Curious if you have a current "canon" order posted anywhere. Curious to see the full current timeline that you guys have figured out and which episodes you are still figure out (if any).
It probably could be canon because, as far as I know, it doesn't mess with the continuity in any way, especially since the game is all set in a simulation. It definitely takes place before Justice League, that's for sure.
I remember when I was younger and saw clips of these cutscenes and thought it was an actual episode and drove myself crazy looking for it. I couldn’t believe it when I found out it was a video game 😂😂
That has happened to me before.. there's a Tenchi game for... I think Sega CD... that I've never been able to track down, no matter how I scour lists of Tenchi games, but I remember seeing unique footage animated just for that.
@@Forty3Snakes it's not an insane lie, and could be easily explained with "every clip on the old internet was that crusty" or "saw it at a friend's house once" or "i was a child who didn't know the series nuances okay"
The bit w/ James going up the ramp only to crash down onto the same obstacle he took the ramp to avoid was such a quintessential old video game frustration moment.
Small bit of info, there IS wind in the Batcave! Bats have to have ways in and out of the cave, so there are entrances to the caves besides the ones Batman uses and wind will blow thru these openings because caves "breathe". It's a known phenomenon.
Yeah, I've experienced cave wind and drafts personally, and I don't exactly have extensive experience with caves. It can also be pretty localized, so I have no problem seeing most of the batcave having consistently minimal airflow and some specific parts getting a pretty good draft going at certain times. Batman's a borderline implausibly smart guy after all, he'd certainly have the expert level cave aerodynamics knowledge and foresight to plan his batcave infrastructure around where wind would and would not be present.

I asked Kevin Altieri about this game and he told me that he had a lot of freedom in his section (Clayface on the boat) Apparently very little of the action was in the script, so he got to come up with ways of demonstrating Clayface’s powers. The part where Batman shoots Clayface with an anti-air cannon is 100% something I can see Kevin coming up with. Shocking. Violent. Explosive. And it involves aircraft. All hallmarks of Kevin’s work!
ngl if i gave this a title i’d prolly call it “i drove all knight” due to what you do in this game also worth noting batman’s a lot more exponentially pissed here, like he also had to struggle with gotham’s traffic system + trees + VR doodah
I noticed that the lost episode is far more violent than the TV series as: 1) the TV series wouldn't show Batman hitting an opponent directly in the face, instead the punch would be replaced with a red or white flash 2) The riddler is violently electrocuted which wouldn't get pass Fox censors 3) Joker and Batman duking it out brutally to the point Joker loses a few teeth
This kills me because on a technical side, I truly believe that the animated sequences in this game are some of, if not the most beautiful ever made for BTAS : the characters are beautifully drawn, it's very dynamic, the work on shadows and lighting is sophisticated... Yet, we'll probably never be able to see this in an uncompressed format.
Give it another year and video generation AI will probably be able to re-render each frame in a larger size with no noticeable artifacts. That's the best we'll ever get. No way the original footage of this game is left around.
Would love to see "Will It Canon" on Batman's non-DCAU crossovers like Scooby-Doo and Guess Who, Brave and the Bold, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Teen Titans Go, Cartoon Network/Kids WB promos, etc.
So that’s two Batman games where the final twist is that the main villain was actually Clayface in disguise? I feel like at a certain point it starts to seem like more of a self confidence issue

21:50 Orrrrr, he was nearly killed in Mudslide because he was already unstable and falling apart and the water just finished him off. In his prime he could probably tank the water even if it knocked him out of action for a bit.(In Mudslide he completely dissolves away into thin sludge, while here he's clearly just breaking into chunks, there's a lot more tangibility and thickness) Heck you could argue this tip might have been the triggering factor for the mutagen degradation, the bad damage made him unstable. That works fine. Riddler is just re-using old kit from the previous scheme since this is a collaboration and not a proper Riddler plan(hence Batman deals with it way easier), Clayface is in his prime and hasn't started violently degrading yet(though perhaps his dip at the end helped set that off), Ivy is still mostly human and not a plant clone yet. Thorne being out of town for weeks just clarifies this isn't right next to The Man Who Killed Batman.
Honestly, seeing how the animation quality for the scenes in the game were still as good as BTAS is fantastic. The artwork has always been stellar for this sort of stuff.

6:51 If you think that's bad, the 32X was mostly responsible for ending Sega's time as a console manufacturer because they released it due to the Sega Saturn taking too long to manufacture, which kneekcapped the Saturn's success in the US and lost Sega a lot of trust from retailers, which also hurt sales of the Dreamcast. Course it was the PS2 that ultimately put the final nail in Dreamcast's coffin and lead to Sega dropping out of the console market but if it wasn't for the 32X, Sega could have at least held on in the face of the PS2's competition. Thank you for the statement that is not actually lost media, some people in the internet are using the term for anything that isn't mainstream or they just didn't know the existence
One of the very best WICs ever! Well done! This game is so sweet and it truly makes me happy to know that it just barely fits into the Official Batman cartoon continuity! Great job! You should totally also do Superman 64! Love all the enthusiasm you guys put into this! It’s a huge part of why this is one of my favorite TH-cam channels! Long live the DCAU!
Great episode!! Love the new intro🎉
This is a doubly fun video as someone who’s been binging Jump on the Bat-wagon. Good to hear Brother Broderick make an appearance.
A whole video that mentions my man Riddles is always a good time!
This editing is top notch as always, love this channel! Never stop doing the Will It Cannon series 😂
4:33 Well actually that's Owlman cacthphrase in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths and that movie was originally going to be a DCAU Justice League animated movie so...
It's related to the DCAU
When in flying vehicles, inverted controls are a must.
