A new queen can still be made. It was stated in the chart thingy before. The king would find any female from any race, and mate with her. Their child would be another queen. Then that queen would make her own soldiers and finally give birth to her king, and then the cycle would simple continue

i once read the perspective of a japanese fan (of the manga) on the "older women going on dates with gon and showing him things" part. they said the implication was that gon believes any outing where it's a guy and a woman is a date and it showed how gon doesn't know/understand dates and emphasized his childishness essentially. from what i understand he acts as a tour guide for many people who come to the island and thinks those are dates which is why he says he's been on a ton of them. the whole palm thing is very weird tho i don't even know why togashi did all that
I always understood it exactly that way (him mentioning his dates with Mito-san should be telling enough) and if I may add he probably learned how to treat women on a date in general (do romantic stuff nothing sexual) when Killua obviously never felt the need or had experience in that area LOL but when you think of the women he grew around with it's quite understandable... he would be like 'women are scary' 😅😅🤣🤣
I mean it would make more sense that way but honestly bro the way it's phrased (in japanese) really seems to be ambiguous, and killua reacts to the opposite extreme (gon being a "man" bc he lost his v card, etc.)
The scene with the queen’s death wasn’t supposed to make you feel sad for her, but sad for Colt knowing his tragic past life
i felt the right thing then. i have no shred of sympathy for the queen even in her death but that baby's birth and colt's affection toward it made me teared up

How epic would a fight between Hisoka and Pitou have been? Hisoka probably would’ve lost but still that would’ve been amazing
Like morel said aura and power isn’t all that matters in a nen fight. Strategy and battle IQ.
Kurapika is a prime example he works within the nen power system with restrictions and clever use of abilities to decimate a traditionally stronger foe, like the fight with Uvo.
Nen is a bit like illusionist magic, subterfuge, keeping your power secret and misdirection can let you take down a much more raw power foe. Just like Kurapika's teacher said, it's also dependent on a match-up and circumstance. A much weaker nen user can destroy a complete monster with a tricky ability. E.g. the woman who controls people she kisses, she can defeat any target she can seduce, but useless against anyone who would be on guard around her.
I think they save the queen because Colt asked for help, it's just to pic 'humanity'

About ruling the world as a king, that just ant thing to spread their population but since they have human blood they start to add rules into it
They just slowly give the description about 'human' and 'monster'
All I kept thinking during this arc was that all the ants (from when colt is born) have humanity in them and the intelligence that comes with it. Therefore, they should be able to live in the world with other humans. The would would just change to accommodate them. Most reactots jump to the conclusion that trying to mass genocide a whole new species of equal intelligence and empathy to you was the way to go. That's wild.
Saving the queen was in hindsight super important
Its cool that Carter is already clueing into whether Meruem acts more out of role and biological instinct like the rest of the ants or out of desire like humans. He’ll forsure enjoy seeing the way that changes in his character thru the arc
You guys have to remember the Hunters arent just evil people Like Knuckle and Shoot are just Beast hunters they like exploring beasts in this world . Its said in the show that Morel is a big sweetie that's where Knuckle gets it from and why they both cry here . And the Saving the Queen Ant is just showing Mothers love and Humanity no matter what the species ., this arc contradicts its themes itself and never takes the side of anyone but thats what makes it good .
Genocide is genocide and just because you show some human qualities afterwards to just the closest figure of your life, it doesnt make you worth any sympathies or forgiveness. This arc doesnt show any high or interesting morals, its just edgy about it.
And not to speak about all the pedophilia beeing very uncomfortable.

I think he thinks that people gas up the Chimera ants arc because it has crazy fights , like shibuya , and is all about that , which it does but not in the usual shonen way ( take the entire palace invasion , it feels like a novel ) and moreover its hyped because its written so unconventionally yet masterfully

the problem is that these guys, like many others, start watching anime from a new school (jjk, demon slayer, chainsaw man) these anime prioritize fast storytelling, a lot of action, already formed vivid characters, a little fan service and humor. so when after jjk, chainsaw man and demon slayer they start watching hxh, naruto, full metal alchemist they get bored, because these anime are in no hurry, they try to tell the stories of all the characters, a large-scale world is revealed, show character development, a lot of dialogues and flashbacks. all this seems very drawn out for beginners
Yall overthink it. The same could be said about this too, expecting 120% intensity reactions on a otherwise mundane preparations episode. The highlight of the episode was the name Meruem and Kaito, otherwise what Meruem will do with that castle, what the rest of the Chimeras do, this episode is literally in a limbo of knowing just enough to not have a clue of what's next. We see more into it cause we have seen at the very least once and fully. Simple as that.

@@Cptraktorn Remember, at the beginning Gon was 12+ (we don't know how many months) during the exam; then, they spent time getting Killua back, then the tower arc, York New arc, Greed Island arc (during which Killua went to do the exam again), so we know a whole year passed, making Gon 13+. They spent a little more time in Greed Island; after that, the Ant arc begins, since then a few more months have passed, making Gon 14 (we can assume he is close to that age, if not already that age).
All this is my own personal opinios, I haven't looked anything up. I'm sure we can find that info online, but I don't want to, I like to make my own ideas of how much time has passed. They mention how many months and stuff in the episodes, others are lelf for imagination.
What's confussing is they still draw them like kids and not teenagers. I guess drawing them like that makes them look weak (we all know they're not), so adults doubt of their strength and get shocked when proven wrong.

Then last arc we’re told he’s 12 by one character. Though this is a potential plot hole given he should be around 13. But in CAA he is definitely not 14, at best he is mid 12.
@@ssj4rit at the beginning of the hunter exam, Killua asked Gon his age and he said 12, Killua then said they are the same age. That's where I'm basing it on.
The hunter exam is once a year, as said in the episodes. During Greed Island, Killua goes to do the exam, therefore a whole year has passed, adding the time they spent at the island when Killua came back and then the time that has passed during this ant arc, it's possible for Gon to be 14. We don't know for sure, bus it's possible.
in the manga the pass of time before they go to NGL is literally weeks-months, its a little longer that part of the investigation with Kite's team, you get a lot of world building that is relevant to the next manga only arc@@Cptraktorn

For me, seeing reactions to this arc is interesting, in part, because it shows how hypocritical and self-centered we humans are. We basically tell other creatures "if you do not submit to us and our customs, it is because you are evil."
Recognizing the right of chimeras to prey on us and challenge our dominance over the planet is not in contradiction with our right to try to neutralize the threat to our species and civilization. However, it is not common to find reactors that recognize that this arc was not thought as a conflict between good guys and bad guys.
The queen just hasn’t had much screen time to feel for her death. All we know about her is that she likes eating humans and wants to make a strong King. If she had more depth, maybe her death would’ve hit harder but I don’t blame people for not caring about her
because there is nothing to feel about it. Its only purpose was to give birth to the king; that's it.

@@joanseb Apart from the fact that she obviously has human characteristics which affects how she views her purpose as ant queen. Normal Ant queen gives birth to King to further the species. Ant Queen with human characteristics gives birth to King with intent for him to rule over the world akin to a Messiah.
Since you guys haven't watched it yet - Can i suggest that you watch Tower of God season 1 in preparation for season 2 in July?
It has an incredibly complex power system, and the writing is really great
It also has a lot of similarities to HxH
20:16 I'm 23 and I have been watching anime since I'm litle, at first I didn't mind it bc, because I was a child and I didn't understand how weird it was, but as I grew up, this "lolicon", "shotacon" (basically pe*ophilia) trope in anime started disgusting me so much (and a bunch of other tropes too, but the pe*ophilia one may be the worst).
And it's so f*cking common, even nowadays, it's so annoying and unnecessary, even more when some of the stories are so good, they have to ruin it with this things. For example, Mushoku tensei.
But tbh, at least HxH doesn't make it seem like it's a good thing, bc at the end, the characters with those characteristics are secondary characters and you're clearly not supposed to feel good about them behaving like that, bc they're creepy psychos, and even other characters acknowledge that.
Not like in Mushoku tensei, where the character who constantly harass and abuse women, even underaged girls, is the protagonist, a 40+ year old man reborn in the body of a child, and you're supossed to feel empathy for him.
The world, magic and animation of Mushoku tensei are so awesome, but the character writing is so repulsive that I couldn't keep watching.
