Your a life saver, been wrapping for over 10 years. Trunks were always my Kryptonite, but watched your video last night because I knew I had a trunk similar to do the next day. Used your Technique and it was a breeze. Thanks man.
Hey CK, as someone who wants to open shop, can't thank you enough for the invaluble videos. You're not stingy with your knowledge and you know how to teach.
I also wrap cars for a living in the uk. Love it as a job. Been doing it for 9 years I have wrapped a wide rang of vehicles. Jumbo vans to scooters. I recommend anyone thinking of changing your career, give it a go wrap cars for living!
not only a great wrapper but even a great teacher! the way you described how wrinkles has to go in the same direction of edges is been probably one of the best problem solver teachings i ve learned watchin wrap videos. Thanks!
I have a Lexus GX470 that is our modified off-road and camper puller vehicle. My roof and hood paint is just cracking and flaking off. I have my Avery satin Khaki vinyl on order. I have sanded to bare metal, primed and painted the roof and hood. I will polish out the new paint in about a week and then do the vinyl install. Your many videos have been most helpful and are greatly appreciated. When my wife and I do the install we will be following your amazing techniques. Thanks again and I wish you continued success and blessings in your business endeavors! :)
I’m new to the vinyl wrap world doing interior and headlights so far. Next is a front lip. Hands down best vinyl wrap channel. The way you explain things are perfect. You make it look too easy. Good luck with your business from Cali.
Holy Crap!!! This was a revelation of two super important principles. When you pushed the cold wrap down at minute 2:45 it showed the whole problem of trying to wrap this trunk, or a mirror housing, or a bowling ball... Try to take a piece of letter paper and wrap it around an orange without wrinkles. But if you had a circle the same diameter as the orange AND you could stretch the center as you move the paper diameter to the diameter of the orange.- No wrinkles and the EDGE has no tension. . And then at around minute 26 where you smooth the relaxed material toward the deepest part of the inset and use the stretch from that huge flat section is brilliant. I just wish these principles were easier to explain and to notice while wrapping.
Ive been vinyl wrapping stuff on my car and this dude has a vinyl wrap shop in my town and he said he wants to hire me once I start doing some harder stuff so I’m gonna vinyl wrap my whole car so I’ve been watching these videos to help me out
These videos have given me the confidence to tackle the easiest wrap job ever. 1988 vw Fox wagon. I will be using a lot of these techniques. I'm very sure I will make a ton of mistakes, but, Fox. It's all squares.
Glad I'm wrapping a Dodge Magnum for my first wrap and not a newer car with all the complex geometry! Keep up the great work and tutorials, so many of us out here appreciate you sharing the wrapping experience!! I'm most likely using Avery for my first wrap, over 3M or VViVid, only because of color and finish choices. Wish VViViD offered more colors...
Regardless the endeavor, it's always a pleasure to watch a craftsman. Hopefully this gives consumers a very basic idea of how we arrive at our pricing. I do custom paint and restoration, and the majority of customers shit where they stand when we talk price. They have no idea what is involved, or what material costs. These videos give the uninitiated some insight into what we deal with.
I wish i would have used this technique when i wrapped my is300 trunk. I wrapped the top part easy but then i just slowly worked my way down the back side. It took forever and there are quite a few stretch lines but it's not completely terrible. I will use this technique if my trunk ever fails. I love the videos. Thank you.
If you have a school, I’d sign up in a heart beat. I’ve been watching your vids for so long that I plan on wrapping my old school integra soon as my starter. I am a creature of habit and always pay attention to detail, I can say the same about your work. It’s very encouraging. Keep up the awesome work. 💪🏽
Amazing! Now that is experience right there! Pretty awesome the way you move the film and work the wrinkles. Such smart way to attack the film. Should call u the wrinkle manipulator! BOOM!
Fantastic instructions. I visited a place near Tokyo, Japan a couple of years ago and they wrapped on a large scale. They had heated rooms that workers went in to wrap quickly then came out. Probably cost a fortune to heat and hope no one gets heat exhausted. Nice work Christian.
And this talent is worth the money...Since socialDistance. ive become an addict to wrap instruction videos.... The experience level, seems key.How many cars etc etc etc. Amazing
Always stretch across the main dividing line of any body panel to make your life easy! Been Wrapping since 1999! Rally Fighters, BMW's, Semi Tractors. I have tricks that will die with me if I don't teach some one else. I am an avery and 3m solo act! Self taught with a little help from 3M technicians. I started wrapping cars with cutting vinyl before they invented wrap vinyl. Lots of soap and water kinda like installing paint protection film.
Thank God I found this video! I thought I was screwing it up but it was fear of ripping vinyl, I just went out there and ripped a bunch up to practice and gauge how far it will stretch. Hell yeah, it takes lots of practice, unless your a natural, like these little Asian chicks out in Hollywood wrapping cars like there's no tomorrow!
Awesome stuff, I've been watching your videos in my spare time at home and work. I've never thought I'd be able to do this myself but it's certainly given me the confidence to have a go starting with a simple roof wrap on my 350z. Just wanted to shout out some appreciation for all the content you put out!
Thanks for the video! Did my first wrap job myself.. will by posting my fail in a bit lol. But hopefully 2nd try is a lot better. I rewatched the video over and over, the only problem i had was definitely that license plate part. (Doing the trunk of my is300)
Wow! Nice work! For the first 15mins that looked like crap! 😂 I’ve torn vinyl off and given up sooner than that 🤣 I’d never have believed that would’ve turned out so well!
you can save a lot of time with the heat gun if you increase the air temp in your shop . make it real warm in there 80 - 85 degrees . you can get a much better "cold" stretch , and when you add heat with your heat gun , it wont cool off as fast either . you will have more time to set bigger areas of material in place . outside in the sun on a warm day , you could have the whole trunk wrapped in about 30 minutes , max. you should try to do a rear like that with copy/print and stripes or designs that you cant really stretch out of shape because it all lines up with the bumper graphic design . great job on the trunk , they are harder than they look .
i dont get it why anyone would wanna wrap their car in a primer gray color. but besides that its always fun and learning to watch your videos. keep it up
This is my second video of yours watching . . And being a WRX owner this is great . . Your detail in free videos is amazing! ! ! It would be amazing if you could do a free WRX wrap video but if not I understand!! But great video man AMAZING WORK!!!!!
The god of wrap!!! I Absolutely respect this man!!! He knows his sh*t and he knows it fricking good!!! Amen dude!!! Fantastic! Once I got a enough cash I will join your club and ask you millions of questions to get my confidence going up!!!
what does it mean to “cut using the back of the blade”? so far, in all of your videos that i’ve seen, i havent seen a very good angle of you doing that. love what you do!
I recently started watching your videos and I feel like I can't stop. I even get stressed out about some of them lol. It looks like something that can't be done and then you are all done! I do want to ask. How would you handle a repair after work? let's say a small accident happens and you get a scratch or cuts. does the whole section need to be redone? I bet this kind of work is not cheap!
Fingerprint impressions also mean your pushing that shit way too hard for those out there watching. Love the videos man, I would have been too worried to not do an inlay for the license plate area tbh
Dude I feel for ya, I did a Evo 8 smooth trunk a few months back, no wing and one piece all by myself. It was hard as Hell, as I was 100% by myself. I used 3M 2080 Vampire Red. Whew wee. Haha.
Wish I could Share pix of my work, I’ve been at it over 10years, so before we had all these great new products. So much easier now. You do great work man, I act used your videos before I started a 2020 Jeep Rubicon color change. White to 3m 2080 matte OG Military Green
I would of just wrap the top half and then ran some of that cut tape along the bottom seam and the did the bottom half of trunk. (Coming from someone who has never wrapped anything in her life 😂) Great job!
Hey CK, I have a WRX with the same trunk. You've inspired me and I just ordered some vvivid 4d Carbon fiber I'm going to do my roof and hood with. I was going to start with roof because it's the easiest, then do the hood. Do you think the trunk might be too much for someone who's never done it before? I'll have a buddy with me, he doesnt know anything about it either, but he's good at listening lol. I appreciate it bro, fire channel!
And BOOM! we have glace 😉😂😂😂 another beautiful video. It's always a pleasure whatching you doing your work and i learn a lot, thx to you 😊😊🤘 and sorry for my english, it isn't that good 🙈😁
Howdy from germany, you did a great job. one question, won’t this short cuttend rims come up with hot or cold weather and rain. Answer is very much appreciated. Take care, klaus
The type of person willing to do this job must have patience, persistence, discipline, determination and perseverance. And a can-do attitude. I wonder how much a shop charges per hour for the labor alone.
I have decided to try and do this to my Corvette. I have a major concern about wrapping the front fascia. The turn/fog lights are recessed over 2 inches. Could you do a video how to do these recesses? My car is an '85 but any C4 will be okay.
Yo know I wonder who thought “let’s wrap this car in tape which is gonna hard af and who knows if it’ll work” and actually made it work. Like the origins of wrap would be awesome to learn about.
Your a life saver, been wrapping for over 10 years. Trunks were always my Kryptonite, but watched your video last night because I knew I had a trunk similar to do the next day. Used your Technique and it was a breeze. Thanks man.
He just said “if you have two buddies” old g just did a 3 man job💯 you lit asf🔥
These videos are addictive. Not often I enjoy watching someone else work after putting in a long day myself. Great job!
so true. its my day off and just watching this man work lol
Hey CK, as someone who wants to open shop, can't thank you enough for the invaluble videos. You're not stingy with your knowledge and you know how to teach.

not only a great wrapper but even a great teacher! the way you described how wrinkles has to go in the same direction of edges is been probably one of the best problem solver teachings i ve learned watchin wrap videos. Thanks!
You stay so calm...I would go crazy. Good for you mate.

Literally just watched all of your wrapping videos for the WRX, I really want to learn how and wrap my sti myself
your teaching skills are getting MILES better! Well done Christian, the hard work will always pay off! :)

This guy is the Bob Ross of wraps
Happy vinyl
There is a few things I didn’t like, a few reasons I wouldn’t take my car to this wrapper.
@@jake7aylor Like what?
@@jake7aylor yeh like what
Keeping magnets on the car, laying vinyl on the face, cutting on the car much much more.
Dude you saved my life. I just wrapped the trunk of my audi a4 b5 and it was even harder than that. You advices were sooo usefull

What Asian chicks what shop ?
Thank you so much for the STI wrap videos. I can finally use a great guide to try wrapping my own WRX.
Awesome stuff, I've been watching your videos in my spare time at home and work. I've never thought I'd be able to do this myself but it's certainly given me the confidence to have a go starting with a simple roof wrap on my 350z. Only CK wraps can do this magic

When you started I thought it was impossible. I was wrong. It’s like magic!
I’m eyeing the beauty in the background. That’s a gorgeous color
Thanks for the video! Did my first wrap job myself.. will by posting my fail in a bit lol. But hopefully 2nd try is a lot better. I rewatched the video over and over, the only problem i had was definitely that license plate part. (Doing the trunk of my is300)

Extremely informative and now I feel I can tackle something like this on my own 👍
Wow! Nice work! For the first 15mins that looked like crap! 😂 I’ve torn vinyl off and given up sooner than that 🤣 I’d never have believed that would’ve turned out so well!
i could watch you wrap cars as i fall asleep. i will be attempting a wrap on my 6 gen camaro ss here soon
So happy I found this guy. He does a great job teaching
Patients is a virtue, your an artist bro. Very impressive.
you can save a lot of time with the heat gun if you increase the air temp in your shop . make it real warm in there 80 - 85 degrees . you can get a much better "cold" stretch , and when you add heat with your heat gun , it wont cool off as fast either . you will have more time to set bigger areas of material in place . outside in the sun on a warm day , you could have the whole trunk wrapped in about 30 minutes , max. you should try to do a rear like that with copy/print and stripes or designs that you cant really stretch out of shape because it all lines up with the bumper graphic design . great job on the trunk , they are harder than they look .

good attention to detail and going over the top to create a quality piece for your customers. thanks for lessons
Never wrapped but going to and I understood everything you were saying and the reasons why you did what you did, Ty
This is my second video of yours watching . .
And being a WRX owner this is great . .
Your detail in free videos is amazing! ! ! It would be amazing if you could do a free WRX wrap video but if not I understand!! But great video man AMAZING WORK!!!!!

Love the videos bro. So helpful. Best vinyl wrap videos you can find anywhere. 👍👌
I'm literally going nuts just watching thinking about how frustrating this would be.. good on you man for not walking away lol
Idk why but this is ur best vid yet, keep up the good work
He is the Bob Ross of wrap.
I'm an installer myself and the more of your videos I watch, the more I want to use Vivid. CK hit me up, would love to chat it up
Fingerprint impressions also mean your pushing that shit way too hard for those out there watching. Love the videos man, I would have been too worried to not do an inlay for the license plate area tbh
Too much heat can also cause the fingerprints to happen more easily.
Lol he said it was hard..but he makes it look so easy..great video
I'm not going to lie, this episode made me nervous as hell... LOL
Dude I feel for ya, I did a Evo 8 smooth trunk a few months back, no wing and one piece all by myself. It was hard as Hell, as I was 100% by myself. I used 3M 2080 Vampire Red. Whew wee. Haha.

I did my Subaru trunk in 3M carbon that was total hell that stuff is so thick and rigid when cold.
Wow, you are literally an artist ! Perfect work, respect
What is this color 😍 I like it and would love to purchase it for my first time wrapping myself

Solid video! Thank you for taking time to explain the best techniques.
Great job as always. Always learning something new on this channel. Anyone know what wrap that yellow is in the background?
Thank you for taking time out of your day to post this
The best work I have seen on TH-cam. Thanks a ton for the info.
Very good educational video that not all goes right all the time, learnt a lot , thanks.
Your heat gun must be set on a very low heat setting?
My 135i trunk is the same way and this i s super helpful but i think im still gonna wrap it in 2 pieces
DolphinDivingChamp did you end up doing 2 pieces?
The best for a wraps cars. I like all his videos
Want a lollipop

Thank u very much bro! I inspired a lot of your craftmanship!
Bob Ross of vinyl wrapping
Very nice job , as always
Love vids very impressive. I’m in the process of purchasing my first roll.... what do you recommend for beginners ? Thank you 🙏
I have decided to try and do this to my Corvette. I have a major concern about wrapping the front fascia. The turn/fog lights are recessed over 2 inches. Could you do a video how to do these recesses? My car is an '85 but any C4 will be okay.

I could tell you, it'll make a good video. I started nearly at the beginning.
