Riku (the armor) is around 85-90. But PDL (the real one that controls the armor) is probably around 95-100. We LN readers will have to wait a long, long time again to what will happen since in volume 15-16, there was no action or fights which made some of the LN readers slightly mad because they waited for a long time for it to be released and they probably was expecting a fight or some action.

The PDL believes that he is one step ahead of Ainz, but Ainz is already at least 14 steps ahead when that happens.

Unless you tried to purposely look for tells, you can’t really tell him apart from Ainz. His mimicry is pretty good.
I feel like normally I would've noticed the orb missing but I was so focused on tryna be Sherlock Holmes and figure out the enemy's motive, mission, etc. that i ended up blinding myself to something obvious.

The moment Albedo was casual with "Ainz" I knew it was Pandoras Actor.
Couple of notes to remember,
~Pandora's Actor was given backup gear and used limited amount of magic.
~Pandora's Actor also wasn't trying to kill PDL, his entire fight was to find elemental weaknesses and to see how PDL fought.
~Funnily enough Ainz would have done everything Pandora's Actor did. Later on he praises Pandora's Actor for kneeling, saying it was a beautiful move.
Another note just for some people wondering, Ainz's orb inside his chest is actually a world item and one of his trump cards. While it is unknown what exactly it does it is said to have a strong effect against dragons. It is also stated that his world item drains him of his level when used. In the web novel it was an item that helped destroy half the forces of players who tried to invade Nazarick in Yggdrasil.
They didn't know "Riku" was PDL's armor at this point though right?
I actually think when Albedo rushed over she wasn’t acting. In that moment she wanted to kill Pandora’s actor for kneeling in front of someone while looking like that.

@@flowwy_ They know that the armor was not their actual opponent, but rather being operated remotely. Pandora's Actor figures this out from the way Grasp Heart fails and the way the health bars behave. We have not in the anime yet been shown any indication that they know who was controlling 'Riku', but we can certainly guess that they would investigate that.
@@flowwy_ I don't think they knew WHO was controlling the armor exactly, but the armor design being clearly draconic in nature and silver/platinum in color is something of a giveaway. Still, they had to consider that that might be a red herring, I'm sure.
I mean the fact that anyone can even fight the level 100 npcs at all isn't something to scoff at.
And that was just his remote controlled armor....
I mean none of the NPCs were taking it seriously, this was all just for gaining information. PDL would be easily destroyed if any of the Level 100 NPCs decided to go all out.

@@diostaku2 Also, Platinum Dragonlord is likely heavily inspired by Bahamut, which is a very popular, well-known platinum dragon in D&D lore. A dragon god, pretty much. Popular enough that he inspired a lot of Japanese RPGs. Maruyama, the author, would definitely know, being a Japanese D&D enthusiast.
Bahamut has no control over the element platinum. He's just a high level "platinum dragon", which tons of draconic magic. Either he's using remote telekinetic powers or using an artifact that has proxying as one of its abilities.

@@kohuya1885 This is basically official. It comes from Maruyama himself, not the Web Novel. What we got from the Web Novel is a feat of the orb: it killed half of a player invasion.
Through this episode I found it weird how albeto was talking to Ainz. I noticed she talked to Ainz a lot as if she was telling him what to do and talking to him as if you would a co-worker. The ending surprised me a lot.
That right there was the immediate dead giveaway for me. Albedo was stiff, not impolite, but informal and casual, as opposed to her normal over-the-top lovey-dovey bowing and scraping. Then you notice the red orb isn't there and it all clicks. This is a big-brain move.
I'd say the red orb not being there wasn't really a dead give away that it was PA since in Season 2 PA had the Red orb on him to pretend to be Ainz. But the dead giveaways were Albedo tone, Ainz's thinking voice, Ainz's emotions not being inhibited by his class, and Ainz bowing before an enemy.
Ainz congratulated (don't know if this is the best word to use here lol) Pandora's Actor for kneeling, as it is something he himself would do every time if it could bring benefit to Nazarick
@@flowwy_ I think Ainz was more happy with getting the info then the bowing. I know Ainz would do whatever it takes to benefit Nazarick. But optics do matter, that's one of the reasons why he always striving to be prefect and a ruler without faults because of the people living in Nazarick who view him as such. Take Albedo in this situation, she was upset that Pandora's Actor did get on his hands and knee even though it helped get info on the armor's user. To her, that act of bowing tarnished Ainz's great image.
Just for reference. When pandora actror is copying, he is far weaker than original. Not to mention that doppelganger usually fights by switching to more advantage classes depending on enemy, while he was using the build weak to the dragon guy's build. Meaning it is still not exactly his match.
And there is another detail, Ainz forbade PA to use his most powerful attacks.
I also though it was strange that Ainz took time to explain things. I didn't see the twist coming but seeing it, I was like "OOOOO okay that make seance"

Actually he can copy all your skills. He just doesn't have your mindset or the ability to use world items. Same reason he kneeled in fear, something Ains would never do even if his enemy is stronger
If I remember correctly PA pissed off Albedo and Demi for demeaning the Image of Ainz, only for Ainz to Praise PA and say that is something he himself would have done. PA being the real MVP this episode XD
This really shows that PA is the only guardian that really understands Ainz.
As an anime only, I notice that when Ainz was narrating in his head he wasn't using his 'real life' voice like he usually does but used his overlord voice. Which for me gave it away that something's up. Then he started kneeling and i was like 'yup no way in hell that Ainz lol'
Its when Pandoras Actor tried to use Graph Heart and failed that he knew there was on one in the armor, not when he used Life and Mana Essence. Even those who have resistance against Grasp Heart's instant death would get knocked back from the spells 2nd effect, which didn't work there because there was nothing in the armor

Ains bowing and trying to frantically explain the situation to mr. Silver armor made me recoil, because at that point I knew something was off. Even if Ains was pushed to a corner, he still would not bow to anyone. Completely forgot that Pandora’s actor exists.
That is actually wrong, in the novel Ainz flatters PA and says that he would have done the same to get info, although the NPCs are not happy about that and convince him never to do something like that.

Ainz is not a genius fighter nor a master strategist (think similar to Shalltear), many of his problems are solved thanks to:
(a) Plot armor (whenever he does something, it usually ends well for X reason).
(a) His character is top level and has the best items so most surprise attacks, or attacks in general, would not do that much damage.
b) He has a lot of combat experience (from a GAME) so he knows how to avoid certain attacks/situations or at least take precautions. (this is where he shines)
c) Resources, lots of them, both Nazarick itself (world items!) and the servants, they make up for all his flaws, if we talk about strategy he has Demiurge, Albedo, PA & Aura / for fighting power, Mare, Shalltear, Cocytus, and so on.
@@Rufofeli I’ve had a theory for the plot armor stuff, given that Yggdrasil is an extremely advanced mmo where every stat counts. It begs the question since luck is a standard stat it probably doesn’t show in the stat sheets since it’s doesn’t really do anything except probably affect inflicting or resisting status effects and dropping better loot. But since moving into a real world that luck stat evolved into genuine luck and Ainz most likely has a high luck stat which is why everything somehow falls into his favor
Ainz actually would have. He is more of a the end justifies the means kind of guy. Winning is all that matters in that sense.
Also, PA really was pushed to the limits by PDL's remote armor suit--PDL thought he could've killed "Ainz" here if he had some more time, and he wasn't wrong in his assumptions. PA was having a hard time dodging/parrying attacks in his Ainz form, and would've actually lost had he not bought time and caught a breather by faking a surrender. The restrictions Ainz put on PA (and PA not being allowed to shapeshift into a better form) really handicapped PA here.
@@alvaroprieto6700 Actually one of the theories regarding stats involve Ainz being a mage. Since mages in MMOs typically have high intelligence/wisdom stats (though Yggdrasil doesn't have those stats specifically), it is possible that upon being sent to the New World, Ainz's character actually became intelligent as a result (or it could have something to do with Ainz's overlord class). That's why Ainz does all those unintentionally smart things--he's smart enough to do it but doesn't think he was smart enough to do it himself lol

Best part as well is pandora’s actor can only use up to 80% of the power of the person or being he is turning into so that’s Ainz only at 80% and without a world class items
5:50 it is also important to note that Ainz has constantly been putting out baits, from when he was casting that super tier magic to Sebas, to Dwarf kingdom.
Like we all jokes about how Ainz overthink things, and yes it was all overthinking until this ONE episode that it actually came true. That is the point of preparation. 9/10, it is nothing, but for that 1 time, it saves your life.
The funny part is that Ainz was preparing for a player, which neither Azuth Aindraw nor PDL are. More -accidental- intentional Ainz outplays. _Sasuga Ainz-sama_
@@zettour. While he was looking for players, he was really preparing for ANYTHING that could be a threat. PDL definitely is in the category of 'could be a threat if we're not careful', and he's carefully baited out perfectly here. Even the assault on the village in Ep 10 was a successful bait that drew out an opponent that could easily handle the Death Knights, low tier trash as they are.
As someone that watched the pleiades shorts, the big tell that it was in fact Pandora's actor was the over dramatic GREATER TELEPORTATION.
It's kinda wild that we need to have LN readers telling us that the red orb in Ainz chest is a world item. They should have said it in some moment, I would have noticed that it was missing in this episode haha
something else that gives away that it's Pandora's actor is that he was using a relatively small ammount of death Knights as bodyguards when we have seen ainz go for either much higher level bodyguards for when he genuinely wants protection or only a couple death Knights for when he is traveling light.

I picked up that something was wrong when the dragonlord mentioned the fact that Ainz had no world item, and because I knew that his orb was a world item, that then that got me to start looking at Ainz design, which told me something was up.
I was looking at Ainz and I was wondering where his red orb was, why was his mannerisms slightly different, the “greater teleportation” kind of gave it away and then the sudden break in character with no emotional negation.
also he way he did his cloak with the greater teleportation is really funny, like one of those old dracula films
Biggest giveaway is how Albedo talks to him. Absolutely no way she would act like that if it was the real Ainz.

it's funny how at first I was like "yeah, it's probably Pandora's Actor because of how he and Albedo are talking to each other", but then the fight starts and I insta forgets my conclusion and get surprise pikachu'd at the end
My favorite line is when Albedo says "Yowai! He's like Tofu!" It's a very Asian thing to say. And it sounds exactly what someone would say in a video game like Yggdrasil.
A nice touch is that "Ainz" uses Ainz's overlord character voice for his thoughts, even though real Ainz does not

When it comes to the twist, I quickly noticed the subtle hints that it could be PA, and also I was already vaguely informed by another youtuber who also covers Overlord weekly.
But still, I was really impressed with the episode and I'm pretty sure anime onlys will also really enjoy this weeks ep.

While reading ln, I could feel the struggle of “Ainz” during battle and got me off guard. I really thought Ainz was struggling a lot during the fight until the kneeling part. It was a fun ride.

You know, the whole pandora's actor twist really did catch me offguard. I suppose him bowing his head like he did is a red flag.
Lol I was a bit confused the whole time and it caught me off guard. I'm glad this anime is still actually pulling off things like this to stay interesting. It's one of my favorites for sure.
For me it was the initial dialogue. Albedo would never talk so formally to Ainz, she always uses honorifics to address Ainz.
At first I assumed that it was translation issue. I watched with Polish subs translated from English subs and some translators lose "honorifics" in the process, literal translation from English always sounds informal. But then it turned out that it was a detail that wasn't overlooked by the translator.
For some reason Ainz vowing is something I can totally picture.
Yo, I got 100% hoodwinked. I am so salty, can't believe I didn't pick up on this. The theatrics, the visual cues, the hinting with Albedo. Darn it.
One detail I noticed was when PA was thinking it was in Ainz's voice when it's supposed to be in his human voice
I think what is scariest about Pandora's actor is he will always be your counter. You are a solid character, with an established, set in stone build; Pandora's actor from there only needs to shift into the best character to beat you, for he has no set build.
It was a part of Ainz plan to let Pandora's Actor fight to get intel about Riku. And to deceive Riku that he can actually be defeated, which Riku (or PDL) actually believed in. Which is genius tbh. Now if we're talking about PDL vs Ainz tho, we aren't really sure if it will be the usual crubstomp. There will be a fight since iirc, PDL is around about level 95-100 (correct me if I'm wrong).

It speaks volumes about the voice acting when you can infer it was really PA by the feel of Ainz's speech and articulation during this episode. You probably didn't catch on immediately, but knew something was off, and that's hard to do.
I knew it wasn't Ainz from the start because of how Albedo was talking to him, the respect wasn't there and how woefully unprepared he was on the battle field and in a stalemate with a lvl 70-80 automated remote controlled armour, i was like nah thats Pandora’s Actor 100%. Pandora’s Actor is designed for deception, imitation and information gathering not actually combat and to be honest i never thought i would see his skills get used in such a check mate manner it but after this episode i am starting to see how godlike Ainz strategies are in the art of war and its a beautiful thing to behold
The acting by Pandora's Actor made things a lot more complicated for the Dragon Lords. Now they think Ainz is the NPC, Albedo is the Player and for hell's sake, they think they have gauged Ainz Ooal Gown's power.

Many underestimate Tsar because his armor isn't that strong, but he is dangerous, he has managed to kill a player in the past and we know he feels confident that he can defeat Albedo (and Shalltear) if he fights seriously. Not to mention that he might convince his buddies to join him🤔
He was completely outmaneuvered here and he doesn't know that Ainz has 11 WCI but he is still an actual threat.
He is not confident about Albedo tho! He is only confident about Shalltear and Ainz cause they are undead and he counter them because of his build.
Plus he apparently has a trump car wild magic attack which is supposed to be very powerful
@664 Bodan Ainz is the only one who is guaranteed to have a WCI on him and the 1m souls thing is only the case for that one princess cause she's a descendant. Dragon lords use their own souls for wild magic

Only now i noticed, Albedo wasn’t mad that the knight was attacking “Ainz”, she was mad that the knight was shit-talking about Ainz
At this point Pandora Actor isn't really lvl 100.
1. He can only copy 80 % of ainz strength so he is around lvl 80.
2. Ainz wanted to get a lot of information out of him so he wanted the fight to continue as long as possible.
3. Pandoras Actor was forbidden to use most of his strongest skills.
4. He was given worse items that you would normally have at that level.
This is not me fanboying over Ainz. This was stated exactly like this in the LN.
Sure PA would have won well "easy". But PDL is one of the few being in the New World who is not a Pushover. He should probaly around Level 70-80+ and is in posesion of i think 2 Yagrasil Player world Items.

those power suits were any where from lvl 70-80 (depending on the rarity) and there 2 main uses in yggdrasil were to help new players/accounts power level by letting that new player/ alt account fight in higher level areas for quick exp or in the case of high level guilds they could take that new player/alt account on high level raids without having to worry about said player getting insta killed and losing the exp they were gaining (you lost 5 levels each time you died in yggdrasil) since the suit would let the player survive any mobs/attacks that broke past the defenses and made it into the backline where the player(s) being power leveled were at, the suits also served as a way to help new/alt accounts of players avoid being PKed by higher level players by allowing them to fight back or atleast escape since PKing was a major issue in the game that alot of high/max level players engaged in so the games devs made the suits to make it easier for new/alt players (esp ones with out a guild to back them up) to deal with the PKing players.
Plot twist: This whole time Ainz has been Cautious Hero....
I guarantee you that many anime viewers didn't notice this subtle detail of the red orb missing in Season 2, in fact, it was done quite often.
I feel like the biggest giveaway for It being pandora's actor and not Ainz is how albedo was talking with basically no respect to him right before she flew off

Great analysis. I wonder if Pandora could have actually broken free at any time, but let himself look weak. With the tap of a finger, Pandora hid that Abeula is a NPC, that Ainz isn’t, that the Floor Guardians are each individually a match for that puppet and that Ainz is a league beyond them all combined.
The most obvious part that made one suspect it weren't Ainz was when Pandora's actor got interrupted in the speech saying something along the lines of "Wait, I'm not done speaking yet!??" and then proceeded to act like a salaryman or whatever one would like to call it, essentially a door seller begging their client to listen to their offer. Ainz got neutral emotions because of his state, yet we did not see the calming effect kick in. The current Ainz would never act as a salaryman begging them on his knees to listen to him as his reputation would be too important for that, even if his goal would be to obtain information, if anything, capturing and torturing the target would be more likely.
I don't agree calling this opponent his match, because even as far as puppetry goes, the platinum armor did not manage to deal any damage to Pandora's actor, heck, the dragon thought he could beat Ainz if he would be prepared enough, but it would be hard. Just let me remind you, Pandora's actor severly limited himself to use only Ainz class, the summoned doom lord was a good match against the platinum armor puppet, only being brought down due to impatience and ending the "act". The dragon told his comrade through the platinum armor puppet that he was sorry, that he was no match for Ainz this time (which we know was just Pandora's actor) so the kingdom will unfortunately fall, but could potentially beat him with proper preparations now after having that encounter.
Having only seen the anime, I'm fairly certain that this dragon who knows of players and npcs has already been outplayed and isn't strong enough to be Ainz match. Feeding your opponent misinformation and giving them the false idea that they can do something is certainly something very much like Ainz as we have seen over and over. Oh and Pandora's actor certainly spoke way more than Ainz would had in such a duel even if information was the goal, reason being, Ainz try to be very aware of his position and thus what he say, yet despite that, everyone still misinterpret the few words that he say anyway, praising him as a supreme being, thinking way beyond anyone else's capabilities.

If an argument is to be made that Ainz would never hand out that specific World-Class item to Pandora, even with the foresight that a player or strong entity could possibly appear, I'm curious as to why Ainz would lend this World-Class item to Pandora during a situation where it really wouldn't be necessary. e.g. Zebas's proof of loyalty scene where it's clearly shown that Pandora is in possession of the item.
because Sebas would notice the orb missing, Sebas knows Momonga, PDL doesnt.

The LN said it definitely. He essentially said something similar when he was instructing Shalltear back when he mistakenly thought someone killed the Death Knights protecting the dwarven city.

You can always tell when its Pandora's Actor, he has little personal quips that give him away when he's trying to stay in character, or when he strait breaks it but I'm sure that break was for people who hadn't caught on yet. And the way Albedo talks to him is always off, maybe cause she don't really like him lol. I think what you said about believing Ainz would also go so far as to grovel for the sake of gaining more information will be addressed next episode. If I remember the light novel right, the floor guardians are mad at PA for debasing Ainz's image before this strange armor but Ainz praises him for it, declaring that he does not care about his image so much as he cares about his ultimate victory.
I dont think Ainz would kneel down to anyone. Just remember the system prevents him to do uncharacteristic expressions. The fact that in season 1 and season 3, the system prevents him to go on all out rage.
Also Ainz would scout out things about the opponent in internet or videos then fighting them in somewhat limitations to gather info. He doesnt lose on purpose. He will only limit himself to the basics of what his class is. Do remember Ainz exceeded the possible skill set for the Overlord class. Kinda like should have only 400 but he has 730+. He will only limit himself to that 400 and then demolish the enemy after that.
Since the pvp rules are kinda like a best of 3 matches. Scouting the abilities in 1st round and then demolishing them on the 2nd and 3rd matches.
He would kneel and did in fact in bonus volume. When facing against Elim Cure, he acted like a snivelling idiot to get more info on the dragon lord. Hence, why he defended Pandora’s Actor’s actions when other Guardians were mad at him for bowing as Ainz in front of PDL.
Ainz himself said he would have done the same thing.

Also don't forget the chip in the silver armor was from shellter when she was first brainwashed.

You can first notice Pandora doesn't have the red orb. Albedo isn't pulling her usual shit, also when Pandora casts Greater Teleportation he does the exaggerated movement we also see during Tuare's interrogation.
The only way PDL wins vs Ainz in a 1v1 is if Ainz leaked all info on his build and PDL had proper prep and help. In a straight fight power for power, Ainz wins. I'm not talking about builds or anything just PDL vs Ainz. The reasoning is simply how Cautious PDL MUST act against players and given how long it took him to get rid of underlvl'd and geared players. He even thinks the armor Red Drop is using is good...so much so he thinks someone else could use it better. That's like thinking Tuvala in BDO is viable for endgame PVP. However it gets worse when Ainz is feeding incorrect information to PDL.
Ainz is stronger in terms of raw power and level (PDL assumed to be around lvl 95), but PDL actually poses a threat to Ainz in a 1v1. PDL has a build that already somewhat counters Ainz, and has access to wild magic which is a complete wild card as it ignores and bends the rules of Yggdrasil (which makes it extremely potent against Yggdrasil entities). The New world system itself doesn't really follow Yggdrasil's rules, which further complicates things. Later in the LN PDL even enchants his armors using wild magic to be immune to negative energy (Ainz's specialty) and be extremely resistant to Yggdrasil magic (hard countering magic casters like Ainz). Ainz's build isn't really specialized for PvP either, which also makes things more challenging. Though Ainz still has his WI which should counter Dragon Lords, PDL and his wild magic in the New World system can and likely will cause major complications. Most of the spells Ainz used against Shalltear also may not work against PDL for various reasons (with Dragon Lords having a track record of having immunity to time stop and instant death spells, even if buffed with TGOALID).

@@Hekk. No, that's why I specifically mentioned TGOALID in my earlier comment (read the last part). Even back in Yggdrasil there were DLs immune to instant death spells, even if buffed by TGOALID (which is a buff spell for instant death spells).

That is enough to pose a major threat to Ainz, especially if PDL happens to have some additional immunities some Dragon Lords are known to have (I.E. the time stop and complete instant death immunity, the latter which ignores even TGOALID).
Besides, if you were going to bring up Cure elim vs Ainz, that fight was a clusterfuck due to everything going wrong for Cure elim (assuming we take that alternate plotline as canon) even according to Ainz, even though Ainz was always going to have the upper hand in that specific matchup.

ive seen some ppl thinking that if it was Ainz instead of Pandora's Actor he wouldve whipped out p.dragon lord . But the thing is , even Pandora's Actor could do it just as good . He is Ainz's direct creation and one of the strongest npc in nazarick and tasked as the area guardian nazarick's treasury . Even if he has 80% of the stats of the ppl who he can transform into he is still on that level . Another thing to note is that Pandora was ordered to not use powerful magic and only use one high tier magic (i think that was the doom lord summoning ? correct me if im wrong) because his n Albedo's main goal was to 1. gain info and 2. fool the enemy .
Met his match with who? Ainz was at home, Pandora was researching. Albedo was on guard. Riku met a wall.
The conversation with Albedo was all you needed to get that it's Pandoras Actor.....
Another cool detail I noticed is that when Pandora’s Actor is talking to himself as Ainz, you don’t hear his usual internal monologue voice and instead it all sounds like his talking voice.
Red armor bro really went toe to toe with albedo just to be called "The Other One" damn
Another key hint from when Ainz was fighting level 100 NPC Shalltear in season 1 is he cast the "triple maximize" version of many of his spells increasing their power/duration/etc.. He didn't do that in this fight indicating he wasn't fighting at his highest level, or that it wasn't him fighting in the first place.
4:00 I've read the light novels first and am only just catching up on the anime, but I thing that makes it harder to catch with the novels (at least for the version I read) is that it doesn't do well with translating 'tone'. Like, I know that in Japanese there are speech styles and honorifics that are difficult to translate to English text, which some fan translations don't really elaborate on.

I felt dumb for not noticing It was PA. I noticed from the start that everything was weird, Ainz wasn't acting like he does, all the signs were there and make sense in hindsight, but I didn't consider PA a possibility. Only that somehow Ainz was playing 4D chess somehow and goofying out as part of it
But that aside, damn PA is quite strong on his own. Don't underestimate doppelgangers

You said PDL aka the Platinum Armor guy is a Lawful Good aligned character but at the end of the episode he thinks to murder the Azuth to take the Red armor and give it to someone else who is more obedient and also reminisces that his hands have become dirty (as in evil).. So he was a Lawful Good in the past but not now
