Exactly. You'd expect seasoned warriors to be more suspicious than that. C'mon! All that gold sitting in the outside mausoleums without any guards? That was such an obvious trap that Nfirea's ass could have seen it with all that hair in his face.
In a way you can say that his death was pretty bad for his type of character, being tortured for eternity would have been good for a dick like him, but being squashed like a bug when he thought he was a big shot fits pretty nice, especially when the slaves he had saw him be nothing more than a flea in this world. Also make a head canon where they resurrect him and feed him endlessly to the creatures of Nazarick.
While it is annoying that the asshole got off easy compared to everyone else, I prefer this to the alternative. Lots of people would rather have seen him go to Neuronist, but that would unfortunately mean that the poor elf slaves would have been the ones fed to Kyouhukou. Hamusuke and the lizards are probably the only ones in Nazarick who wouldn't have horribly killed the girls without a second thought. This way at least the jerk is dead, I can be satisfied with that.

Overlord is underrated because some or most people can't accept the fact that the protagonist is the "bad guy"
it's because people have this expectation that the main character is going to be a hero. It's why I say that shounen anime has spoiled people.

In defense of Ainz for his action against the invaders, his undead body literally took his humanity away from him. He sees humans as pretty much nothing because his emotions are controlled by his body. If you remember in the first season the only reason he went to save Carne village was because Sebas being near reminded him of the time Touch Me saved him form PKers. He is really undead and the only reason he isn't trying to wipe out humanity is because of his former life.
Nope. Undead do hate life, but the reason why he doesnt is not just cause of his life as a human, but also cause he is calmed by one of his passive skills. It works only on stronger emotions, but you can see his hate for life sometimes go through in his actions and his monologues in the WN.
When you are playing a game, humans are pretty much nothing actually.
See, him killing them is fine. Him striping them of their memories and tossing them out of the tomb is also fine. Him actively taking people into custody to do horrible things for them and abuse healing magic to prolong the suffering isn’t in my opinion. I think even a purely logical person would think that’s unreasonable for people you’ve actively tricked into the trap. Funnily enough, him supplying the adventurers with gold at the start actively attracted their attention. It’s like an apple of eden situation. He wanted them to fail. If he didn’t. Why did he make it so appealing.

About the clipped Elf ears, appearantly Elves that were sold in the Theocracy have their ears clipped, as part of the "breaking" process.
Worst part is that Elves are good with magic, and many of them know low level regen spell (lots of healers know it, its not from yggdrasil) and mid level healing spells that can make their ears grow back. So even if they will use those, slavers will just cut them off again.
Oh, actually as a gamer... If I see a lot of treasure at the beginning of a dungeon, I would think that the game is telling me to go and buy lots of potions and prepare for what's inside. like it's telling me a boss fight is about to go down.

thats what ainz tried to do, the last attempt for them to leave with the gold at the beginning and not enter the tomb, but don't get it wrong he just didn't want them to dirty the floors with their dirty boots.

Really, I've started reading the light novel and it's super fun, of yours the Anime is more epic, but you'll learn so much things in the LN and it's so much more story.

In the light novel, the whole act with him was MUCH MUCH MORE BRUTAL. Alas adaptation issues arise but the men were eaten inside out and then healed over and over again to feed the family, how lovely!

Don't forget that everytime the man opened his mouth, cockroaches would go in, then he throws up, but the pain is so strong that he screams again, and they go in once again, causing him to throw up, but there are too many cockroaches in his throat, that he can't throw up.
No sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but just to clarify Eruya(the samurai) didn’t cut off the elves ears. They were slaves he bought from the Slane Theocracy and cutting their ears like that is one of the methods they use to make them obedient. Not that it makes Eruya any less of a scumbag.The reason he had that particular slave walk in front of him despite having no defensive skills was because he wanted her to die so he could get a new slave with bigger breast.
That guys death was way too quick, ah well, It's comforting to know the elves will have happy lives after this.

Not sure if I'm remembering this right, but I think there was a line in the light novel where Ainz mentioned that if they had taken the initial gold and tried to flee with it, they would have been chased down. He wasn't willing to let them escape after knowing their intentions going in.
Dont know bout LN, but in WN he was going to let them leave with the gold. That was the whole point of leaving that much gold so early, so they woild take it and leave (it wasnt the Nazarik gold, just some gold from his quests).
I wonder how much Albedo and Shaltear know of Neuronist's badmouthing of them.

Disagree on the "any gamer would fall into that trap"... most games that make looting tedious require an entirely different approach. The approach that I take is to avoid looting until all the main threats are neutralized.
If you're super wealthy and just don't care about looting everything, then sure, you'll loot as you go, but that wasn't what these workers were. They needed all the money they could get.
Otherwise, if you loot while you delve deeper, the loot will only get in the way. Plus, in real life, looting nullifies your chances of bargaining with anyone inside the tomb.

I have expirience. Believe me, it feels hell.
Both of my sisters gave birth and had kidney stones, they said kidney stones was more painful. I had kidney stones, the only thing to do is get painkillers and drink lots of water for the 1 week or 3 months for them to pass. Kidney Stones = Pearls that are not smooth

Can we just take a moment to appreciate our lord Hiroshi Kamiya for his forever amazing voice acting, he still is and always will be my favourite Seiyuu (He voiced the cockroach guy, Kyouhukou, as well as many other famous characters like Araragi, Law, Levi, Izaya, Mephistopheles).
Glad Ainz decided to add the personal touch of taking on that last workers group himself. Can’t wait to see another episode of despair next week. Thank for another great vid

one thing you did not mention is that the samurai wanna be is from the slain theocracy and thats why he sees demi humans as well... trash and the elf slaves are "broken" before beind sold and is the traders who cut their ears... never the less the novel also tells you he used them as sex slaves and he was thinking of getting rid of one because he was bored of her and wanted to have his way with Imina for the nasty way she looked at him.... trashy guy indeed, im quite disaointed he as you said got off easy! lucky bastard.
funny thing they did not showcase how in the cockroach room they were regular roaches and as big as one meter... also in the scene where shaltear, Aura and Albedo are having their day off they mention that Entoma actually go and visits that place and refers to it as "the snack room".... i find her eating human flesh less revolting lol.

Hamsuke is around lvl 30's and the entire party that entered the tomb are most likely below 20
i thought he was around 60 or so. he was the guardian of a forest
Imperial Guardsmen Still, that jerk swordsman is said to rival Gazef, I would think someone of that level would put up more of a fight
Gazef is "weak" but has a strong heart and strong sense of duty. He succeeds through perseverence whilst the nameless samurai never really fought a fight that got him into a losing position... at least I think so, the Elven Slaves only buff him with a reminder. And then don't even bother defending him when it was clear he was going to die. If they had been in similar positions before and not helped him only for him to winout they would've been super-punished or killed.
If you follow my logic here.
Hamsuke was like lv 30ish, but he had been power leveled, may be high 30s or 40 now. Gazef was also set at 30 as head warrior, this guy is probably only mid 20. I m more curious at lizardmen because I thought they were like in the teens but now strong enough to spar with Hamsuke.
little confused that Albedo could bring up the command screens in this episode but Ainz couldn't when they first arrived in the New World, can someone explain it?

albedo use the base command menu(npc, upkeep management, customization, etc), iirc can only be used in the throne room

So Nazarick has its own command console screens and stuff for defense and other purposes. What Ainz was referring to in the first episode was essentially his player console that contains stuff like his skills and inventory.

In the web novel pestonya heals their ears but in the LN it hasent been mentioned.
But the aim of the mission was exploring the tomb, the treasure are just bonus.
They survive and are now servants of aura and mare.

It was much worse than eating skin actually. Later in the novels, it was described that those cockroaches entered every hole in her body which rendered her being unable to eat any solid food due to the trauma it caused.

edit: all my years of playing various rpg, be they tabletop or vid game, experience taught me that honeypots are guaranteed death traps and that was clearly a honeypot. if the small outlaying crypts are full of gold and the first encounter is with creatures of such a low level there is something up and its time to do 1 of 2 things, cheat or retreat, in tabletop rpg its better to retreat because the cheat option is not there usually and in a vidgame cheating can have consequences as dire as Leeroy Jenkinsing a level boss raid room so retreat it is. of course this comes after years of exp with occasions where i or a fellow campaigner pulled a hard core stupid and waltzed right into such a op trap and paid for it. lesson learned the _hard_ way

the "scraper" neuronist had is an outdated tool for kidney stone removal.
it gets inserted into your pecker to the base of the uretra and everything in there gets scraped out while medication does the rest(antibiotics and LOTS of painkillers).
If you think the bug dinner is better. Just imagine yourself being eaten alive then they heal you before you die so that you can be eaten all over again.

same, everytime I watch an Overlord episode I know there's gonna be chibi reviews making the whole thing a lot more satisfying lol, the thing with the elder lich in the anime was somewhat confusing to me since it was like cops and robbers, but the way you explained it made me laugh. Also, I laugh everytime you upload one of these Overlord reviews, they're just so damn funny (never forget Bone daddy Ainz lol).

One rule i have learned from D&D, and one I try to preach to my dungeon crawlers, is go back before you can't. This episode literally just made a perfect example of what happens when you ignore that rule.

There's only one thing that disappointed me about this episode though. No one on one duel between Momon and the elder adventurer. I really think they rushed this one. But still a good episode.
Yeah, I wish they would have included the momon v elder guy duel, it would have been intresting. But over all, still a good episode, now prepare for the main event, Ainz Ooal Gown.

The scumbag swordsman with elf slalves, I like how his death turned out.. he was humiliated so much.. and the elves to see his despair was nice, and how he saw how happy they were to see him suffer was one of the most badass part of the episode.. if one is on his shoes, I know it would break the person so badly..
Small correction, the group that stayed outside was defeated by a special group called the Nazarick Old Guarders, not free mob spawns. Old Guarder's equipment is much better then the free spawns.
