in the day. Me and my dad used to build RC and control line planes, which was awesome but they were all expensive and you needed a place just to fly them. I remember going to that park in BK, same one in a recent video you did, and seeing a nitro powered RC car for the first time. Up to that point I only saw planes with nitro motors so I was instantly obsessed with getting one but sadly we could never find it for sale anywhere lol. It was this neon green buggy looking thing and the guy running it was complaining about how unreliable it was nonstop but I'd still buy one to this day for the nostalgia alone haha.
dude, did you know they have banned all RC of all types at that park in BK (gateway park). I went recently, got swarmed by a couple parks cops right away, (I guess they didn't care about my HPI nitro rs4-3 drift) ahahah. And yup, back in the early 2000's is when I rem the first few brands like CEN and XTM try to compete with HPI and Traxxas. Although for the price the CEN and XTM were not even cheap, and performed badly, and were hard to buy anywhere. Although I found an old XTM on eBay recently, gonna video that soon.
I get I’m 3 years late. But I just ordered the last parts I need to run my dads mt2 g3.0 and his tool box full of extra parts and tools. I been watching videos of these running 45+mph while being fuel efficient and reliable. I cant be more excited over some rc car that’s older than me

I love this stuff and I love comments about others getting nitros! anyway, I have other videos on this same model and it hit 50 MPG stock with the G3.0. You just can't kill it. Check my channel for some more vids on this model, the modern version is called the bullet BTW. I love vintage nitros, with proper care and maintenance they last FOREVER!!

hybrid32494 yeti aftermarket parts are everywhere. I put hardened steel diff outdrives from the yeti on my mt2. No modding and they’re slightly longer so the dog bone doesn’t have a chance to pop out.
ok, i'll be sure to look for those If I need them. Currently this thing is fine and it's still running the nitro motor. I like this chassis for a brushless conversion honestly.

oh yes, look at any basic nitro 1/10 scale and even many touring car sedans from exceed and redcat. ITs the same chassis layout, almost identical. Just check the Exceed rally monster (I have one), it's the same. She radio tray design, same engine location, same servo setup, etc.
you got it!! as you know I already need a clutch LOL. Basically have another one of these and the whole clutch and roller pin setup is not the best. The clutch spring probably got softer over time and it seems like it prematurely is engaging.

hahaha, YUP, all the great speakers and RC's in boxes really do the trick. ahahaha. Oh did you notice that wooden SAUNA in the background?? This is just my basement area though, where all the filming and weight lifting happen, ahahaha.

what is the highest spur you'd run? I'm thinking 17 or 19t on my wr8 nitro with the g3.0 which has a similar chassis.
