Arrowhead hunting TN - Buck creek cache? Or just a bunch in 1 little spot?!

  • All the pieces in this video were found over a period of about 3-4 weeks, all within a relatively small area roughly 30' wide. The last piece in my last video was found there as well and is similar in style and shape to the last one in this video. I found 2 other broken buck creeks that did not make the video as I didn't film their recovery. It wasn't until later I felt I should start recording everything I find here, including the broken pieces, in case its something significant like a cache. Possible cache? Or just a coincidence this spot all of a sudden started spitting them out like this? If more come from here, i'll be sure to share! Let me know your thoughts and as always, thanks for watching! Please like, subscribe, and click the bell to get notified when I release a new video.

      That’s my thoughts too. Hunting that spot over the years has only produced 1 or 2 buck creeks. Out of nowhere I found all of these, plus a couple broken ones not in the video, all in a relatively small area. It just seemed too coincidental to me! Haha thanks though buddy. As always I appreciate you checking it out!

      I hear ya man. I think stuff like that all the time when I see some of these artifacts. The quality and or the material used is so nice, I would’ve been too proud of it to use it if I had made it! Haha I’m sure it was a little different back then though, when survival counted on these artifacts.

      That was part of my original format, but I quickly realized that by doing that, I created quite the stir! Haha if I labeled an artifact as something, 5 other people would chime in with 5 different thoughts on what it was… which led to it getting a little out of hand at times! These days I just display the artifacts as best I can to let people make their own conclusions. But for this video, I believe all of these to be buck creek projectile points. Thanks for the input, and for taking the time to check out the finds!

    Well you just never know don .here in Colorado in the winter camping areas we sometimes find that sort of area an a lot of times I think it could have just been a small camp .I mean out here you get a couple ft of snow and anything you drop is soon smashed into the mud and is lost even to those who dropped it and when those areas finally erode out several points or tools can be found and as heavily forested as your area was for thousands of years I'm sure the same thing happened out there sometimes all it takes is a good leaf fall and that old camp might be hidden from. Then on anyways who's complaining nice finds !

    Man there is a good possibility that is a cache. Seeing as how similar they are. I remember a few years back, a guy posted some videos on here of finding a buck creek cache on the banks of a river. He found a bunch of em over the course of two or three trips and some good rains. I don’t remember what channel it was though. I think he found over 25. There may be a lot more to come in there.

    Given that shape, I think it's called "turkey tail", it makes you wonder if a bunch of those were made by the same man.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      First off I will admit I am not the id’ing expert. But of all the turkey tails I have, they tend to come in slightly at the top of the base instead of being straight the whole length of the base. Like I said I could totally be wrong though. My specialty is finding them! But yeah, I wondered that same thing. Most of them have similar qualities that makes it look like the same person made them. Good stuff. Probably a cache that washed out when bank came down 50 years ago. Says buck creeks are 10 to 3 thousand years ago. Covers a large area. Must have been a good place to hang out back then. Lot of good points can come out of that site one would think. Have you found different points in this location? I would wear that site out. Ha. Have fun be safe.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      That site hasn’t really been a big producer for me up until now. I have found 1 or 2 buck creeks, an elora, and some adenas there over the years. Few and far between though. Then out of nowhere I started finding a few of these every time I went there in a relatively small area, over the span of a few weeks. It just seemed odd to me, especially for that bank. Thanks as always for the input buddy!

      I’ve hunted it for years… I’ve found 1 or 2 bucks there over the years. But all of a sudden they were just coming out left and right. For a while there I was pulling a few of them every time I went there. It was just odd that they all of a sudden came out in droves in a relatively small area. I haven’t found anymore there in the past few weeks. Could just be a coincidence, or maybe someone’s stash finally spilled out?! I’ll keep going back for sure to keep on it!

      Just my old iPhone 11! I have it set to record in 1080p at 60 frames per second to keep the videos smooth and crisp… And I’m constantly tapping to focus. If left up to the camera itself, it would be out of focus 1/2 the time! Haha My newer iPhone 13’s recording ability is awful compared to the older phone.

    Man! Why grab the tiny artifact? The big one was right next to it! Go get it and send it to me. Ill make you a killer point. Wonder what that material is??? Any knappers out there from the area know???

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha man, no way you’d take the chunk over the artifact! Really?! Hah Sorry, I don’t know my materials very well, so I’m no help in that department. I see tons of neat and interesting chunks of various materials while out hunting. There’s one place in particular that seems like it was a manufacturing site or something. Flakes galore, along with softball to cantaloupe size rocks. Most of them have chunks taken off of them, revealing a totally different, and beautiful inside (core I guess you call it) to it.

      I live in Nashville, but travel anywhere within an hour or so in any direction. It’s so all over the place, so I just say “middle TN” as a broad answer. Ha But where you’re at is a great area. Lots of stuff down there, especially the more west you go from where you’re at.

    Why are people claiming a cache? Not a chance. It's just a good site. Not taking nothing away from the area. Or your finds. Those were definitely not found together.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not saying it is or isn’t… all I know is that site hasn’t been a big producer for me over the years. Out of nowhere all of these were found within a small area. Within the span of a few weeks I found all of these, probably 3 times what I’ve found there in the past couple years. It just seems odd, so that’s why I was posing the question as a possible cache. Thanks for the input though man, I really do appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and giving an honest opinion!

    • @Points365

      A lot of people that watch my videos, myself included, like seeing the small details on the artifacts. Since I don’t give any kind of input on my finds, I show it up close, and from every angle to let people come up with their own conclusion as to what type of artifact it is. A lot of times I don’t know myself, so peoples input really helps me out. I have a video coming out later today that I think will be more up your alley.. it’s more fast paced and one find after another! Haha thanks for checking it out and for the input!
