Great tutorial! My plastics broke in the exact same places. I didn’t put gloves on and instantly regretted it.. This was as easy as going to the scrapyard for a used one 👍
Hey brother thanks for this video. A curious little three year old pulled a Commander sunvisor too far and thank God I found your video. Half hour later it's all fixed. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to do this project. Again thank you, you made this day easier.
@@oscarhuerta1098 no, I became a little father and son adventure together. He's a crazy little Jeep addict already and loves hanging with dad in the driveway when we work on the wrangler. Thanks again and keep the rubber side down🤙
You’re welcome! This is one of the most commonly known problems the Commander has. The other one is the sunroof leaking. Also an easy fix. But with maintenance this cars will last forever. Congratulations on your purchase.
Great video Oscar of the step by step process. I just bought a Commander and both of the shades are hanging down. Yours had the broken plastic pieces, and I'm concerned that mine might not. In the event that there are missing pieces, do you have any suggestions? I've heard about some guys cutting off the shade and applying a piece of dark window tint on them, but that seems like a last resort.
I just finished my two shades and I'd like to share a tip I used. Rather than using pliers to hold the metal shaft, I opened a large size paper clip and stuck the end through the tiny hole that's near the end of the shaft to prevent the shaft from rotating. I then rolled the shade four times, inserted the shaft into the plastic piece, and was able to slightly turn the shaft with the paper clip (while the shaft was partially fitted into the plastic), put a bit of downward pressure, and it popped right in. I'm guessing that hole in the shaft was utilized when these shades were assembled by the OEM supplier in production. Thanks again Oscar for doing this video, I'm so glad I was able to repair these cool shades rather than cutting them off like many people likely do.
I think the spring or whatever inside my actual pole is broken because when I hold onto it and I twist it and I let it go it doesn’t move at all do you know what I can do to fix it now lol
@@oscarhuerta1098 Heyy, The stereo in the jeep is not working, the switches work but the screen doesn't turn on at all. Is there a solution for this..? If yes plsss let me know. Coz I like hearing music soo much while driving😑
@@17.muneesxib35 I’m afraid you need a new stereo, once the screen is gone it is not coming back. The good news is that there are many of these stereos on eBay.
@@oscarhuerta1098 Noo its a normal issue with the jeep commander. Sometimes when the vehicle is cold the stereo opens up, but after a few seconds the stereo display goes... Is this a stereo fuse prblm or like yuh said should I search for a new one ?
@@17.muneesxib35 I recommend looking for a new one. If you want to keep the steering wheel buttons functioning get the same type of stereo, it doesn’t have to be from a Commander; Jeeps, Chryslers and Dodge share the stereos in the years they produced the Commander. But the prices are comparable if you’re looking for a new stereo with apple car play or android, even with the large “tesla” like screens.
Thank you so much . The only video on youtube about this fix.
Glad it helped

glad I could help!
My Jeep had´s the same problem. Thank´s for the tip...
Christian De Jesus Garcia Trujillo you’re welcome!
My only advice will be do not tighten your spring too much as it will roll up very aggressively and might mess up all the fix.
good advise
Excellent video man

Carlos C Glad I can help. Jeep commanders are great cars! Have fun with the repair!

If the plastic pieces are not broken, the sun screen may need adjustment, which requires the same process (whining the screen).
I hope this helps.

In your case, my believe is that the metal stick is bit connected to the base on the one side and that is why the spring is not creating tension.
Very useful, Thank yuh soo soo much💕

I have a 2006 Commander and mine won’t come off like this is there any other way?
It comes off, but they are very well snapped in with metal parts.
Oscar Huerta ok thanks
How did you clean the screens?
microfiber and alcohol
Can you open those windows? I was wondering I can't see how
those windows cannot open
