I'm just a truck driver but I've worked alone for years and driven through all the remote areas in the lower 48 through every blizzard imaginable. Being an owner operator I always had to prepare for ease of maintenance, longevity , and having a platform that was versatile for on Road, Offroad, mountains, cities, etc, etc. Likewise I always enjoyed packing my truck with all the proper tools and necessities to handle equipment breakdowns and or for when I would get sick in the middle of nowhere. Except for getting stuck in some of the remote areas during a blizzard with no cell phone coverage, help is normally just an hour or two away but even though I'll never be able to afford a ship like this I can really appreciate the redundancy and planning that was engineered in building this ship. Also just because I will never be able to afford a ship like this or maybe even just a Lake power boat, I appreciate the opportunity to watch videos like this and I'm excited for those who can afford it and travel the world.....its still fun just to watch!!!
I have a cold as well and just a company driver but have been in some storms etc my self. There are some similarities to driving s big rig and yachting. The trip planning and prepping after home time for the next several weeks out. Making sure I know where I can park this monstrous thing if the 1st and 2nd choices are full up . And I can really appreciate the wind shear difficulties when I have to manage something over 70 ft long in 20 to 40 mile a hour cross wind. If I get lucky with the lottery will be the only way I'll be able to own anything more than a bayliner or pontoon boat .watching these videos is s great ..dream builder for me
As a boater of many years, it is supremely enjoyable to see a ship, this Nordhaven 60, that is designed without compromise to be a no-BS world traveler. Damn, what a dream to be totally autonomous, captain of your adventure, with a ship like this....

In my mind these are the absolute best vessels for the water. Whether you're just putting around or traveling the world you are safe. I did want a sportfish. I desperately wanted a 42-foot Hattera. As I'm getting older I think the nordhavn is my best choice

This is one of my dream boats. The Krogen Express, the Kadey Krogens, as well as a few others. Outer Reef, or the company that made Venture. I forget their name. All great comfortable homes on water. Thank you!
Very nice! Nice on water, one handed docking, pilot house is nice and has table and double bed too. Did not show salon or galley or suites. That is on the "features video" and I was disappointed. Salon very plain, not fancy. Very good fuel usage and 100hp wing engine is more efficient too. 1.5M basic basic cost. Thanks for sharing.
Captain Steve, you blow me away with these reviews.... I hope to meet you someday. Our Yamaha 255 FSH Sport E will be in this week, hope to see a review from you!!

I always enjoy videos from Boattest. What’s bothering me is when he talks about the fuel consumption. How can an engine consume 2.0 gals at 3.7 knots, jump to 12.9 at 4.3 and down to 4.0 gals?
I am a sailor but getting on in years and would love to change to a motor yacht soon. I admire Nordhavn but the single side deck is a problem. In northern Europe we have large tides and often have to go though locks and tie up alongside walls. You do not always choose what side you are going mooring to, any commercial vessels get first choice. Even an offset second narrow deck would work but I guess you would need to buy a new one to get that. That brings me to my second problem😀.
Always liked trawlers more than many in size and class . Long trips require 3 major things , planning , large amounts of fuel and large cold food storage . internet not needed , satellite TV is free , not fast but easy on the fuel burn and sea worthy .
The smaller one's emitted frequency is reflected by water vapor and used for clouds/rain detection (weather environment). That water vapor is transparent for bigger one's frequency so it is used for land/ships detection.
I know this has nothing to do with this video but, what is a birth keeper supposed to do? I saw this term used when you guys reviewed the outer reef 700.
Tony & Susan here, Someone left two 2x4 pieces of lumber in the engine compartment. I am Sure that pissed off Jeff. Susan said they may want to add on to the boat.
After reading about the N120 debacle I wouldn’t buy a new Nordhavn. They don’t maintain enough capital to finish the boats on order, relying on the deposits for subsequent orders to fund the finishing of your boat. Based on what they found behind that beautiful wood finish on the N120, I would consider a used Nordhavn if the problems had been addressed. The details of the N120 were disappointing to read.
Building a hull from light polyester and than have to ad ballast, about strength , A steel hull with a kind of ice class is much stronger and no need for ballast .For me the Bering approach is a lot more logical for me, still a great vessel !
You're absolutely right. There are only so months of the year, and depending on schedule, demand and if the manufacturer wants us to test the boat. For a complete and up-to-date archive of all our test you must check out boattest.com.
Tom Craddock the Fleming 65 does not have as standard the fuel storage for ocean travel. 2000 miles at 8 knots means going via Iceland Greenland Canada into north America as Tony Fleming himself has done many times. I would still have the Fleming over the Nordhavn for the Kudos factor. Just have to plan the trips more carefully.
I believe the NEW price of this yacht is around $1.5 base price. A fully upgraded with Jacuzzi on the boat deck, twin diesels and tons of mechanical upgrades like Nordhavn Jupiter was around $2.5. th-cam.com/video/JPZiZ8E8fRQ/w-d-xo.html Used they hold value really well, still you can get a great deal on one. In my opinion the boat will outlast the owner.
Optimistic Future Yes it’s very nice. They posted a walkthrough and sea trial video already. Great boat, perfect size for a lot of people and a super value.
Fleming and Nordhavn both make nice boats. Fleming’s do have more power and better performance, but they pay fore the extra power with a higher rate of fuel consumption. Both are nice, just depends on one’s priorities.
