Great video, haven't watched your videos in a few months been busy so got some videos to watch now. I have been eyeballing the HPI firestorm to replace the Traxxas slash. I had a lot of problems with Traxxas breaking every other tank of fuel

If it's 2wd you can put some larger diameter rear wheels on, that's get you up to 50 easy. Won't work in 4wd though! Also some aero foams as well as the box starter back plate (no drag from the one way) would further add top end. Lastly can you shorten the coupler on the exhaust? Or find a shorter pipe? Nice clip

Hey man, it does not appear to be the same size fuel tank. The Kyosho GT two has a larger capacity tank, to be honest with you any buggy style fuel tank will work in the kyosho chassis. They are basically all similar.

Hey man, I know exactly what you mean about trying to get dog bones or pretty much any parts of the drivetrain for this old model. You pretty much need to get a spare parts chassis in order to be able to really drive these like they were meant to be driven, and that means running rich and loud like I did in this video.
it's funny you call them vintage lol....I purchased one new when they first came out... I did a full alloy upgrade including a picco engine.

You need to blatantly call out RPM on their a arms and true track suspension. I’m giving my tmaxx a chance. But the revo, you’re so much better off keeping it stock. I would’ve just don’t the shock parts. It now resembles being junk instead of a fine built race machine

@@hybrid32494 - Yeah, I definitely think the HPI Mt2 can hit 50MPH np. Yeah, maybe little taller gearing, wax the body for less resistance, etc. I had one of these trucks back in the day when I had the electric version with a 2 speed baby. Very cool. Set the standard for all other nitros for me.

hey my dude! Yes, I'm always amazed how great this .18 engine is for the price. Think about it, it's only like 110 bucks. Is rated at over 2HP and runs cool with good power. If only it came with a nicer anodized head it would be a real HEAD turner!

Anyway back to your scientific testing, the top speed blew me away on a flappening way. Did you remove the centre drive shafts or the front drive shafts or all three?

At the time of my response to your comment which is about 3 hours after you posted, there are exactly 50 comments on this video. So far good old FLAPPYJOCKSTRAP has left me hanging, haha! Will need to reply to some newer comments I guess. I only removed the center driveshaft going to the front, so I could have done more to reduce some drivetrain frictional losses.
@@hybrid32494 well yes that’s correct if you remove the front driveshafts you will increase top speed and GO QUICKER. speaking of going quicker I can see you got the video down from 18 mins to a snappy 13 mins! Well done! But you can still go quicker. All you have to do is remove the front driveshafts from the second video and the third video should be exactly 8mins which is the optimal video time for both monetisation and viewer engagement hahahaha
