Thank you! Can't wait to start these exercises in the morning. I've been struggling and babying my knees at the gym. It's been a struggle with not having a clue as to the best glutes and hamstring exercises to strengthen my legs without putting me out of commission with knee pain. I struggle with the floor exercises with getting up and down (bc of knees), which is another reason I need these specific exercises. I'm-70 pounds down and 8 weeks at the gym, my knees were the only thing holding back. Thank you again. Hopefully will have good updates withing a month or so.
This is absolutely amazing, especially because you’re not just showing how to do it. You are talking through it so for people with visual impairments thank you.
Thank u so much for the inform about exercise to strenghten the glut mucles hamstring l Would rsther do those excerice then having a TKR No Way lm not gonna do it lm so afraid
Dr Karl B : I have arthritis & Baker cyst on my LEFT knee, When I go to the gym, I ride the stationary bikes & I peddle backwards. Does that help my knees, like walking backwards? Also, if I use the stair master, will that help my knees too?
@@dollykakkar2044 Here’s a 20 minute workout to help avoid knee replacement. Weight loss starts with your diet which isn’t my expertise but I’m sure there’s plenty of channels out there who can help. th-cam.com/video/atARllSAnF4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6q53ZUMk_ds4cUou
I am 24M and just got told I have mod-advanced in my knee. Don’t have any real pain tho, just stiff. Trying to protect my knees as much as possible now. Any recommendations for weights? I walk backwards, but should I do some weight exercises to build more muscle and strength?
I also have a spinal cord injury and need to hold on to things when I get up, any suggestions on how to modify the dot to stand exercise without me losing the benefit of the exercise.
Yep, would be good to invest in a suspension trainer and you can perform most exercises while holding onto something. Check out my video for the assisted sit to stand to see how to perform.
I think these are good but am I damaging my knee as when I do (e.g.) the step up or any where I put the weight on the arthritic knee it grinds and makes noises.
I’m not elderly but I’m 45, 100 lbs overweight, and have had bad knees since I was in 1st grade. I need both replaced, I’ve had 4 scopes and 2 meniscus repairs. I’ll try some of these but I’m gonna say most are impossible for advanced bone on bone caused by juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
Years ago my husband and I bought a extra wide massage table that's like a physical therapy table that we lie on to do exercises instead of getting down to the floor. You may be able to do them on your bed as well. We bought on Amazon and Sierra was the brand I think.
This is unrealistic for someone who is elderly and got bone on bone arthritis ….unable to get on the floor least of all back up and then the pain is unbearable and I would like to see someone with true bone on bone arthritis show these because it’s just not possible.
@@davinatest8467 you’re correct not everyone will be able to do these. Based on the likes and comments I would say that many are able to do it and it’s helping them.
I’m sorry but your ignorance is showing. I’ve lifted for years and also have arthritis. I was diagnosed at the age of 26 and I’m currently 44. The pain was somehow manageable up until recently when my left knee finally wanted to give out and the pain was excruciating , impossible to bend it without being in pain . A recent MRI showed the deterioration of the cartilage behind my knee cap to where the patella is rubbing against the bone . It’s painful and debilitating and it’s a disease that unfortunately runs in my family . I’ve never ever been sedentary and my diet is excellent . Please educate yourself so you can show empathy to people suffering a disease so debilitating as it is arthritis
Man let me tell being doing this for the past week and big difference, i do have partial knee osteoarthritis...

Yes, building glute, hamstring, and core strength would be a great place to start.
What is the best knee support for bone to bone knee pain
Thanks!!! Great video😊

This is solid.

I couldn’t say without doing an exam. If you’re worried I would recommend speaking to a professional in person before beginning a program.
Is there something I can do to make sure my knees don't lock when I stand up with the dumbbell?
I’m like 100 lbs over weight & can not get up & down in low position off the floor so not sure how someone elderly do these exercises

You could try to use a firm bed or couch to start with until you are strong enough to get on and off the floor. Good luck!
I am sure you could do them on your bed
You can do the lying down ones in your bed and work your way up. Just do what you can do something is better than nothing Best wishes
I wish I did avoid knee replacement. I’m in worship now.
Sorry what do u mean in worship?
@@sharcipriano2423I think she meant ‘worse shape’. Unfortunately I see many people in worse shape after their surgery 😢
Sorry to hear that Brenda. Keep Working on improving movement and strength if you can.
Anyone else notice the light anomaly when he’s talking about the clamshell?
Is there an alternative exercise for the glute bridge ?
Any glute max exercise you can do. I have a video of good glute exercises for those with bad knees you can find. Good luck!
What if you knee gives out when you’re walking or even standing?
I would stand close to a wall or hold onto something for assistance until you build enough strength in your knee to support you.
Can these exercises be done on a bed?
Unless I missed it,but I didn’t hear how many rep for these exercises. Please?
It depends on how you're incoporating them into a routine. I would start performing for 1 minute straight rather than counting reps.
Just want to know how many reps should you do with each of the 6 exercises?
I just set a timer for 1 minute each exercise. Allows you to focus on form.
I can't lay on lay side also have back pain😢😢😢😢
I do not have that range of motion😢
What if you can't get on the floor to do these exercises? I can't lay on the floor, I won't be able to get up.

I got bone on bone but don't won't have surgery on my knees I been doing rehab my doc won't me to Iam over weight
My sister had bone on bone she had trouble after she had her done won't her
I’m in a severe pain and find it hard to stand
I’m on crutches now
For acute pain I would recommend speaking to your doctor
Now many reps per exercise
I can’t lay down.. I won’t be able to get up on my own . So not be able to do that first exercise
Me too
Can I do this on a bed! LOL! But for real! I have been bone on bone for 15 yrs...I can't get up if on the floor!????!
Sorry to hear that! Try this trick to make getting up off the floor easier: th-cam.com/video/ymDEvarw1Dc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UjkQPFJ_FKybHCgk
