yes i'd like to see miss martian in future dc animated universe shows/films. maybe even a teen titans one... yeah remember that theory (and yes i know the 2003 teen titans is separate from the dcau continuity/though it has a league of its own/explained in its own comic series)?

When Batman asks J'onn to read Justice Lord J'onn's mind he says Martians both can't and won't read other Martians' minds, so maybe that's why he couldn't detect Miss Martian was alive?

I'd like to believe that as well. As refugees, they would not want to open themselves up to another invasion so they must have done everything in their power to stay hidden from the rest of the universe in order to rebuild their society in peace.
Years later, inspired by the heroic feats of Martian Manhunter, they allow one of their best and brightest to train under earth's heroes in order to establish a relationship between planets while also gaining a hero of their own in the events of another castostrophic invasion.
@Singularity Yes, but I guess they can't _detect_ each other telepathically or read each other's minds without permission. They never went too in-depth into J'onn's telepathy in the DCAU.
@Singularity Yes, but we don't even know if she's a White Martian in the DCAU. The comics' and Young Justice's versions of the character are not necessarily the same as the DCAU's.
@Singularity There’s a difference between not reading someone’s mind as politeness, and communicating to someone. I mean just because you hear two people talking or someone signaling to you doesn’t mean you engage with them.

It's simple, James, CLEARLY Saturn has the same War World Radiation that messed up J'onn's powers, so of course he couldn't sense them there. Like all great things, it take us back to War World.

Especially for martians trying to separate themselves from the war on Mars, and Martian Girl could simply be their scout to see the state of the planet Mars and other martian survivors. And after a while, she could go back to report her findings, then a group of martians who want to leave the isolation could decide to leave their hidden base on or near Saturn, and either return to living on Saturn, or (unlikely) start living on Earth, though living on Earth might only be allowed if all of them become superheroes, which (also) is unlikely.
Maybe J’onn didn’t know about her because she is also a telepath, so could she like hide her thoughts from other telepaths? She’d be a scared orphaned child and wouldn’t want the Imperium to find her?

So I guess the “cleanest” way to look at this is she is a Green Martian, but part of some group that managed to escape the Imperium attack and flee to Saturn (maybe Titan specifically?) where either a small colony already existed or they proceeded to start one? And I suppose she’d end up being the only survivor or descendant of that group by present day? Something like that

Dream movie for me is Justice League beyond comic animated. Wonder Woman went to the Justice Lords universe, marries Batman, essentially Injustice happens, she marries Superman after Bruce dies for political reasons and they have a son called Zod. Hijinks ensues as well as one of the coolest and underrated Flashes Danica Williams
As a Spider-Man fan I know that there is only one answer to this dilemma: CLONE!!!

I love the idea of Saturn girl being a Martian descendant, it absolutely tracks especially since with earth and other planets have cross mingled so much in the future, titinians being more human and not shape shifting isn’t a dealbreaker.
Hell, you can even have it like in young justice where the titanians watch earth stuff and shape-shift to look like humans (maybe to fit in with other human looking races) and eventually that just becomes the norm, with the shape-shifting ability becoming less and less ubiquitous.
You can compound more lore by making it so *all* Saturnians developed stronger telepathic abilities. It explains how Martian Manhunter was unable to discover them prior, and makes great logical sense.
When the Imperium first invades, a very small group of Saturnians, who’s telepathic abilities were strong enough to conceal their psychic presences, hide just long enough to survive, helped by the Martian Resistance (J’onn J’onzz) sealing the Imperium’s main forces on Mars. Isolated and low in number, any remaining Imperium drones occupying the Saturnians would be swiftly dealt with. It’s beautifully tragic, with the Martian’s sacrifice unintentionally saving their Saturnian kin.
Traumatized, the remaining Saturnians became
isolationist, going to great lengths to
hide their civilization. They build deep underground, and prioritize the development of telepathic prowess as a culture, specifically the ability to conceal their psychic presence. Additionally, the survival of only the most adept telepaths would have created a genetic bottleneck, and the cultural selection for telepathic ability would further propagate inherent telepathic ability. All of that, as well as the use of any technological and natural shielding, radically transforms Saturnian civilization. After 1,000 years of it all, it’s no wonder why Martian Manhunter (and other telepaths) couldn’t discover them.
M’gann, and the other Saturnians, would still be of the Martian Species when they end isolation (they might even be Green, still). Then, the next 1,000 years of intermingling with their neighbor species, Humans, once again drastically changes them. Saturnians would adopt many aspects of Human culture, including an infamous love for visual media. Then, many Saturnians take humanoid appearances when interacting with outsiders. And finally, some interbreed with Humans or other aliens. Hybrids, because they don’t have complete Martian physiology, can’t shapeshift. But, other powers, such as their telepathy, are inherited much more easily. Saturn Girl, thus, is likely one of these hybrids, who inherited her people’s strong telepathic abilities.
I wish this was a thing.

I would love to see more of Miss Martian honestly. Anything further into DCAU/Timmverse is definitely a need. I REALLY would love to see a 'Rookie' series of the next gen of the JLU. Man, imagine if Miss Martian, Static, Nightwing and maybe someone like Aquagirl were all new to the League and they did a whole premise about them learning how to adapt to this much larger superhero structure. That'd be dope.

I like the saturn explanation. And white martians don't even need to be a thing for it to work. There just could have just simply been a martian colony who they lost contact with early in the imperiums conquest of the martian civilication. And yea one could come up with dozens of plot devises as to why the survivor(s) there was shielded from J'onn's mental scans.
My headcanon, M'gann is J'onn's daughter, captured during the war and experimented on by the Imperium and their drones, and kept in suspended animation up until around the time of JLU, when J'onn finally heard her telepathically, and then he brought her to Earth.
That’s awesome! Personally I would have kept the relationship as Uncle and niece like the YJ cover story, but what matters is that J’onn still has some of his biological family left.

I'd like to see a twist where the Imperium are decedents of some surviving White Martians and subconsciously inheriting their dislike of the green martians, due to something something saterium in the past. You know get a little bit of everyone involved in the lore.

Here's my idea for a backstory:
Remember that J'onn left the League for a while at one point and lived among humans. When he returns, he's with a woman who's at least implied to be his lover.
I don't know if this is true in the DCAU, but in Young Justice, M'gann explains that the reason she's able to provide a blood transfusion to a human is because her transformations occur on the molecular level.
If J'onn's human form is human down to the molecualr level, who's to say he can't have a child with a human?
And since there are no other examples of human-martian hybrids in the DCAU, we have no idea what effects J'onn's powers would have on the child.
So basically, my idea is that Miss Martian is J'onn's half-human daughter, whose unique biology caused her to age faster than normal so she appears much older than she actually is. J'onn basically asked Batman to be his babysitter. :)
Note: I'm only saying she's younger in YEARS. Physically, mentally and emotionally, she's a young adult.

Like I know it's unlikely but we know absolutely nothing about her. We don't know if she's gone through menopause or if she has, how long ago that was. We don't know her actual age, just what she looks like, and she did not look THAT old to me. And she could easily look older than she actually is.

I think it would make sense for telepaths trying to use a shield to conceal their presence to avoid being detected and killed. And having multiple Martians putting up a shield could justify "overpowering" one single. That could open up to more survivors
Or, in case of one single Martian, cutting off her own powers or trying to mask them somehow to avoid detection and danger
The idea of Green Martians or Red Saturnians hiding on Saturn, using their mental powers to hide from Imperium Drones or White Martians/Saturnians could be a reason J'onn didn't notice them. Like, intentionally hiding from other people with similar psychic powers and all that
I loved seeing Miss Martian in Justice League vs The Fatal Five film since I was introduced to her from Young Justice, and seeing her in the DCAU was such a huge and unexpected surprise to me, but an awesome surprise (I love her design and how she's drawn in the DCAU style). Would love to see her character and origin developed more within the DCAU animation and/or comics.

I'm my opinion, Jon not knowing about them is not really difficult to work around. Being able to look across galaxies to find someone mentally doesn't make him all knowing. I imagine he'd have to focus on her to find her. All seeing doesn't equal all knowing is my point. I could be misunderstanding something but yeah I don't see this as an issue tbh.
It could be a situation where his telepathy has to be consciously activated or “turned on”, if you will. Think of this as opposed to telepathy being analogous to normal human hearing and consequently “always on”. My point is, in this situation even if J’onn possessed sufficient telepathic range and power; if he doesn’t know to be looking for a given individual, then he’s going to remain as blind to their existence as the rest of us.
Also it mist have felt really good to finally get to talk about this, like a real Batman moment.

I think writing around this isn't too hard.
If you had it where Saturn had a polarized psyonic field around it, where it let in psychic communications but not outward communication.
So it would look dead to a telepath (you could say it was the rings of Saturn maybe but it broke up over time) they might have done this to protect themselves out of fear of being discovered or xenophobia. Or some other third thing.
Maybe have it where they wanted to stay hidden but ma' gan didn't want to anymore.
Maybe they stayed by themselves too long and got lonely. Festered in isolation and nearly wiped themselves out.
I'm just spitballing ideas.

I would love it if we see the Miss Martian backstory in the DCAU. I would also just love any more DDCAU, too, tbh. But Miss Martian's backstory, from what was given, does sound very interesting.
It’s entirely possible she could’ve been in stasis therefore causing her mental signature to go unnoticed by J’onn maybe she was found in a ruins on Mars on an exploratory mission by earth or possibly by J’onn himself

Here’s a theory “the alien invaders” once they got the shape changing ability they started experimenting on the martians making a hybrid invader/martian I don’t know if that fits in perfectly but hey neither does miss martian

Although I like the direction that this was going, I was thinking that maybe Miss Martian's DCAU origin could have gone down similar to Garfield's origin in the Young Justice cartoon. She could have been a civilian on Earth that ended up in the line of fire. With her life fading away and a hospital too far, J'onn would have no other choice but to shapeshift his blood to match her own. In time, the two of them would come to realize that she has powers that she didn't have before. J'onn would have no other choice to step up and teach her how to use her newfound powers... Idk just a thought I had
First off answering the question yes. Second I can't believe the answer is not Cadmus! I mean they clone Karen, they made a clone of Batman, they clone the Joker, they made their super friend! I wouldn't be surprised if they introduce Troy she would be revealed to be a clone(less confusing than the back story and the actual comics) I mean we will just clone the entire Justice league or did they already do that? Did they clone the entire watchtower database? Amanda Waller!

@@robertrogers074 Long shadow(Apache Chief), juice[Black Vulcan],Wind Dragon[Samurai], & the wonder Twins(the wonder Twins)! Although they really miss the chance of introducing super Marvin within the series but I guess they didn't want a pure analog of Superman.
I would definitely want more of Miss Martian, and of classic DCAU in general.
Maybe Miss Martian was some sort mutant pariah that was rejected by other Imperium drones.
There could be a very nice story about J'onn being more welcoming of her than her own kind.
Honestly watching this video again after watching the new season of young Justice makes me excited but yet disappointed that we didn't get to explore this Ms martians Origins hope to see it one day

It sort of reminds me of Supergirl’s origin. A colony of Kryptonians on another planet, producing a teenaged girl that became a sort of sidekick to a hero from the homeworld.
What if she was like Martian Manhunter’s daughter with the woman he was with at the end of JLU, I’m not sure how long after the show the movie takes place for that to work tho

I'd keep the White Martian backstory, make the events that caused the "Martian Wars" and the Green Martian migration to Mars so long ago that it dropped out of their collective minds, and have it be that Manhunter specifically searched for *GREEN* Martians and that's why he never found *ANY* other Martians.
I was totally ready for him to say Martians reproduce asexually. Like the Saturnian idea.
I would love to hear about Miss Martian's origin story and more about her in general.

OMG Miss Martian from Saturn was nearly a thing?! That idea was rattling in my brain ONLY because of those distinctive pointy ears, which J'onn does not have. I was seriously on the money?!
The origin I like (for any version of M'gann) is a White Martian who ran away as a child to one of Saturn's moons and came to embrace their culture, hence basing her default form on them.
Would I enjoy seeing DCAU's Miss Martian's backstory? Yes.

M'gann may be a descendant of a group that fled Mars generations ago to avoid persecution way before the invasion, just because the last generation on Mars were pacifists doesn't mean it had always been that way, every civilisation has a history.
May it be unrest between white and green with white martians ultimately being whiped out or other issues that lead to these people fleeing their home planet, there would have been a lot of distrust towards main planet Martians.
These people would've done everything in their power to avoid detection from Mars, so they would have created an effective way to shield their colony from Martian mind reading and they would have cut themselves off from the world to avoid being discovered.
Meanwhile on Mars they would have quietly been erased from the history books as to not acknowledge the ugly parts of Martian history.
Several generations later J'onn wouldn't know about their existence and his powers wouldn't be able to detect them either when he starts looking for survivors, until M'gann shows up.

It could also be possible that the green Martians weren't as benevolent as they are depicted, and in the DCAU could have created one or two slave races that they used to mine material from Saturn, if it's one it could be the red race (Jem) but if its two it could be Red and White, allowing Jem (if you want to canonize him) and Megan. You can then say that after the green martians were wiped out, the reds and whites were left to there own devices, the whites did what whites do and declared them selves superior and enslaved the reds leading to war ( keeping the story fro the comics but tweking it for the DCAU) Which would allow Megan to keep her backstory from the comics, all be it tweaked to fit the DCAU. You can even go further by saying that in the future, the red and whites found peace and intermingled together with the reforges or immigrants from Exxor (The Wonder Twins Planet) which lead to Saturn Girls future race
It’s interesting because young justice has now introduced j’em and the red Martians, and Saturn girl in the same storyline

She was asleep since the war and the pod (and possible vault or Martin version of an air raid shelter) had tech to help her keep hidden. Only when it began to break down that Martin Manhunter began to sense he wasn't alone anymore...

Actually, if you take the overall aspects of not only what was mentioned in the video and some points from the comments, it's easy to see she's a green Martian.
Mister Martian can telepathy specific people or specific groups of people at distance. But he's not Professor X or the Phoenix force and can't just scan the minds of everyone everywhere.
Miss Martian, being a green martian off Mars and in hiding would have blocked her own telepathy as to be as hidden as possible from the white martians, Mister Imperium and the oreo cookies and cream soldiers. Just sain'.
We need her origin revealed in a JL reunion movie - as well as how Jessica Cruz became a Green Lantern. Nothing more, nothing less.

I like the idea that she’s an Imperium engineered infiltrator who doesn’t know it, and then her cover-consciousness’ heroism defeats her underlying programming, like fake J’onn in the tie in comic. Her being an engineered infiltraitor rather than just a shapeshifter Imperium Drone would cover why she lacks Drone weaknesses and has Martian weaknesses
or you can just say that she was a imperium drone that possessed more martian qualities to be less suspicious, so she has all of the martian weaknesses and abilities and lacks the drone sunlight weakness.
J'onn reaching out with his mind to find other Martians: Wouldn't the other Martians have cut themselves off psychically to protect themselves from being found by the enemy?

i would love to see more of miss martian and of jessica cruez. heck why not have them be apart of there own team with batgirl, a return of supergirl, bring in donna troy, and jessie quick. and have them be called the super friends and have them in a battle against harley quinn and her secret sorority that has lena luthor, sinestra, killer frost, silver swan, and fire witch.

One of the easiest plot devices would be a lame "something shielded her in stasis, unconscious". I don't think it has been established that MM could still detect an unconscious being locked away somewhere, right? Cheap and boring, but it would be functional.

I think I would love to see Miss Martian canonized in an actual comic, and I would definitely love to see more of her.
Well, there is one other, very very simple solution to the problem of M'gann M'orzz not being sensed, and it would give further parallels between superman and J'onn. She was in cryogenic (or the martian equivalent) sleep. No mind to reach out to if it's basically on ice. No neurons firing, no brainwaves to sense. She's basically dead at that point for all intents and purposes, and when she's woken up, her brain will restart, her heart will start beating again, and she'll be alive. Possibly even with enough of a small community that they could restart the martian presence on Mars, not unlike the situation in the Young Justice cartoon.
In fact, those continuities could work alongside each other quite well because in the YA continuity, J'onn has been on earth for decades, and there's been superhero presence since at least the 1950s, as there are legacy characters all over. Dr. Kent Nelson, jay Garrick, etc. Granted, Batman couldn't be a thing there, but I'm of the opinion that Bruce has clones of himself in the basement so that he can always continue his mission xD
At any rate, it's said in YA, that Megan is 48 earth years old in season 1, time enough for something to have happened on Mars, and even for M'gann to actually be J'onn's biological niece.
We need a bigger community for the old DCAU the whole universe was great
