I truly appreciate everyone who has supported my mission. I love you all thank you!
I have found that everyone suffers with addiction in different ways, we just suffer from a drug one. I journeyed my detox/ withdrawal off heroin from day 5 all the way to the present. I have journaled many experiences and have shown many of my stories on my channel. During this process I have learned much and continue to learn. I have found that we addicts need new people, places and things for sure!
People Overdosing and dying from addiction is real! I detoxed off heroin and know what its like to be stuck and not be able to stop using drugs. Intervention is sometimes necessary because I know the mind of an addict first hand. The way these drugs feel consumes the addict and they cannot think of stopping and follow through without proper help from others.
Addiction can be overcome. Cocaine, alcohol, benzos, adderal, ecstacy, opioids, heroin, steroids & mushrooms are just some of the drugs that I have tried. I wasn't addicted to all of those listed but I have experimented with these. The war on drugs is stupid and the stigma on drug addicts needs to change in order to help the drug addiction issues within America.

I started doing drugs 18 years ago as a teenage. Got addicted to meth. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Meth addiction actually destroyed my life. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 4 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them again, either. I wish there was a good, organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

It's really both. Trying to get high but most importantly not trying to get sick, once your tolerance gets super high you start mixing your opiates with other downers like benzos and booze just so you can get to that level of comfortably high

I was on 90 mgs for the past 11 years. I’ve been detoxing, coming down 2 mgs, every 2 weeks- for a while. Will be at 71mgs when I go back to pick up my take homes & dose, on Thursday. Starting March 4, I will be getting 4 weeks of take homes at a time. So, that will change my detox, to 2mgs, every 4 weeks.

@@germanschokolade64 You can do it and get off of it if you slowly taper down. Never go cold turkey or relapse. You'll do great. Been nearly 2 months for me without methadone and feel amazing. No longer a slave to it. It's great. But you know your own body so you'll know when the time is right to get off of it.

      @truthfactmysteryfictionfan7138 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@Jeremy Mitchell And for advice, just taper off of it slowly and not too fast. Try going down 1mg per week or two weeks. It may take time but eventually you will be off of it.yes the first couple of weeks without it feels a little odd but it's not bad at all. I just had very minor chills, a little bit of craving but it's very minor if you taper down slowly.

Same methadone saved my life. I use to live check by check and never had money saved. Now 2 years into methadone I have more money saved than I've had ever. My family is so happy with the man I've become. I'm so happy to wake up everyday and not being sick having to call my dealer and hope he's got something for me. I know I have to eventually get off the methadone. Hence why I'm watching this video. But methadone saved my life. I can go on vacations and bring my medicine with me and not worry about detoxing.

8 years on methadone. Never a end in sight. If I knew then what I know now, NEVER EVER would I have started at the methadone clinic. No actual counseling, therapy, nothing.... people set up for life taking methadone every single day forever. I'm on week 3 without methadone and it has been straight HELL. Doing it on nothing but advil and muscle rub. It didn't take me a day to turn into a pill junkie, its not going to take me a day to feel better. Have to remind myself everyday(several times a day) that I got this.

Been on methadone fir over a decade and was mostly clean the whole time but I can tell you right now the only way I would ever recommend something as painful as methadone is if you are in the most desperate of situations cause methadone alone has cause more agony and suffering for me then I thought humanly possible. Also never ever take a Suboxone or Subutex if you're on methadone you will experience the worst withdrawals you've ever felt.

I got on methadone at 18 went straight to 125 as fast as i could Im now 34, 2 kids and dont want yo be on itb anymore. I've slowly gone down 1mg a week to ehere im at now at 29 mg!! I'm scared, nervous over home all the west down to 18 mg threw the bottles out, went 2 days and then went right back to the clinic.
Methadone is such a strongdrug, mentally, physically, spiritually. I've lived since 18 in a fog. I'm only realizing this as I get lower and my emotions are coming back.
I'm really excited for my future.

I went through cold turkey withdrawl from methadone. I was on for four yrs. Had those round ones the size of a quarter dollar & scored to break into 4 pieces I guess for lack of a better way to put it.
July 2018 until September were all withdrawl. Day one puking all day. Then the constant heart racing. Time dragging, not sleeping to the point you pass out at like 3-4am for maybe 2 mins. Wasn't even sure if I really did nod out for a one minute or two. Can't get comfortable. Everything comes up in your mind at night. Mind racing everything negative done & problems in your currently life. Brushing my hair hurt. Water hurt cold & hot. Crushing sadness to anger in a matter of seconds. Pur friggin hell.
I didn't believe people who went through it that it will get better. But, you do. It's a methodical process. You'll know when you're turning the corner. It can be accomplished. Don't lose sight of that even at your darkest moment.

@@oceanark77 I had a horrible experience with Suboxone like I even waited the full 4 days like I was supposed to and checked off on the Paul's chart and everything I was in full blown withdrawals. I should have been okay. The doctor said she gave it to me and and 20 minutes later I was on the side of the street getting an ambulance call because I was so sick. I was about to die like I don't think I was literally about that but I felt like it. So they said some boxing just doesn't work with some people. So just know that you're going to have to go like with Suboxone. I think they make you go almost a week or two without it. You can't have anything in your system until they give it to you. I am so glad that there is a channel out there with awareness of people on methadone. However I'm sure that I am one of the few still pulling through that have been on methadone straight for 30 years and that is not counting 21 day detox I'm 54 and started this crazy Journey a month before my 18th birthday. I was beautiful young had the whole world ahead of me but didn't think that way because I came from a toxic environment in fact my dad was my weed connection so that started me off in a turbulent environment and then my step dad was an abusive alcoholic so basically didn't matter where I went there are bound to be some type of drug anywhere and everywhere I went except for a few of my friends homes. But I have survived I'm still on method on it's been 30 years and I am what you would call a rarity when it comes to a counselor in all counselors at a methadone clinic however I would have loved to have gotten off 1520 years ago and that's the downfall they make it too easy for you to stay there you get too comfortable and you stay there and that's a very very sad and dangerous element.🙏🏼🤷🏼

You are so right. Channels like these educate you no matter how wise a person thinks they are. I and many like us are constantly looking for ways to rid ourselves of this shit. I hold my hands high and admit that I have been weak over the years. Lost count of how many times I relapsed. I started heroin in late 96 early 97. Started methadone in 99 so was using both 65ml and heroin and anything from 100 to 150mg of vallium daily. Quit heroin in 2008. Relapsed for a month in 2016 when my long term wife died. Hit the vallium again but down to 10mg a day and was locked at 10ml of methadone from 65 for years. Couldn't budge from 10ml. Since watching these inspiring vids and reading inspiring comments from fellow addicts (whether successful or not) has gave me a plan that I pray will work. I got a 1ml syringe and reduced to 8ml last week. On Tuesday. In 2 days time when I collect again I. Ll drop to 6ml. Then 4ml the following week. Maybe even try going to 2. But from either 4 or 2 I plan to try using that 1ml syringe barrel to come down 0.1ml at a time. My pharmacist tells me 10ml is easy to jump off but clearly none of them have felt the consequences of a sudden jump thankfully. Like this guy I was caught between a rock and a hard place. I hated heroin in the end but had to have a substitute. Methadone provided that and allowed me to break free from the H lifestyle. I'm pretty much a loner but at 50 years old that doesn't bother me that much. I need to do it for me to be any good for any of my loved ones. But shit I very very much underestimated and/or didn't understand the consequences of methadone. So, I. Ll give it my best shot and hope I succeed. I truly respect anyone trying detox whether they succeed or not because trying Is better than resigning yourself to fate. Love and respect from the UK to anyone around the world stuck in this rutt. And to those who make vids like these that inspire others.

I'm in the same boat- 11yrs now - so I've been on methadone WAY longer than i was on pills. I only started goin to the clinic bc I got addicted to methD on the street in an "attempt" to quit pills on my own. I was in college &worried I'd eventually get arrested, so I went the legal route. I've come down in spurts over the years - slowly - decreasing 2mls a wk (was on 160mls, then 100, now I've recently gone from 70 to 50) &w/this last decrease I'm determined to keep muscling thru it, since I'll never likely _want_ to detox out. The lower I go, the more I worrry how detoxing will effect me, bc I always double my dose, then skip the next day (I've got takeouts) &am _still_ buying a lil extra on wknds. You can't really ask the clinic staff etc those types of ?'s w/o getting in trouble, so I guess I'll deal w/it when it happens. I will say to those not on it, the longer you're on MD the less motivated &more depressed you feel... almost like you're completely empty...but that's NOTHING compared to how u feel when you're w/o. It's also impossible to imagine that you'd be able to be naturally happy, or excited, about things w/o it... even though you don't feel joy w/it, anyway. Guess it's a never ending cycle. Ok, I'm rambling. I'll stop now. Lol

@@lizp5004 I understand Liz. The whole thing really messes with your mind tapering like that and wondering how long it will take and how to feel normal again. I ended up going cold turkey from 140 to 0. If you ever really want off it and feel good about it maybe you should consider that, because I was very similar to you with the addicted mind set, and couldnt really taper and would always want more and sort of just be unsure of myself. At one point I didn't know how or if I could really ever live without opiates, but I could. Coming off cold turkey is a very viscous hell, but once it's over you will off for good. I had to move out of state so I couldn't relapse. It might not be an option if your in an area where you have connections and what not because the torture from the withdrawal becomes to much cold turkey sometimes and if you have connects you will probably use them. I was on methadone for over 10 years straight and was using heroin/fentanyl and crack on top at one point while drinking every day. I now take nothing at all and am super healthy and on no medications for anything either. I workout every day and have a beautiful house and family. You can do this Liz if you want to. Exercise and eating right will help BIG TIME with the depression and anxiety of post acute withdrawal. Its a journey, but it's very rewarding.

As someone who is on methadone, and has been on methadone for 22 years, I often look back and wish I had tried harder to get off opiates before going to methadone. But I have to remind myself that I am having these thoughts with a clear mind and a productive life because of the methadone. I agree with his statement that I really didn't want to get off, and the methadone was a way to keep getting the opiates without all the negatives of the streets and the constant need to find money to buy opiates. It has given me the ability to have a productive life, but I don't expect I'll ever have the strength to get off. I admire those that do.

6yrs on it and I would never recommend to an addict unless it's a last resort and they truly want sobriety. I checked off both boxes and once I started I regretted it. I would not recommend as a 1st step to get clean. The clinics only care about profit and always recommend going up in dose rather then recommend staying at your dose alittle longer then decreasing. I had to demand they reduce me. I much rather had detoxed from pills then ever get on methadone again. Today is my first day at 0mg, had to tell clinic to discharge me because they were completely oblivious I had tapered myself down by 3mg a week, then by 1mg a week, I had a year to get off. I had a date set and it arrived yesterday so thank you for posting this video. 24-48hrs is bs I have fast metabolism so I show symptoms at 24hrs after dose and it's down hill or up hill rather from there. And I'm working warehouse work on top of it for major package delivery company so I have no choice but to be OK. If I can't manage and work ill be forced into rehab but they won't take you if you don't come up dirty so I don't know how ill survive this month but I'm determined to return to my normal self one day. Keep spreading information because there's very little real experience information out there. Big pharma spins it so addicts fail and they profit. Your life is worth the fight so please if your struggling and reading this you're not alone.

That's a great story! You figured it out! You're smart! Good job!! Are most people really working the program? Or are they using methadone as a crutch? Does the program try to ween them off eventually?? I have a methadone clinic next to my house, and I'm starting to see more homeless activity. People hanging out nearby, sleeping by the dumpster, etc. Do homelessness and addiction kinda go together? Because you do end up losing your job, life, etc. It's a powerful drug that just takes over! Good job at figuring it out you two! I got of alcohol and adderall 5 years ago. It was about a 3 day withdrawal. but man....getting off meth. That sounds brutal!

Think carefully before going to methadone. If you don't plan long term maintenance - consider going cold turkey off opiates. Methadone withdrawal was much worse than H withdrawal for me. I was in withdrawal for about 45 days (paws) until I ended up going back to heroin because it was unbearable.
I don't want to scare anyone but know the risks before you're in too deep.
A very slow suboxone taper ended up the cause of my sobriety. To anyone out there struggling - sobriety is possible. You can do it.

Weed will settle your stomach and help with sleep. Understand these things won't make you not withdrawal but they will take the edge off slightly. You may be able to sleep a couple hours which is worth more than gold during withdrawal. I usually take naproxen in the morning and at night, magnesium and weed before you try to sleep. Protein shakes whenever you can get it down.

A gradual weekly taper off of methadone is a great way for someone that is serious about getting clean from opioid/ opiate use physically. Phycological counseling is a must to combat the daily mental battle of needing that daily intake to get through the day. THAT is TRUE RECOVERY. But you have to be done with the old and ready for what your life is truly intended to be. The mental battle is not easily fixed with a replacement drug. It's defeated by defeating it's desire to distroy itself. Be proud, because it's a true fight and test of your true strength.

Methadone program gave me my life back in so thankful for it I never felt high stayed at a low dose just made me feel normal doctors say our brain s are permanently changed after getting high ,unfortunately we'll never be the same I get what your saying its a tuff road but you get your life back to a point that you give yourself that month or 2 to recover the methadone
