    Awesome James. You sold me on the interior, and the systems of this fine passage maker. How about the exterior? And a sea trial? I would be interested in knowing how the 40 tracks in a following sea? And is it possible to to single hand this boat in a trip to Alaska?

    Really glad to see this kind of video being made. Sure, he could be a bit more upbeat about his presentation, but he did deliver in a well spoken and easily understood tone. I would have liked to see a bit more movement of the shots, to help give a feel to the flow of the boat, and maybe a bit of a wider lens used - the field of view was a bit narrow. Otherwise is was great to get to see the interior and some information about the boat. Excellent little sales pitch. Now all the models please :)

    I enjoyed the sober presentation, too bad these craft are not manufactured in the USA.

    Love this boat.
    I wonder if Nordhavn has any with a blemish in color somewhere, that they would be willing to let the boat go for say... $300K
    LOL

    Did you notice that there's no mention of the fact that the Nordhavn 40 has NO helm seat? Nor is there room for one. You have to pilot the boat standing up, unless you use the autopilot. I find that shocking, given the otherwise superb design of the boat, and other Nordhavns. What on earth were they thinking?

      @billiondollardan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never been in a Nordhavn but I've watched several walk throughs of 43s and smaller. I don't think I've ever seen a helm seat. That might get old, eh?

    • @carlose6010
      @carlose6010 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff Puha Under way I think its common to generally use the auto pilot and keep watch. Though Im sure they arrange to fit a custom captains chair aswell, would be nice in heavy seas for sure.

    Engine is smaller than my Yanmar which is on my 30-foot '47 Ed Monk. Plus you are lugging 1,200 gallons of gas for those ocean voyages, which is another 10,000 pounds, and going 7 knots. I'd rather burn twice the fuel at 14 knots and reach my destination with the same amount of fuel in half the time.

      @seikibrian8641 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Let's see you take your 30-foot boat from Seattle to Honolulu at 14 knots. Go ahead, and let me know how it works for you.

    THE VIDEO WAS GOOD BUT MAYBE HAVE A COUPLE CUPS OF COFFEE FOR THE NEXT ONE ! ALSO IS IT TRUE THERE IS NO CAPTAIN'S CHAIR ? THAT'S A DEAL BREAKER . ONE OTHER THING IS THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ENOUGH ENGINE FOR THAT BOAT ! THERE MUST BE OTHER OPTIONS ON THE ENGINES . RIGHT !

      @carlose6010 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MICHAEL SUDZIARSKI Im sure they can re-arrange the table, and outfit it with a comfy Captain's chair or two. It is nicer under heavy seas!

      " IS IT TRUE THERE IS NO CAPTAIN'S CHAIR ?"
      The 43 and up have captain's chairs, but the 40 doesn't. At sea you can keep watch from the pilothouse settee, and get up from time to time to adjust course. When maneuvering in close quarters you stand at the helm.

      "THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ENOUGH ENGINE FOR THAT BOAT !"

      Plus, look at the boats ability to passage make in the real world, 7 knots or so is very good for blue water, it compares well against big sailing yachts and the big engined power boats generally don't go out if it is windy, they wouldn't try and cross the Atlantic that's for sure. Bigger is not always better...

    Actually I am glad that he is not jimping up and down, or dancing like a TV commercial actor or actress just because he/she is eating a piece of chocolate or drink a particular soda.
    I always wondered about those TV commercials and asked myself how come they keep on shooting such idiotic commercials. I guess when the buyers are idiots the commercials target the right buyer quite correctly.

    • @adrian17cy

      He's actually the founder ;) It has the so called "silent enthusiasm", same that could be found on Henry Ford, that's why he looks bit sleepy.

    • @gorgeous3325
      @gorgeous3325 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Al Martinez, actually you're close! The commenter below you is incorrect, but I can see where his confusion lies. I believe Jim is the son of James Leishman, who is the Vice President & one of three Nordhavn owners. Jim, the less than enthusiastic man in this video, is in fact a Sales Representative for Nordhavn.

    • @gorgeous3325
      @gorgeous3325 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      adrian17cy, this man is not the founder, although he is a member of the Nordhavn family. You're thinking of owner/VP James Leishman. This is likely his son. This "Jim" Leishman is profiled as a Sales Rep on Nordhavn's site. You can see a profile & photo of him, and the much older "James" Leishman on the website as well. I can see where you'd be confused though!
