I just recently got a square strike and I am in love with it. I didn't have a 4 iron so had room for it . Just used it yesterday for the first 9 holes and it got me up and down 2 out of 3 times. I'm an 8 handicap and struggle with chipping, so gladly adding to my bag.

Hey Matt...Love your vids! I own the 45, 55, and 60 square strike wedges...I play to about an 18 hndcp and, always have had issues in chipping and, in my short pitches...I think these clubs are a game changer for a high handicapper who lacks some confidence around the greens...Can't tell you how pleased I was to see a video with an accomplished player who, actually likes the configuration of these clubs...I've always felt a bit humbled to pull one of these out of the bag but, THEY WORK!!...The infomercial tells you not to hinge but, they work exceptionally well with a wrist hinge...BTW, I too own a Pinemeadow, "Last Wedge"...They work well for flipping hamburgers, IMHO, LOL....Keep up the good work!! Watched your video several times and other video reviews of the Mazel Chipper. As a golfer always try to lower my score and my chipping adding unnecessary strokes, I purchased this product. It performs just as shown in the video. It is not a magic wand, but does help with the yips and getting over sand traps etc. Worth the money to me! Thank you for the in depth review, I love the energy you bring to your videos. FORE!

I picked up the Mazel 55° and it works for me. I find that short shots over a bunker, or short shots to the green inside of 50-60 yards are easier.

  • @dzaz99
    @dzaz99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Own the SS in a 55° and it is the best anti-anxiety club ever made. All those chips over bunkers, short sided, etc. become easier because it's very tough to chunk and the swing is way more straightforward. Takes a bit to learn but this club will save you strokes if you have yips or other chipping malfunctions. 😂

    • @2Eaglez

Joe Garza, not good. I have several sand wedges that I like better. I use single length irons, finally found a gap 50* that is same length as my other irons and it works great. Put my 55* XE1 back in the bag it is a very good sand club and will get the ball out of heavy rough near greens but have never been able to hit it consistently from tight lies.

Larry Duncan Hi Larry, sorry, I didn’t receive a notification about your reply. My problem was that I couldn’t chip at all, inside 30 yds I was trash. I got the smart sole c after I saw one of my golf buddies using it and I tried it out. He gave me a couple of pointers...left arm straight, lock my wrists, swing it like a putter and it worked. That’s the main thing, it increased my confidence around the green. Over the past few months using it, I’ve learned to better control ball speed and trajectory by varying my swing speed, which I am translating to my 60 and 55 wedges. I’m actually transitioning away from smart sole c, not using it so much. But I still keep it in my bag 😎

Bought this used, the guy who had it previously had shortened it (so it is the same length as my putter) and put on a fat grip on it... Anywhere around 30 meters from the green I use this one and it usually gets me on the green and many times pretty close to the pin for an easy putt... I'm a complete newbie, still haven't gotten my handicap down (don't have someone to play with all the time, so I can't register my rounds)... I suspect this club will be a staying in my bag a long time...

Bought the 55* based on this review. Love the club. Helped me drop three strokes the last round I played. I really put it close with this thing. I play fairly well but I struggled with 15 yards and in. Mostly with "chunking" it. This club really does great. Feels smooth off the face too. Not too clicky. Club is short and grip is a bit thin. Shaft is soft. But...It's made for a putting stroke. It really works well if you just work the putting stroke. It works well with a full stroke too...but super consistent with that putting stroke they recommend. Also...It's pronounced Mazel ( M-ah-zahl). The "a" is soft. As in Mazel Tov. Meaning "Congratulations". "Good Fourtune". In Hebrew/ Yiddish. It's a Jewish Company.

Maybe taking a chipping lesson and practice may be a better help. There is not a club I would want to remove for this club.

Cant get the ball out of heavy rough with it. Tons of Bermuda where I am. You can lose a ball 10' off the green.

Is this the same club that helped CPG break 42 this year?

Interesting review since I thought this club was intended to be used with a putting swing technique.....

Cleveland Smart Sole 3 C wedge is just like this club. Such a good club from 100 yards in.

Appreciate the love for the comment. After your review I went and ordered the 35* Mazel wedge. I have a strange bag and love the Cleveland Smart Sole wedge I have and need a 125-130 club. At the price couldn't pass up giving it a try. Like I said very strange bag so hoping this will fill a gap I have. Keep up the excellent work on your channel. Love watching it!!

The only fair comparison would be to place the same amount of balls in the same place and shoot all of them with this, then measure the pattern. Then do the same shots with a wedge and measure the pattern. But even still, you have years of practice with the wedge, so if a chipping club performs as well having used it only a couple times it's a no brainer.

@@97evo96 I play off a low handicapper and I like using it from 100 to 30 yards in.

I agree with Rodney. I think you could hit just about anything when it comes to playing. I don't think i'd buy one.

  • @richardcharles290

Why wouldn't you get one? If your an average player, you'll face a chip/bunker on most holes. I use a Cleveland C wedge for chips and a Cleveland 56 Degree Niblick for the bunkers. Take out your 3 hybrid, that you may use 2 or 3 times a round. Don't get why golfers love to get frustrated so much. You carry a Driver for drives, why not a (legal) Chipper for chips. Yes they will save you strokes big time!

Any different from the Odessy X-act?

Same principle, but I think the Odessy has a more upright lie angle - more suited to a putting stroke.

Matt is a pretty good golfer, which is what allowed him to hit bunker shots and full swing shots with that thing, most golfers won't be able to do much more than chip with it. I've seen Matt chip a lot better with regular wedges as well.
