    You are the most informative arrowhead hunters I have followed.
    I have been hunting for Indian relics since 1961 and in that time I have found 7 arrowheads, 7 scrapers and flint knives searching hundreds of hours in folds in northeast Illinois in streams and fields.
    I am now searching near an Indian burial site that has all the variables that you mentioned with little results finding a partially made arrowhead and a flint knife.
    Good luck with your hunting.

    I'm extremely blessed. I lost my honey hole last year due to land selling but then became great friends with someone who has a large rocky feeder creek to the Wabash river. Long story short I was able to get in the creek for a couple hours in November and found a couple brokens. I'm itching bad for spring to get here. He doesn't hunt the creek due to it being down a valley but he found a nice dovetail in his yard a couple years back after 5 inches of rain.

    Mountaineer here as well "parkersburg area" , have been binge watching some of these older videos on nightshift at work and stumbled upon this. Im really glad i did because we just got permission earlier in the spring to shed hunt a few giant fields that we happened to see a big shed laying in from the road. It ended up being a really nice side by side match set. This field probably 20 acres+ in size has a large snaking creek right through it, may have to check it out this summer now that ive seen this video and realize that is probably a good area. Keep up the videos love them!

    I agree guys, creeks are great spots to look in& around. I also have decent luck kayaking in bigger deeper rivers where banks have collapsed or washed out, especially on river bends. You give good advice. Happy hunting!

    Great tips, I really enjoy yalls videos. Creek hunting is a little different here in Louisiana due to not seeing very many gravel or rock bars.. Most of the creeks have to many Beaver dams for that. I usually just look for patches of exposed dirt near the creek. Also, check the cut banks. If you come across a bank that's several feet above the water level give it a good once over. The banks erode and you can find points sticking out of them or laying on the slope about to be washed into the creek. Be sure to check any root systems from trees growing on the bank...they like to trap points sorta like a gravel bar. Same goes for any fallen trees near the creek. Check the dirt clinging to the root systems and the hole where the roots were ripped outta the ground. Dirt piles from animal burrows along the bank are another good spot. Happy hunting and stay safe out there

    Whenever I'm riding or driving in a car I ALWAYS look at the creeks as I go across the bridges. Like you I prefer remote areas. I've found that creeks that have decent planted fields beside them tend to be good hunting areas. I was a union roofer for years and we'd get lots of rock from Kansas or Oklahoma rivers. After putting that rock on the roof I'd always walk it like I'd walk a creek. Founds lots and lots of points that way. You never know where you'll come across a point.
    When I was a kid my grandfather told me that if I ever seen a field near a creek that had ANY small humps on it, to search around the humps. He was right as rain. Btw, the nicest, most pristine points I've ever seen and continue to see come from a small creek in the middle of a city of 54,000 here on the western edge of Mo.

      Oh & BTW, I am actually planning on a "get your boots at a yard sale" trip! Haha! I'm totally inspired guys... I think I'll even grab someoveralls if I see them at the same yard sale that I get my boots from! It's gonna storm tonight and I'm excited... I live in South Texas in San Antonio and there are HUNDREDS of creeks, rivers, lakes, and ponds so close by in the outskirts of San Antonio where I'm from... So you guys can probably imagine how many hidden treasures there are out here...one of my favorite places to hunt & find tools for arrowheads & points is Park Chalk Bluff in Uvalde, Texas. That is where I found my very first arrowhead ♡ The Nueces River is BEAUTIFUL! And It's even mapped with a Historical Marker. This place is so full of Indian History...you can feel it. Anyway I can go on and on lol! Thanks again! - Manda c:

    I love creek hunting, the points are usually so smooth, it's just hard to find points that aren't damaged. I'm in central Texas and that's where I usually have luck (creekbeds). And it's about that time, I can hunt for points and "sheds" at the same time. And if I don't have any luck, hey the white bass should be running any time now!

    You two are fulla crap! Hehehe. Excellent vid. Places look a lot like my hunt club between Mt Gilead and Ellerbe, NC. Creeks, rivers, bottoms, lots of NA history in the area. The ever dwindling number of old men in our club really like a nice rack, but a quality arrowhead carries more "braggin' rights". My freezer is still half full. I'm thinkin I'll be lookin at the ground a good bit mo' this season. Thanks fellas! And apologies if I've ever hadta run ya off the hunt club. d:^)
    PS-Nice axe collection as well. Izzat a l'il PRS influence I'm seein' back there along with that triple humbucker Explorer? (possible geez moment)

    All good tips. As far as the "take a buddy to prevent boredom". That's fun at times but more often I would go it alone. I'd grab my fishing pole or a gun. Or two. Or do some mushroom hunting in between gravel bars.
    What's boring to me is digging a cave.

      @AvnGal… Unfortunately, we don't have any specific tips for hunting in your area but we believe our tips on this video should be useful anywhere... Understand the types of flint in your area and look for evidence. You will know it when you see it. Good luck...

    Your advice sounds like my typical hunt..
    Nice Hartke rig by the way.. who's the musician?
    The only other tip I might add is when you've exhausted all possibility of more surface finds on a rock bar, a shovel can come in handy along with a screener..

    Great video, guys. Nice tips and well done. Oh, you forgot one tip: get a good stogie! (By the way, with all those guitars on the wall you fellow should be able to crank out a good tune. Let's hear some).Thanks!

      @SenecaRelics  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @wadowman... I wish we would have thought of the "stoag" tip during filming... We would have included it... All you get is a sample of our music... Put it this way: The intro music at the beginning of this vid is NOT Van Halen... Thanx for the comment...!

    cool video guys, i have always wanted to find an arrowhead in the creeks and have tried for years but never even found a piece of flint in a creek yet haha. im in Washington PA right on Greene county line, if you would ever wanna come up this way and try some creek hunting id love to tag along and learn a few things and maybe find my first creek artifact! my fields i find all my points in are right along a creek but i still have no luck in the creeks, but i know they gotta be in there.

    • @SenecaRelics
      @SenecaRelics  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @PAarrowheads.... Thanx for the invite to hunt in your area with you. We may take you up on it sometime. We will consider it.... If you are finding points in fields next to creeks... Then points will be there. Look again.... and again... Good Luck...

    I thought you guys did a great job! Very nice info. What do you think about the actual rock types in the creeks. Small rocks=no points and big rocks= points? What are you thoughts

    • @SenecaRelics
      @SenecaRelics  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BandRocks... Great point and we agree... We have noticed that we find points relative to the size of the rocks... The Larger points are usually in the areas of larger rocks. (We believe small points are there too but buried by rubble and not visible).. Small sandy pebble bars usually do not seem to trap points. We have discussed this theory. Thanx for the Tip..!

    Hey guys just subbed and love the videos, I'm new to hunting arrow heads, and getting my 12 year old daughter interested as well . Can you please give me a list of some tools I can get that you guys use to help us be more successful thanks

    • @SenecaRelics
      @SenecaRelics  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BK33... Tools...? Hmmm.. That is a possible topic for us to use on a future vid. Thanx for the tip... But the only actual tools we use are good waterproof boots, a homemade claw-stick, beltpack for water/snacks... and maybe a good lighter. (but your daughter shouldnt need that...) Good luck to you and your daughter...! Let us know how you hunts go..!
