      A question I do have is, Is it worrying that I dont really have something specific to goal towards, career wise. All the roles sound so intresting to me and I even want to do something that would involve Data science as FinTech is a growing industry, but I just dont know what exactly to do now. I'm about to start my professional career at PWC as audit associate but just going with the flow now

      Start your career and go with the flow for now. But make sure you talk to as many people as possible, networking will give you ideas and opportunities. Spend your first 2 years networking as much as possible (fellow peers and more experienced professionals). I've made a video on networking and also one about working in tech so do check them out! I'll be making one about tech companies soon.

    Plz reply to this if you have some insight, I'm an ACCA student, and I'm really interested in Data analytics, so I would love to do a master's in business analytics and specialize in finance, I'll be studying, financial modelling, risk management, time series analysis for forecasting, fintech/data science in finance, python: into to programming, SQL, power BI, Tableau, excel, some math's/stats, Decision making, research methodology etc courses.
    What do you think, can something like this work? ACCA + data analytics? Is there a job market for something like this?

      @ThatMuslimLife  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes there’s a massive market for this knowledge but you have to decide what you want. If you go down the accountant route you won’t use any of that programming knowledge. I would leverage your skills to a portfolio strategy role as it’ll require you to use your data skills plus your finance skills. The best entry path would be get solid finance experience and enter data competitions or use your data skills in your job. Then after 1 year pivot to a strategy role.

    @TML In the UK, Do ACAs (ICAEW) earn/progress comparatively more than only ACCA? Especially in large organisations?

    • @ThatMuslimLife
      @ThatMuslimLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question and people look at the results the wrong way round. Yes more top positions for those that have ca qualifications are nearly always ACA not because ACA is seen better but because the top firms almost always make their people do ACA. All ACA people are working in accountancy firms , big4 etc and getting top work experience and training, whereas more acca people are studying exams and not always working or working in top jobs at the same time.
      The knowledge is the same between the two but work experience is different due to big firms doing ACA . So do either but get good work experience is the takeaway message.

      @@ThatMuslimLife Actually I first did ACCA, then went for ACA because it has far more prestige and growth potential in Pakistan as compared to only ACCA. ACA is more or less considered equal to our local CA here. The reason you explained that top organisations hire ACA especially at the top is because they have very high grades from University/school and are far less in number than ACCA right? I agree, knowledge is pretty much the same in both but top employers probably have more ACAs at the top because they would prefer to hire people with their own qualification right? Such as if a director is ACA, he'd prefer to hire an ACA in his company instead of ACCA?

    • @ThatMuslimLife
      @ThatMuslimLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I’d agree with you fully :)
      However after 10 years of work experience no one looks at your university or qualification, they’ll hire you for the work experience you have,

      @@ThatMuslimLife Right. So basically for starters at early stages of their career, ACA does have more worth in big organisations than ACCA?

    Would you need to have a degree to enter these big firms/job roles. I am currently doing a school leave program at a big financial firm that doesnt offer a degree but offer the completion of ACA after the 5 years

    • @ThatMuslimLife
      @ThatMuslimLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this route is becoming more common. A lot of very intelligent students take this route if they know they will end up applying to be a C.A. You will definitely be attractive for these roles as you have the qualification and work experience - after 5 years of working no one cares too much about your degree.
