    Hi, thank you for the vid. I am in such ugly pain! I've been in pain for over a year. My doctor told me that knee replacement might be the next step because everything she's put me on has not work. Then, I saw your vid and I did not know they had knee on knee braces. My doctor gave me a regular brace which made me hurt more. I am gonna try the OA Pro brace. I hope it works. Please, everyone, wish me luck!

      How does NOT having surgery keep your knee from becoming more and more damaged? Not being critical, just want to understand........

      I know from experience with my back, braces, shots, therapy, losing weight only help so much. It doesn't cure the pain.
      I've had 1 knee replacement and have the other one scheduled. Nothing takes the place of repairing it and getting out of excruciating pain.

    Excellent video . I wish I was in your area. I’ll be searching out a good PT in my area , am losing a few extra lbs and am seeing a surgeon for the sole purpose of injections… but I know one day it’ll have to happen…so I want to know the dr well before that point…probably cortisone since insurance won’t pay for gel series injections. Both my knees are bone on bone mostly on the outside … I am 67 years old and I am petrified of just the idea of my leg being sawed and an artificial knee being put in . I know the recover is long and very difficult.. and to make matters worse I have OA in my ankles too…thank you again . Have a great week

    I'm 51 and I normally don't lay down to pain, so I kept going until I couldn't anymore. The initial injury was over 10 years ago. I had.an accident mountain biking and had my leg from my knee down folded outward about 22 degrees. I knew by the time I got home that it was more than a sprain. I worked in agony for a few days, and it took about a month before I could walk without a limp. I never saw a doctor.I had strong legs from cycling and over the next few months it actually got better. About a year later my knee became unsteady when walking and quickly escalated to the point that it would give out with no warning and I'd get a paid trip to the ground. At that point, I knew it was time to see a doctor who in turn recommended seeing a knee specialist. I did and that was when I discovered that my bike accident had torn my ACL & MCL and most of the menuscus that was supposed be cushioning my knee was now floating around loose inside my knee. The doctor told me he'd never seen that much arthritis in someone my age. I had surgery to remove the meniscus and was fitted for a brace to help stabilize my knee. I stopped wearing the brace within a year. I had pain during cold weather, but I could function to begin with. About a year and a half ago I began having pain in my hip of all places. Eventually it became my hip and knee. This past August my lower back joined in the fun. I didn't panic because I've also had back surgery twice. It hurts sometimes. It just goes with the territory. At first, I had a limp, but the pain was bearable. Then my hip started locking down. When it does the chances of getting out of the bed is out of the question for at least a couple of days. A month ago my knee started doing it. I saw a specialist yesterday and the news was not what I was expecting to hear the doctor say. I have very significant bone loss on upper and lower leg bones . I have a bone spur about the diameter of a soft drink can. The added pressure on my knee because of the way I walk now has not only destroyed my knee, my hip joint has basically been destroyed. When I recover from knee replacement, hip reconstruction and replacement is next. If I'd had the knee replacement just two years ago my hip would probably have been ok for at least a little while because the knee will have more stability Is it the end of the world? Absolutely not, but I've caused at least 50% of the problem being a "tough guy."
    I'm a few months out from being 52, so I still heal pretty quickly, but not as quick as I used to. Within the next two and a half years, I will have to basically learn to walk again twice. Its not cancer and there are people in North Carolina and California right now that would give anything to have my problems. I'm just attempting to convey to someone who may read this to not screw around. It's not going to heal on it's own, and you don't want to end up in the shape I'm in. If you're quality of life hasn't been affected it will be. Why allow it to happen if you can avoid it? Ive had my share of surgery and all of them sucked, but even my back surgery was nothing compared to the pain I'm in now. Please don't wait if you don't have to. I swear to you it's not worth it.

    Another one is dangling your legs off a high table and just paddle your feet, better still apply ankle weights and a heat pack on the knee. The weights stretch the fibia and tibia causing a vacuum in the joint which draws in more blood into the synovial fluid. Heat pack attracts more blood thinking like a hot shower. The objective is to reverse arthritis. I learnt this off another video followed it for 3 to 4 months and totally ended my pain. At 60, can still run for half an hour, walk for 2 hours, with no pain.

    Disagree with your study saying PRP was not superior to cortisone or gel. A recent meta analysis showed that those studies showing no effect had too low a dose of platelets. Effective treatment required 8-9-10 million platelets. Which reveals a problem. Since this is your own blood you may not have a high concentration of platelets and there is likely no way for the practitioner to determine the platelet count.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for sharing the updated study results. Do you have a link to the article?
      Platelet count is a normal part of a Complete Blood Count (CBC) panel though with norms of 150,000 to 450,000 / microliter. If say 9 million were needed at ~300,000 per microliter, that would be about 30 microliters, or 0.03 milliliters of UNCONCENTRATE blood, which is not a lot. Even on the low end, 0.06 mL is still not much. It seems like one would have to be severely deficient in order to not be able to get that many platelets.
      P.S. I'm not arguing with you... I just find it interesting. Please do share the article link if you have it.

      Repeated cortisone injections (or any corticosteroid) can weaken bones and collagen (cartilage). One every now and then most likely won't, but if you're needing them every 3 months or so, the risk goes up.

    How can you compare arthretic knees with heart disease or say you can live without surgery when some cannot walk or sleep because of their knees. You make it sound almost like the pain is their imagination.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No pain is imaginary. All pain is real. What I meant is that you CAN live in pain, although it lowers quality of life. If you're having a heart attack, without a surgery, you probably won't survive. There was no intent to trivialize anyone's pain or suffering.
