  • Another compilation of finds from earlier this year. A number of these pieces i've been excited to share. For as old as these artifacts are, it amazes me that they can still look so perfect with every little serration still in perfect shape! I got a few good additions to add to the G10 artifacts case! Thanks for checking it out and please comment to give your input on any of the artifacts. The last one in particular i'm not too sure of. Don't forget to like and subscribe!

      I’ve gotten to where I try and hunt the sandier and muddier areas near me as opposed to the rocky areas. Rocky areas are just so rough on artifacts! I still find wayy more than my fair share of broken pieces though. I typically don’t share the broken pieces I find unless it’s something really unique or odd. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

    Love that you used the old tune Cumberland Gap as the music for this video. Here’s the lyrics….
    Verse: Me and my wife and my wife's pap
    We all live down in Cumberland Gap
    Chorus: Cumberland Gap, Cumberland Gap
    Mmm, way down yonder in Cumberland Gap
    Cumberland Gap is a noted place
    Three kinds of water to wash your face (Chorus)
    The first white man in Cumberland Gap
    Was Doctor Walker, an English chap (Chorus)
    Daniel Boone on Pinnacle Rock
    He killed Injuns with his old flintlock (Chorus)
    Lay down, boys, and take a little nap
    Fo'teen miles to the Cumberland Gap (Chorus)
    I enjoy your format for your vids. What you find says a thousand words!

      Thanks man, I really appreciate it! I enjoy a good modern artifact every now and then. That’s one of the thing I myself enjoy about hunting the waterways, as I’m sure you enjoy as well… you literally never know what you’ll stumble upon out there! I’ve found everything from chainsaws, abandoned boats, wooden whiskey barrels, coins… I was even unfortunate enough to find the body of someone that had been missing for a couple months. At least it brought closure to their family… still an unpleasant thing to encounter though. Keeps us on our toes out there for sure! I think I set a personal record.... Wasn't even 45 seconds into the video before I was cursing you. Don't worry, I was able to save enough to throw out a few curses later on. 😉Wow! That one with the "window" in the middle of it. So dang cool. We had our share of translucent Ohio Flint Ridge material where I lived (about 60 miles distant from Flint Ridge), and I've seen translucent veins and squiggles, but never a "window" like that. Nice. Also, I never found as many serrated points as you do. I hunted the fields hard, growing up, but maybe only found a couple that were truly serrated. I do understand I was hunting in cultivated fields, where they were "tumbled" by farm machinery, but dang! I also learned one very important thing tonight... Don't watch your video right before trying to go to sleep. Not tired now! Great finds. Thank you for the video.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow man… 45 secs… that was probably because you were tired. Took you a while to wake up enough to be worked up! Haha But yeah the one with the window in it as you called it, was pretty interesting looking. Too bad it was dinged up, but still video worthy! I agree though.. almost all of my field finds have shown signs of damage in some way. The sandy banks produce some nice serrated pieces for me! Wait until you see the needle tipped, serrated piece I found half buried in gravely dirt in my next video! It oughta be good for a solid swear or 2 out of you!

      Thanks buddy! But hey man… that’s the way it goes for me too. I’d say at least half the trips I take, I come home empty handed. Persistence pays off! You’ll be on em eventually!

    Again awesome finds. Was that last one a Benton? Wonder the purpose of indented stone. Keep safe and keep looking. Waiting to see that Cumberland you will find.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks as always buddy! It definitely has a benton like look to it, but it sort of had a kirk or buzzard roost look to it to me as well. I’m torn! Ha The stone with the indention on both sides.. I always heard those were hammer / grinding stones. The indention happened from constant use where a hand was grabbing the stone. It fits perfectly in your hand! I’m with you though man… I’m still waiting to see that Cumberland myself! Haha thanks as always buddy!

    Great saves as always!!! A lot of teeth on that hunt!! What type of boat do you use? Thinking of trying that , just can’t access places on foot. Thanks

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha I was trying to think of a title for the video that somehow incorporate the amount of teeth, but came up empty handed! I use a good ol flat bottom aluminum boat. I can hit rocks / logs without missing a beat! Plus it’s light enough to man handle when you get it stuck or need to pull it up on the bank. Thanks for coming back to check out the new round of finds buddy!

      Haha maybe I should throw a tape measure into my daypack! It’s prob not helpful at this point, but my point of reference is the palm of my hand… it’s 3.5” exactly. Thanks for checking out the new round of finds!

    Hey man me and my dad got caught down here in east tn by tva and twra it was a lil over 2 months ago and they said they would call us and took the pieces we found do u think there ever going to call us and we where in the river bed is that not public prop?

    • @Points365
      @Points365  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dang… it’s so strange hearing stories like that from my fellow Tennesseans. I’ve never had anything yet pleasant interactions with law enforcement while out hunting. After 2 months and nothing, I’d say you were in the clear. Knowing what I know about TWRA, they were probably mad that you were in their honey hole and wanted to give you a scare. I know around here, some of the nicest collections you’ll see belong to TVA and TWRA agents. Coincidence? I think not! The banks of navigable waterways are considered public right of ways. As a landowner myself of a few hundred yards of navigable waterway, I know for a fact I can do nothing about people walking on banks I pay property taxes on. I have some shady characters that I see on my bank from time to time too, so I’ve done my research. I can’t do a thing about it!

    That second pull wasn't anything like I thought it would be. And that's a confederate two ringer. I'm going to say it's a fired looks like it was tumbling when it made contact with the water. Best point of the day? My vote goes to the samdy colored lost lake . Incredible day for you.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha man I know! That second pull looked like it was about to be a buck creek or something. The way that dirt was laying on it definitely made it look like it had an ear sticking out and whatnot. I find quite a few 19th century era bullets. Most the 3 ringer type. Years back I found a spill of unfired bullets. In total there was about 13 I believe. 6 or 7 enfield rounds and the rest the 3 ring type. My metal detector came in quite handy that day!
