  • A common question asked by students is "how much do chartered accountants earn?"
    I look at the highest salaries you can expect as an ACCA/CPA/CA when choosing to work in popular countries, and break down the pros and cons of each place.
    Qualifying as a chartered accountant is a lot of hard work but it opens the doors to a lot of high paying careers. In this video you will have a good idea of what these countries pay and also be a useful guide in negotiating salaries when offered a position.

    I would like to say a big thanks for the video, I’m currently based in Ireland and studying to be an accountant. What I enjoyed the most is the fact that you gave an in depth review of the salaries in each of the countries and not just one.

      It'd be difficult if I'm honest to get a work visa based off that. You would be going in for very junior level roles at that level of qualification. Once you've got some work experience it'd be a lot easier for firms to consider roles for you.
      The USA is extremely difficult to get roles at junior levels as they legally need to prove that no one in America can do the same job before hiring someone foreign.

    • @ThatMuslimLife

      Id be careful to begin with if you’re moving there with acca, I don’t believe there’s a reciprocal agreement of the acca to local requirements so it’s not on the same level as local qualification.

      @@ThatMuslimLife thank you! is ACCA or ICAEW better for being hired as a junior accountant?

    • @ThatMuslimLife
      @ThatMuslimLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I get asked this question a lot (probably should make a video about it!) but I would say simply it depends on the work experience you’re getting. Having a qualification after 2 years with no work experience isn’t going to be great for you. With the ACA you HAVE to be with accredited training provider so by default you’ll receive work experience. Of course you can’t become a fully qualified accountant without work experience.
      Look at the company and their clients, see how much hands on experience you’ll get.

      @ThatMuslimLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Every country has their preferred qualification. Sometimes they'll accept foreign qualifications based on agreements between the accounting bodies but not always. It means you'll struggle to get jobs if you don't have the recognized qualification of the country (even if you're qualified in your home country). USA is pretty strict about their accountants needing CPA and vice versa Indian CA qualification is better if based in India

      Honestly it wont be recognised as much as the CPA. You would have to work for a very very large company for them to even know what ACCA is. That being said, to become an ACCA member you need 3 years work experience and so that should be the thing that makes you stand out.
