Love the rig man. Followed the build from the beginning. I live not far from you up in dawsonville ga. I'm currently building a 1st gen expedition overland rig
I attempted engineer pass back in June. The snow was still too deep. I had to turn around about 2 miles from the summit where the bulldozers were working to clear the road of 6’ high snow
It was still closed in July, it’s technically still closed today. I did it last year though. Said I would never do it again in the Excursion…but was totally prepared to do it anyway had it been open.
@@freedomworx we went up in a ZJ in the early 90s when I was a kid. I took my kids in my Avalanche. Being from Houston they had never seen so much snow.
Wow that was one scary looking road! What would of happened if someone were to be driving in the opposite direction, who would of had the right of way?😯 It's bad enough seeing that road could of broke off the edge anytime! Anyway, thanks for taking us along that was some beautiful scenery, now I don't have to go in person.😁
Well most of those roads have been there for many decades, so they aren’t likely to fail if they haven’t already. But there are lots of places that you just have to back up to find a good place to pass. Technically, the driver going uphill has the right of way, but you have to be flexible and realistic, because sometimes the driver with the right of way has a much shorter distance to reverse to find a good spot. Generally everyone yields to me on the trail, just like the biggest boat has the right of way in the water 😂
У меня экскурсия 6.8 на 35 дюймов колеса , я его бережно эксплуатирую , по шоссе расход 17л/100км в Сибири, единственно долго ждать запчасти и дорого выходит доставка из США
@@freedomworx I wrote in Russian that I have the same excursion only 6.8 and I like it , it has 35 inches on tires and it consumes from 17 to 35 liters 😀, they live in Siberia of the Russian Federation , spare parts only on order from the USA wait a very long time
@@freedomworx sounds about right. I installed the square style F250 mirrors on my excursion and it is night and day difference then the old oval style mirrors that came on "Big Bertha".
I got 15MPG with 37s, weighing 11,000lbs fully loaded. I put the tent on there and it knocked it down to 12MPG. That thing is a giant sail on top of the truck 🤦🏻♂️
That’s not a Georgia boy problem. If you haven’t been tested for sleep apnea, you might want to consider it. Thick neck and big chest make you a prime candidate. Be careful brother. It’s nothing to mess with.
I actually do have sleep apnea and wear a CPAP. I’ve just been slacking on my fitness for the past few years. I just made some fitness and diet changes to hopefully get the combat chassis back in serviceable condition. Thanks 👍
Sarcasm my friend. If tried to hike it or bike it, I’d have a stroke. I’m from Georgia, I can’t take a piss at those altitudes without losing my breath.
Love your Excursion. Love the videos! I stay for the dad jokes!
I appreciate it. Dad Jokes are my Super Power 🤓
Love the Excursion!!! I watched the build series.(engine and axles).
Awesome. It's a lot more fun using it than it was building it 😂
Any reliability problems so far
Nope. 20k miles and lots of offroad with no issues.
I love this area of Colorado and i love your excursion. Exactly what i want to do with my family
It's a beautiful area with so much history.
By far one of the coolest overland rigs on youtube
Thank you sir 👍
Awesome scenery. Beautiful.
Some of the best in the country 👍
I live in Colorado and explore the Alpine Loop and a bunch of offshoots, you chose a beautiful location! 🇺🇸
Yep. It’s one of my favorite places to be 👍
Awesome stuff brother. Got me motivated and I’m taking the 7.3 Super Duty ASAP. 👏🏻👏🏻
Send sit!
Just found your channel…subbed and liked……that excursion did great……from LA….Lower Alabama…….have an F-150 for over landing…..
Thanks for the Sub. My wife is from Montgomery County, and her parents have a place in Gulf Shores, so we spend a good bit of time in LA.

Thanks for watching. Don’t see a lot of early Expedition builds 👍
Bout time we got a legit edit on here. Looked like a fun trip. Hate I missed out.
Definitely updated chefs this yeah 👀
Leveled up in food and down in camera man. 😂
Can’t argue that…
I've watched your build videos but I'm missing what you did for the center console?
It’s in this video: th-cam.com/video/F8KN7akP62E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0IYYG1mxbSlf4gjV

Nice 👍
Thanks for taking me on an adventure my excursion may not accomplish.
If you have 4LO, you can probably do it.
@@freedomworx I got 4Lo. Maybe one day.

@Dredd042 cool 👍. I probably wouldn’t want a diesel if I lived in Siberia 🥶
I was wondering how easy and how many back up/ pull forward it was gonna be to get out of that camping spot.
5 without a spotter, 12 with a spotter 😂

I might upgrade if these ever get broken off.
What size tires are you running?
37x12.50x17
How much would you charge to build one of these ?
$100k minimum
What center console is that
It’s a Tuffy Console with a Desolate extension on the front of it. It’s designed for an OBS Truck or Bronco, but I made it fit.
I know the 6.0 is not as good as the 7.3 but dam I got 17 mpg on 33" tires

Hahaha yeah I got the v10. That 12-13 mph has nothing on my 8.3 mpg. Say 9.3 but I get 8.3 lol
She thirsty 🥴
u accomplished driving up a mountain... hella accomplishment... hike ot or bike it for a real accomplishment 😂
