Once I’m completely finished with that I’ll be working on a 9.5 like this and then an older 1950s 15. Do you show the teardown of the stern bracket at all, specifically the tilt lock lever. I've got a Evinrude '69 9.5 HP and mine got bent all out of shape and trying to figure out what all is needed to replace that. What connects to the little hole at the end of the tilt lock lever, it wasn't hooked up to anything on mine. You mentioned the cable around 12:08 in this video that goes down to the reverse lock, is that in any way related?
Am I missing something? I didn't see anything about the tiller handle in the video, only internal shots and removal of the kill switch and front plate? I am looking to replace the inner rod for the tiller handle, and want to make sure before I dive in that it is the problem. I can turn the throttle until the gear at the end of the rod slips off, and wanted to see an original one to make sure that it is the damaged gear on the end that is the issue. Any vids of the handle tear down? Thx.
Got ya. I found a replacement handle on Ebay for 40.00, and the only part I really need is the internal rod, and I think by removing split rings on the gear end, I should be able to pull shaft out, replace with new(er), and put handle back on and be back in business. Thanks for replying and the time you took to make the vids, as I am going to try and keep my trout boat running for fall/winter when the fish stop biting in the lakes and I put up the bass boat!
I have the same motor. The water jacket that is located behind the starter has a crack and is spraying water. How do I get to that to take it off? I can’t get to the bottom bolts.
How do you remove or adjust the male fuel connection on the motor. Couldn't find where you disconnected it. I bought 4 different female connectors and none will clip and lock. Please help, thank you
Any advice on how to make it work? I left the old fuel lines in my front yard and someone took them. I just finished rebuilding the carburetor, changed the fuel pump. Rebuild the water pump and resealed the lower unit thanks to you’re vids (thank you, btw). Now just having a problem finding fuel connectors that will fit and click.
Brandon's Garage. So, after purchasing the eighth connector (lol). I grabbed one and slid a flathead screw driver under the metal clip part (where the metal clip clicks in and locks) and pried it out just a hair and now fits like a glove. Wow! Thanks again for the vids. Really helpful.
The 9.5 Handles are the same across all years. Did you see the ebay number? its exactly what you need. If you want to replace just the base, look for part number- 0380966 BRACKET AND FUEL CONNECTOR ASSY.
Will Lyons I also need this part or mine adjusted. Is there a way of adjusting or to push out male connection a hair. Mine won't budge and i can't get a solid snap and click connection. Any advise?

only way is to find the parts needed on eBay.

Its more of a handle removal.

haha, you don't.
Those labels never line up, most engine out there you have to pass start.

its built into the handle, not removable.
What fuel connectors are you buying?
I have the walmart special, believe they are attwood.. Also purchased a moeller connector that did not fit..

Its odd the Attwood connector doesn't work. I would try a genuine fuel connector and take it from there.

when you took off the handle did it look like you could replace the fuel quick connects or are they stuck to the motor
