After seeing a few videos about tag and never doing a submission with any company. Its safe to say this video sold me, TAG is a cleaner look and a better product than what PSA pushes out. Great vid!
Yes totally! I don’t agree with the multiple resubmits to try and get the grade you want. The card should get the grade it earned and that is it! With TAG and the machine grading that’s what we are getting!

I was to! Then I never saw it happen so I decided to burn the $40 to see if what they (TAG) said was true about their “fingerprints” technology. These resubmitted were not cards that I submitted in the first place. They were from someone in California that sent them to me for the test.
Nicely done. Yes, TAG is the future and i'm impressed it detected the same card on resubmit. TAG adding new TAG X service, I'm still concerns they are opening up more pop that will overshadow what a good thing is with TAG S.
Honestly, I was bummed when I found out what TAG_X was. I like the 3 point score. I have the approach that not all 10s are the same. If I have the highest scored card that would be awesome. TAG_S is what I prefer

It’s a really bummer the submission kits used to be free! You don’t need to purchase a sub kit though, you can pack and send them in yourself to save some money.
Those 2 resubmits I did were from another collector (somewhere in California) and not me. I’m in Georgia and had them shipped to me, and I cracked and resubmitted. Really glad you enjoyed the test/video results
It also keeps the population report from inflation artificially. Most people crack the cards and just send the card out and not the serial number. So now you'll have a 9 and 10 of the same card. Artificially racing the population report on the 9.
This is a perfect argument that while TAG might be seen and mathematically more accurate but FLIPPERS really don't want accuracy they want 10's regardless of accuracy.
I love the way the Slabs come in Packs! I noticed they seemed tight when I watched previous videos but when I got my TAG Order back in August they weren't that bad to open. I have to admit that I think TAG & AI in general are the future of grading. I still like both of the LeBron James Cards and I think the Slabs are really sweet. The Ohtani is a really nice Card and I love the bump up! How do you feel about the 1000 Point grading system TAG uses? I really enjoyed watching your video, it was really interesting. I also like the transparency of TAG, some of my friends think it is "overkill" with all the reports but I like it. Keep the TAG videos coming, please! Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the kind words! I absolutely love the 1000 points scale, it speaks truth to “not all 10s are created equal”. For example a heavily graded card (89 upper deck, Griffey jr.) if I had the highest graded 10, I think it would be worth more than a 10 that got a lower score but is still considered a 10. I plan on making more TAG videos. One will be reviewing the new TAG_X grading tier…. Which I’m not a fan of, but it might grow on me.
That is a good idea actually, but the cost to send a card in now for TAG_S is 25-30 dollars just for one! When I did this test, it was 14 dollars for one card. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
Do you think TAG will ever grade raw vintage cards? I don't really want to submit or buy cards anymore from PSA or even SGC. But it's great that they were able to detect item(s) that were previously sent in for grading to a different company. I don't agree with resubmitting cards and cracking out of slabs to get better grades. PSA seems to be really bad at being able to realize it was previously a SGC or BGS graded card.
I don’t think TAG will grade vintage, and here is why: they are big on AI grading and a machine doing most if the work. It’s easy to make counterfeit vintage cards and it takes a real specialist to determine if a card is legit or not, I don’t think they want to rely on a machine to determine if it is a fake card. They would run the risk of grading a fake card… that would kill a little company
Scary thought. Maybe put a micro water mark on the cards when you use TAG so they can identify them, The fingerprint identifier i dont see how that would work because most people wipe and use gloves when grading, here are no finger prints...that would not be good
TAG identities very microscopic errors in the card (that don’t affect the grade) and they use though as “fingerprints” to identify a card that has been submitted in the past. No actual fingerprints are used to ID a card.
To be honest, if I was a company like tag, I would look for resubmission from the same person. I think for a truly objective result, someone else should submit one of your cards to them because their system could easily flag that you have submitted that particular card before!
Yea man they are pretty on par with matching “industry standards”. They are definitely not one of the pop grader companies that over grade everything. They had price changes 2 times in past 3 months. They are trying to find a sustainable footing though. If you are looking to flip cards fast, probably not TAG…. Hold cards for awhile then sell, maybe TAG…. Slabs PC Cards, TAG is probably the way to go.

I wonder what the resale of tag slabs are, can’t imagine it’s as high as psa. Not a psa fanboy at all, I’m a money fanboy lol, definitely would not be cracking and resubmitting psa 10’s for tags. Jmo though. Nice video.
I hear ya! I collect cards but I like to collect Benjamins 💵 more! Certain TAG cards are somewhat comparable in price to PSA, but most are not. I think in a couple years TAG will break into the top 3 graders.
Only watched a few tag opening videos. Some slabs are in a clear sleeve after opening from the original package and some are not. One video was from a year ago and all were double bagged and these were not. Did they stop doing that.
They did stop doing it unfortunately. Now they offer a $1 “up charge” Card Care option per card. if you opt in for Card Care, TAG will wipe off the card of smudges, fingerprints, debris and supply you with a slab bag. The slabs are not placed in the bag though… they just come in box and the customer has to put the slabbed card in the bag. If you decline Card Care then you get no slab bag, and when open the card from the TAG wrapper, it will look like what you see in this video.
Interesting company, I like their slabs a lot. I am still lost on how the "fingerprint" works and is used to catch a resub? Especially if a raw card was sent from 2 separate accounts? Or what if I had 2 of the same card and sent the other one in? Thanks
From what I can read from their website, their AI scanner identifies Non-human observerable defects (NHODs). It maps out the NHODs and saves them is a repository in their system. If the same card comes back and it matches to the stored NHODs of that particular card, the system flags it as a resubmission. With the cards that were flagged in this video, they weren’t mine to begin with, they were donated for this experiment. I didn’t do anything to “touch up” the resubmitted cards… who knows what happens if you try to clean up a cracked TAG slab card and resubmit it….
Just saw this video… looks interesting. Can you crack one out and have a buddy resubmit it. I wonder if TAG’s technology can only catch your own resubs or if it can catch a card resubbed by another person.

To be honest I’m not liking it. I do a have sub of 6 cards I’m sending in. I’m going to do a review when I get them back. I’m very interested in the new “DINGS” report that they say will simplify the “why” you card graded the way it did.
So… comps are sort of all over the place depending the card. PSA is on top with ultra modern and probably TCG. Where SGC dominates is the vintage market. CGC is the place to go for TCG, but if you have a PSA 10 1st edition charazard vs a CGC of the same… PSA will be worth more. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It was to see if TAG would grade it its same as the industry standard PSA. It was an experiment. Also, that PSA 10 barely worth the plastic it holdered in.
If you watch some of my other videos… I have sworn off TAG. I have cracked a lot of cards out of the TAG slab to resubmit to PSA or sell RAW. TAG does have the best slabs though!

Totally man! That’s what attracted me to them in beginning. The card gets the grade and that is that…. No resubmitting to get a higher grade!

Little late, but curious why did Tag say that Lebron should be a 7? Does look a little OC, and BGS gave that a 8.5. The rest seemed fine.
So… they said it was the corners… I don’t agree with them on that. The machine said they were bad though and that’s that I guess!

Ive actually cracked 100% of my PSA 7 and 8 and resubmitted them to TAG
