Arrowhead hunting TN - Timeless beauty of the Elk Rivers flaking

  • We have another video packed with artifacts from the ancient to the more modern. Starting with the modern we have a nice 1903 Indian head penny and an old flat button probably from the mid 1800's. The native artifacts in this video are among a wide range of time periods, tools, and projectiles. It was a busy month for me in Feb. and March has been even busier! I have tons of finds to put into future videos so be sure to keep a lookout for those. There are tons of upcoming artifact that are just too good to be true! If you would please like the video. It helps out more than you think! While you're at it be sure to subscribe to keep up with all of my upcoming finds. Thanks for watching!

      You have for sure been a loyal and repeat watcher for quite some time, and I sure do appreciate it! From what most museums I’ve seen have displayed I would agree for sure! But it’s probably what they have stuffed away in their basements that would really make people envious!

      Yeah those shaped scrapers are like you mentioned.. quite a bit smaller! Maybe that scraper was the one they used when their hand got stung by a wasp or something! Haha But man you know it!! Catching the water just right is like hitting the lottery to me. I caught it just right last week. Found 15 in one day. Ended the week with a tally in the mid 30’s. I have SO MANY artifacts to share! From all different time periods as well. I’m glad you enjoy the extras I put in there from time to time. If there’s something I find interesting and relatively old, i try and add it in the mix. HOLY SHEEP DIP, BATMAN! You're kill'n it out there. Good for you and thanks for posting. That one blade? in the shallow water, I only saw the small exposed base. You moved it, it popped up a couple inches farther down, I gasped and nearly got whiplash. And you say you have much more to post... I'll be anxiously waiting. BTW, the stone that kind of has a leopard pattern... Do you know the name? It's very interesting material.

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha thanks buddy! I hear ya on that blade. The video and it being in the water made it hard to see the rest of it. On that piece of interesting looking material. I’m not that great with my materials, but it might be Dover chert. It has a brindle look to it and sometimes comes in different colors. Hope that helps! I’ve had a very productive past month or so.. I’ll be releasing footage of finds from March up until June! Haha thanks again buddy!

    I'm surprised you don't find more points made of quartz!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah me too! Just a little south of me and they find it left and right. I only have a handful of quartz pieces. I’d say they just preferred the workability of other materials that were more readily available. From what I understand quartz isn’t as easily worked. Just my thought. I do like the look of quartz though! Thanks for checking out the finds!

      Some places I hunt, just about all I find is artifacts made from only 1 type of material. Then other places, they used seemingly every material imaginable! In my personal experience I’ve seen it from both ends of the spectrum, so im divided on the answer! Haha Thanks for checking out the finds buddy!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

    Just fantastic saves!!! That last one is a killer!! How old are you thinking on that? That flaking was off the hook!!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again buddy! It makes me wonder why they put so much effort into that flaking? I was conversing with someone else about it earlier. It’s almost like going the extra mile with the fancy flaking was almost as a show of skill or something! But the book has those Elk River points aged around 6,000 years old. A blink of an eye geologically speaking! Haha
