Man, that's nice. I have an '01 limited with the v-10 that I've owned for about 15 years. I'm gonna get it back on the road, your video has inspired me. As far as accidents in the Ex, I got rear ended by 3 cars and all it did was bend my trailer hitch receiver. Felt like a slow shove. The thing is a darn tank!
That's great! We are happy to be inspired. Or maybe we are just passing on our inspiration from the things we love! After Alex was rear-ended his fear of something happening to his family became too close to reality he had to find something indestructible. Good luck with your Excursion we hope you'll tag us in the progress on IG.
@@JustDriven Will do! Thanks!
That monster is taller than some houses I've been in, carefull not to fall from up there!!
Alex is going to need a step ladder. He's about the same height as Kevin Hart (or so we tell him).
Nice!!! Looking forward to seeing this thing in action
It's going to mow over everything.
That’s huge, there is nothing like that in Australia!
You have houses in Australia right? It's about that huge.
@@JustDriven 🤣🤣🤣 yep
Man this guy can talk.... 😂 Nice truck. ❤
Thankfully around the shop he mostly keeps his mouth shut.
He looks like an Excursion driver and I mean this with love. All excursion owners understand how to balance family and fun and love doing it. At the cost of the wallet lol
Alex had to throw his wallet out. There's rarely money in it anymore. Thanks for the support!
Love my 2003 Ford Excursion! Just purchased a 2003 Excursion with V-10 4x4 Limited! Way better than any SUV out there!! Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Debating on 7.3L or 12 Valve Cummins with Allison Transmision.
However, the V-10 is a very tough engine! But it loves the gas...
Best thing you can do with your Excursion first...enjoy it while you do all the little routine maintenance on it. Once it's dialed in then start to dive deeper. As for your swap ideas...you can't go wrong with either.
Finally, an auto video with real music.
Heck yah!
I’m from Santa Clarita glad you found one in our town!
Alex loves it. He doesn't usually get pumped up about a new vehicle but this thing just has him so psyched.
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed!
"kiddos stay apart" AMEN brother AMEN
Thanks.
So much trouble, so much money to get a diesel, when a v10 6.8L will run forever, with proper maintenance!!! Yes, will drink a little bit more fuel, but who cares?? With the money you put on this engine, you can run a v10 for years!!
Alex wasn’t opposed to the V10 since he had one before in the RV he used to tow with to the track but he really wanted that clickity clack and the torque!
Diesel will last longer
The diesel won’t spit spark plugs out of the block after 100,000 miles
V10's are absolute garbage
@@chancekoehler7578 you must have never owned a vehicle with a V10
Guys, what's the channel/intro music? Amazing guitar riff.
It's a song called Truth Will Win by Carvings.
@@JustDriven Fantastic, thanks!
What would you recommend for a GMT800 Suburban Z71 4x4?...
It would depend on your intended purpose. A lot of planning went into the execution of Alex's rig.
Apocalypse means “revealing of knowledge” (Greek), the word you intend is armageddon.
According to the Oxford dictionary Apocalypse is:
noun
1.
the complete final destruction of the world, as described in the biblical book of Revelation.
2.
an event involving destruction or damage on an awesome or catastrophic scale.
So we stand by the thumbnail verbiage.
@ So you support the religious people at the dictionary who hijack words because you’re a dimwit. Apocalypse means revealing of knowledge and that’s all there is to it. Greek existed several thousand years before the Oxford. You just ain’t bright enough to think chronologically.
@ Also, are you really not bright enough to know the Greek civilization existed before Abrahamic religion?
Name calling isn't really showing us you're some highly intelligent person pal. If you're trying to start some internet religious war you can sell crazy someplace else, we are all stocked up here.
@ I’m not name calling, i’m describing your poor intellect. As for my intellect, my name is spoken in every university on earth. You’d live in the stone age without me and my family. All of humanity uses our inventions every day, everywhere.
I like how you just ignore the point about chronological reality.
Need to use rotella t6 oil in the 6.0
Thanks for the tip!
@@JustDriven I have had far better experience with Valvoline premium blue co-developed with Cummins. Owned my Ex for 11 years and she runs way better on the valvoline the last 3 years than the Rotella the previous 8
What'd you end up spending?
Alex figures this is hovering around $12-15k.
@@JustDriven that's really not bad, does this include labor?
It does not.
@@JustDriven I'd love for you to make a video about pros and cons of the build. Additionally, after having it for awhile what your feedback is on it. Does your shop do these often.
We still have a final video to finish up for this build. It's as complete as it's going to be for a while. So we will add your input to the video and hopefully you'll be able to catch it when it drops. Our shop typically does older domestics, JDM cars, and movie cars. The off-road vehicles come our way every-so-often and we love them. This particular build is the shop manager, Alex's personal vehicle (one of them anyway).
Hay, he had a subaru . 😅 . Remember them damn commercials.... " shoulda bought a subaru" .... and thats why you're alive bud.
Now he has a tank...Just needs some metal off-road bumpers and he'll be even more solid. The accident really opened his eyes, you can even still see his tire marks on the wall!
20k? damn. I paid 2k for a 454ci suburban same miles. 8:50. they dont have airplanes in asia? slow boat from china lol.
Maybe the Excursion market is a bit different than the Suburban market? Yah, Alex mentions Japan so China wouldn't be supplying boats. Typically they are exported on containers and those get held up in ports, so airplanes don't really enter into it unless we pay a premium to air freight.
9:38 I cannot find this video you are referencing…. Any idea where to see it?
Yes, of course. It's @Logan King on TH-cam and the video is "Steep Rocks & Crazy Rain..."
@@JustDriven interesting, all I see from him is a hooked up Lexus. I’ll keep kooking
@@JustDriven ohh I did see this but doesn’t mention an excursion. Doesn’t look like it’s his build, but it’s someone else. Cool thanks thank for the tip.
The information Alex has dug up on his Excursion he gathered by finding him on IG and messaging him specific questions. Sorry, if that was not clear in the video.
@@JustDriven got ya, thanks for the tips but ya, that things I dope. Can’t wait to see what your turns into.
Very nice Excursion you are putting together there! I'm a big fan of those & the SuperDuties, especially a black Limited Edition with a 6.0 diesel! Nice score! They are only getting more expensive and harder to acquire in decent shape. 👌🏻👍🏻🛠️🔧🔩🛢️🔥💨
✊🏻🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸✊🏻
Heck yah! Thanks for the support and the kind words. The next video shows off how bitchin' it looks currently. The final video will reveal the beast after some seat time.
With all the money that you put into that thing you could the same thing with any large suv. Maybe you forgot its still a ford nothing special.
What large SUV would you have chosen instead?
I get it, he’s supposed to check with you on which vehicle he should buy, you know so he has your approval.
It’s kind of your fault then, since you didn’t communicate that to him before he bought the excursion.
@alboneta7821 the internet will always be right yet somehow always wrong.
You don't know what you're talking about. That truck is easy and cheap to remove all emissions. Try doing it with a new truck.
All he needs is a state of the art GPS.
Some people just like to hate, I would have personally chosen the hummer h2 with the 6.0, as I'm a gm guy, but excursions are also on my list for must owns, I think the hummer h2 is gms excursion, even though they have suburbans and yukon xls, the hummer is built much more tuff, the h2 is more reliable than the h1, more interior space, more aftermarket engine support, nice lift options, and nice lux options comes with 35s and lockers stock
