Looking by the 1990 version it's emplied that Zeno and silva when saying old guy they emply it to be of someone of seniority that of someone older than 70 or minimum 60 years old. So we can assume by the time we are I troduce to gon story netero is given he's double the age of zeno which is 120. However we also know that he was involved in the first voyage and was one of three survivors alongside zigg. zenos father. The first voyage which happened over 120 yrs if we look at the first formation of the v5 formation. Which happened after the first voyage to the dark continent. And by then netero was already around his 50. And this is me assuming from the information from the newer chapters and the chimera arc.his training where he perfect his ability was after he had gone to the dark continent the first time. I'm guessing he's pushing 200 or possibly much older because we know that there are calamities that prolonged your life. Which we see with every person that goes to the dark continent like Maha and linne.

@Francisjeddkdjd for hunter hunter,you're going to have to read in between the lines. Netero went into enlightenment at 50. In the manga , the narrator stated that Sometime after enlightenment, he stayed for a while. When he does come back, he looks much older. His hair is mid back long. I've had my hair to mid back, and it took me five years. But that's probably too technical. Also, in other references to characters like Beans. He says, " it's been 20 years since he's been telling me he's about 100 years." I believe that's in chapter 32. Might be wrong.somehwere in the 30s. So that would put him by default on Beans words at 120 yrs old. But we can expand on his age by later chapters if we read between the lines of the whole expedition arc. When the v5 was first formed and neteros' first expedition to the dark continent. So given that by Beans words, he might be no less than 120, from other context clues from the narrator, and from dark continent information, we can assume he's older than 120 or much older than 120. And I know it's a reach. Don't read between the lines. But it's hunter hunter. Literally togashi whole thing is to read between the lines. And nah, dude, I ain't high.
THE STORY TELING IN HXH Coupled with perfect narration is peak anime content
Depends on who you ask.
Personaly i don't mind, but many people dislike the Chimera ant arc due to that, too much narration.
Now the thing, its that it is something left over from the adaptation from Manga to anime.
With Togahsi's health issues he was often on breaks and hiatus.
So in the manga it was neccesary to have some narration and exposition to keep key information fresh in the minds of the readers when it was serialised weekly, since weeks/months could go by between chapters.
When they adapted this Arc, they decided to keep the narration/exposition as is, cause well, people who read the manga was used to it be a part of the story telling and pacing.
It was a conscious choice, after that people can either love it or hate it, but thats just how things are.

@@Mugthrakaeh not really true. Togashi takes longer hiatuses currently but doesn’t use a narrator in the Succession War arc nearly as much as he did here. He just lets the characters speak and think more.
imo the narrator was just a stylistic choice to give a poetic aspect to the arc.
@@Mugthrakaeven besides the hiatus there's still many reasons to have a narrator. You have parts where 2-3 episodes happen in 10 Seconds and there's a lot of complex emotions and decisions the characters make. Unless you had them screaming their thoughts constantly a lot of what makes this part so good would be lost.
Netero started doing the punches at age 46, he noticed that he can do the 10,000 before the sunset after 2 years but it wasn't until he reached 50 years old that he could do it in under 1 hour. So he trained for 4 years. Thats 14,610,000 punches.

Yes. And it still wasn’t stated when he came down from the mountains. He may have gotten it down to less than an hour when he was 50 but perfecting that last hour down to a tenth of a second could have required more time so there’s a possibility of another decade there. He looked a lot older when he challenged the martial arts school.

In his fight with meruem the narrator claimed more than a thousand punches were thrown in the fight that did not last even a minute, if I remembering that correctly. So that would mean he could do the 10,000 in about 10 minutes if he continued that pace. Hard to tell when he actually came down, like you said. I like that this detail is left vague because it means Netero is even crazier than most people give him credit for.
@@nickhernandez5600 yes. It was also never stated when he had a spar with Zeno’s gramps. Which means that we don’t know if it was before Netero’s “metamorphosis” or before. There’s a possibility that it was before he achieved his 10,000 punches and would suggest that though it was a legendary encounter, they may not be as powerful as we know them when they had a fight.
I feel i could achieve more in life if Narrator kun could narrate my life 😂
i just realised that the fight starts at night and ends the next morning! but it takes from episode 111 to episode 136 ! for that whole night to end. hahaha crazy

I recommend watching it, once this arc is over, it gives a better and realistic understanding of the events and how fast things actually went.

The attack which netero used was an emitter attack, just like Gon’s paper attack. It was meant to send Pitou away, not kill her. It was a blast of aura and not a punch.
Why are you lying? Netero literally just hit Pitou full force with his bodhisattva and couldn't damage her cause she's simply too durable, if he could've killed her he obviously would've instead of risking to face Meruem and Pitou at the same time.

I still remember when Netero was playing with Gon and Killua on the airship after the first Hunter Exam phase and you guys were like "How strong can he really be?"... well well well...
Back then, he had said "If you can take the ball, i'll give you your hunter license right now" he was being 100% serious. And trust me, we are not done.
i don't think anybody in this series can take the ball from him, except for Meruem and perhaps Youpi, and Killua's godspeed......

One thing you got wrong is Netero punched Pitou just once. It just so fast that it have those visual effects, but that was not 10 000 punches.

Isaac Netero is anywhere between 110-120 Years old during Chimera Ant arc. He is the Ultimate Nen Enhancement User meaning he reached not just his potential but the possible limit of Nen itself. During his stay at the top of the mountain throwing 10000 punches a day for over 4 years that comes about around 15 Million punches total, and the whole time he kept us his REN for whole day must have used Zetsu while he slept and yes he didn't ate anything and never moved from the spot that was level of enhancement before his awakening.
Even during the current story arc. Netero is still one of if not the most impressive/powerful human nen user we've encountered. The man is literally built different
In the comic, beens (netero's manegment) says: "it had almost 20 years he is telling me he had 120 years" thats means this guy is around 140 - 150
Netero has not reached the limits of Nen. He's just reputed to be the strongest human at the moment; there have been stronger humans than him, there will be stronger humans than him, there may now be stronger humans than him and there are certainly stronger non-humans than him.

And he clearly stated that Ultimate tier is what's possible with Nen like Netero's Speed, Bisky's Body Transformation, Abengane's Nen Beast for taking away Nen curses, Zeno's range, Gon & Mereum godly amount of power and Nanika wish grants although infinite is bound by conditions.
The new chapters with the dark continent give much more Information to where netero presumed range of age could be. He's much older than 120 years old. I would assume he's around 200. I'm saying this because he double the age of zeno by the time of the current hxh that we see. Since zeno said he was already an old guy when he was born. And we can tell that zeno is most 70 or 80 years old. Also the black whale arc to the dark continent in the manga gives more information that the v5 was form over 100 years ago after the first DC voyage. We know that the three survivors of the first voyage to the DC was netero,linn, and zigg zoldych. Netero by that time was presumably around 46pushing 50 yrs old seeing that beyond netero mentioned how his dad,netero wasn't near his strength going into DC territory. Which I would assume was his reason to perfect his technique which is what we see In the chimera arc where he trains in the mountain. Which is him after the first voyage to the DC.

I am not too certain on this, but in the community many people claim this to be a mistranslation that was carried over from the manga into the anime and only corrected in the manga much later.
Apparently the praise wasn't that Netero fought Zenos granddad and survived, the praise was just that Netero is the only person as old as Zenos granddad to still be alive, because Zenos granddad is also still alive to this day. So the compliment was more about their incredible vitality and longevity, which I find to be much less epic 🙃

Survival simply means that he failed to kill him. This says nothing about their respective strengths. Then no, the vast majority of creatures on the Dark Continent are weaker than Zoldicks.
This is correct, the actual translation was that Netero had childish squabbles with Zeno's grandfather, not real fights.

Lastly, I didn't say those people are less impressive, I'm saying that the sentence "He's the only one who fought my grandpa and lived." is a lot more epic than "He's the only one who got as old as my grandpa without dying of old age." xD

Every time, I lose my breath by the anticipation and dread from this part in the arc.
I wonder, when did netero and zeno's grandfather fight? because if it was in his prime, then zeno's grandpa could be as strong as the king or even stronger. In my own understanding "surviving a battle" sounds like a one sided fight in favor of zeno's granpa.
The fact that he is alive too makes him a mystery for sure
Maybe they hired him to take Netero down, the fight led up to nothing, and they became friends, because the manga shows that they both went to the dark continent together once
But I feel the survive term is used to say that he fought Zeno grandpa and came out alive, if it was unscathed, that we don't know, but I would imagine yes, because Netero himself stated that at his prime he was the strongest nen user

You guys should watch weak hero class 1. It’s by far my favorite show. There are only 8 episodes so it won’t take long to get through. The story is amazing and the ending is so sad. It would mean everything to me if you watched it. I love your content so much.

And also it was purposefully said in an obscure way that this happened "OVER six decades ago". No precise time given.
I don't expect Netero to be much older than 110 either, I'm just saying the author left some room for debate on purpose, likely also so he can change his mind on Neteros exact age if it became necessary for what he wanted to convey I suppose. So since they said OVER six decades, 111 should be the youngest Netero can possibly be at this point.

Killua's great grandfather is one of the Hunter X Hunter mysteries I want to know.
Zeno's narration makes Maha Zoldyck seem stronger because Netero was praised only for being able to survive the fight, not because he was able to defeat Maha.

I love how they caught that pitou took no damage from that hit. Yes Netero was jusst trying to send her flying , but it was still one of his attacked and she took it easily. While Netero is faster and has a better ability I don't think she was lying when he said he was physically weaker than her at this point
