I was in the workshop earlier this week, he’s not exaggerating, that new vivid black is incredible. Super black, mirror like finish. It was the unanimous winner.
I installed it on my center console and it was super black, awesome no orange peel. But, it's a scratch magnet. After a week, tons of visible scratches everywhere. Only wiped it down about five times using a new microfiber cloth and it looks terrible now. Bought 3m and it's not as pretty, but also doesnt scratch when grazed by wind!
@@kristopheraknight Ugh. Good to know this! I have a roll of 3M 2080 that I was going to return. Having second thoughts after reading your comment. I’ll take some orange peel if the overall look lasts longer and is more durable.
@@Pilot545 yeah man i used the 3m 2080 gloss black on my grand cherokee window trim, without heat and its still looking great, minimal scratches, and hasnt moved in 6 months. I used vvivid copper matte metallic on my dash and door trim and it requires 2x the amt of time. I recommend the matte metallics, but not the gloss. 🤮
Watching your video through a camera perspective on 4K is as close as it can be inperson and it’s clear that Vvivid is more of a true black. All the other brands are a “mud” black finish, hazing defects as well. Knowing that Vvivid has the protective cap is a HUGE advantage because of its equal stretch to the film when installing. Clearly shows who’s the winner in gloss black finishes. Thanks for the informative video CK.
Pretty incredible. The way the light reflects is night and day. Love your demos. I recently had a shop try and tell me these vinyls were all basically the same. I begged to differ.
The Vvivid by far looks the best. KPMF is a close 2nd color wise but the swirls and micro scratches in it bother me a little lol. I'll be using the Vvivid for sure!
Great comparison! Thank you for making these informative vids. Ive watched for 3 years and have only wrapped 2 car decals haha maybe one day I'll try something bigger
Great vid. You haven't touched the Vvivid after removing the top liner... it would have been interesting to see if it scratches easily and if it recovers (self-heal) like Oracal's
having used it in several installs, and seeing my first return customer with it installed (no, i dont need to fix the black install, lol) I can say that it holds up very well so far unprotected. I'm seeing very little reduction in sheen or finish, and there is virtually no color-fade after 7 months being on the hood/roof. I can only imagine that the quality is better when used with a ceramic coating for protection.
I used Vvivid Xpo for my very first wrap , thanks for the inspiration CK, a white grand caravan it was a beast! many can’t believe it’s wrapped, excellent gloss...hexis ignored two emails I sent while ininzotek treated me like a hobo instead of a valuable potential customer... tekwrap has some nice colors ,maybe they will reduce the cost of shipping soon. : ). Also the Vvivid carbon is TopGun!
Never used vvivid I have been wanting to try It can definitely agree with you that 3m it’s just a name definitely not one of my favorite products customers ask for it all the time I try to steer them a different direction
Inozetek has their black out now and offers trim rolls too which is awesome for chrome deletes. On the flip side, there is now black PPF. Talk about an amazing finish!
It’s crazy how The KPMF black is the actually the darkest when he does the circle test around the vvivid but the clarity of vvivid is much better. Kind of a handoff on which one suits you the most. True black or clarity.
I almost got 3m. This video was so amazing thank you so very freaking much. I'm testing cheetah wrap. Is so cheap I'm not going to be mad if it looks like crap !!!
That is a great video. Thank you. In my shop for gloss black i use Oracal and i m happy with it. And here its cheaper then all of them. But I would like to try vvivid but i dont think i can get it in Romania. Any ideea from where i can buy it to ship it to Romania?
Can you do something about all these strachtes, or is it just like that when its a wrap? Thinking about getting my car wrapped, But not if its this straxthy
Thx for great video, ! Avery getting more brown accent after wrap... anoying. Kpmf have a lot of white dotz and like you showed breaks very easy, but it's going of away after same heating. Hexis is actually a nice black finish. Vivvid thought looks and feels like a winner, there is no doubt about it. Greetings from Norway 🍻🤗
Ck there’s this guy on TH-cam called “Paradox the wrapper” he has his own brand of wrap called PARADOX and he has this black called Piano Black and it’s insane! The finish and color is very impressive please do a review plus he’s a brand nobody has heard of and sometimes those can be hidden gems..
His vinyl is just teckwrap he's even said it. He is also a huge asshole if you inquire about purchasing vinyl. Especially if you don't want it shipped and you wanna pick it up cause your only live about 40min away

When i first came herenin uk last year i was surprised by what they do, they are super fast to install and find out doing that technique, not sure thought about the quality but most wrappers here do that.
I never wrapped a car before, I’m thinking about doing it. I want to do it myself since I think it’s cheaper, where should I buy the wrap and should I try it alone and not be scared of messing it up? 😂
Ay i got a question.. how much wrap do you think I need for a full sized pick up? (F150) and also.. how do you wrap a panel that is bigger than 5ft on both sides?
What vvivid vinyl wrap is that exactly? Because there are couple of black wraps on there website? Please get back to me, hope to hear back from you soon! Thank you
Come on, you forgot about APA Wrapping Cast CW / 997-HX (ANTI-SCRATCH). Although APA has 3 black glosses, 2 others are not worth testing in my opinion;) But it is a pity that you did not order this film for comparison :(
Man I wish my vivivd looked that good. Mine's orange peeled and looks more like the 3M that you've got there. The Black is deep, but between the orange peel and the appears to be a pretty easily micro scratched surface, I'm not sold. In fairness I may have had unrealistic expectations.
Review the kpmf anti scratch super high gloss black. Says it's new material and needs to be installed wet. Is this true? Are there different kinds of material that require water install?
Been watching your videos, wrapping this toolbox in my profile pic, it’s my first go on it, but of course we install a ton of CAT decals (film they call it) I would like to get better, so for my amateur wrapping jobs ppl like them (no pro) I’m wrapping it in vvivid, I’ll continue to watch more and thanks for the training so for 😄

just got a 100ft of piano black vivid plus mofos trying to send me a defective roll all have rainbow lines once you shine a flashlight to it. before and after instalation
vivid is the mosr difficult vinyl i've ever worked with because its just so thick. yeah its a deeper black, but fuck the headache that comes with this vinyl.

No contest . VVivid hands down . Deep , clear , and clean
For me personally to minimize the scratches I use a wet app squeegee and soap to install said vinly

How are they in difficulty of wrapping ? Compared to avery and 3m

HOW does one acquire the great INOZETEK vinyl wrap?

Vvivid's gloss black is perfection. You didn't have to use the heat gun on the Vvivid
Vvivid is actually a color match to my black mustang. I vinyl wrapped my widebody kit with vvivid

With the Vvivid, you can see imperfections in the metal roofing reflected in the screen.
Excellent apples to apples comparison. Thank you for posting
Vivid easy winner, Finally something 3M dosnt do well
3m doesn’t do anything well. Matter of fact their new 2080 series has been failing on us.
