Thanks, Geoff! One thing I can say from reading the comment section is our hobby has some major black eyes in it. Some people are so nasty in this hobby. We all have our opinions but I find it funny how outrageous some of these people are online, yet if they went to SGC they would probably be in awe of the business they’ve built over the years. We need kids in this hobby so it will last for generations to come, not adults acting like kids.
Do you have any help on prepping or getting cards ready to submit cards as well ?
How long dose the grading process take
I BET if SGC offered $20 a card graded, add $5 bucks for sub grades if you want, and fixed their label so it was more aesthetically pleasing they would go from every card being 30% to 35% percent less than PSA to about 15 percent overnight. They are well known in the industry and have been around for over 20 years. Why they continue to sip coffee and think of strategies to improve when it is so obvious is baffling to me.
@@SMOU1 You are on to something. Just making labels color match the main color in a card would fix a ton. Times change and card grading companies are living in the stone ages.

Transparency is the biggest win here for me. More companies need to do this.

Great content. It would have been nice to see a card actually get graded. Like go through the process so we can see how it is done step by step.i guess they might not want to give away any secrets?
This is some of the best sports card content I've seen in a while & this kind of visibility into the grading process is definitely appreciated & will go a long way for SGC.
Not gonna lie, I was thoroughly impressed by this behind the scenes of SGC! I honestly think their slabs are the best looking right now in professional card grading.

I feel like SGC's graded cards would skyrocket in the future if ever the hobby of collecting rises constantly in the few years. Also, digging the tuxedo black backdrop from the card, cards really pop out. I will try to get SGC-graded cards in the market, get them for less, hold, and once collectors see the value in SGC that's when you part ways with it happily. Let's go SGC!

WOW! I love the transparency! And transparency builds trust! With grading companies, if we can't trust them then their grades and services mean nothing. But this is ground breaking! I feel like I can really trust SGC more now.

SGC is the 1st company i thought about getting my cards graded by after PSA lost their minds
I went with them and I couldn’t be more happy. Really rigorous, but deserving grades. Quality now meeting quantity.

They didn’t lose their minds, they are back logged. Regardless a psa 10 will always have a higher resale value than sgc 10. Best choice for potentially high value card

i love using SGC for my Pokemon cards. I think the black slabs look really nice. and the 30$ per card for an almost 2week turnaround is worth it , and the high resolution images they provide is also a plus. Thank you for the video, This was very well made and some of the best grading content ive seen so far.

Imma start grading at SGC honestly, for a “small” or an underdog grading company it’s obvious that they work really hard, great team, with a CEO who really cares about the sports cards industry, very nice.
Hopefully they show it in the Grade Reveal, but I was hoping for an actual Walkthrough, ie., the journey of a card from inception, all the way through the grading process, to the shipping out of that card. I think the Grading company that shows this will be the real winner here!

Cool to get a quick tour of the facilities and the SGC culture. Would be awesome to actually see a card go through the process step by step but I also understand there are probably some aspects of the process that are proprietary.

I will say they look/feel better in-hand. A font change alone would make a big difference though.
Big fan of the TUX slabs I have MANY! Im hoping the world catches up to the pricing and the grades they give. They truly earn each one of them.

@@drewpro81 They get a nice 70% ish cut of a PSA if it is an older card. Newer stuff not a chance you're lucky to get 60%
Great video. I really like to see transparency in companies. I need that machine at the end of the video. That would make my pre grading eliminations very easy.
First ever card submission I did was SGC back in March. Really fast service and fair grading I thought. I would recommend them.

@@chocolateking1143 I agree for flipping. Although it’s not sgc’s fault it’s the hobby currently. That could change though as does most things in this market. Sgc is great for your pc if you actually love to collect cards also

SGC is about to catch much deserved 🔥. Best grading imho.

wow this is cool. never had cards graded by them but I'm going to be sending some to them now!! I really like the slabs they produce with the black background that keeps the card from moving around. PSA cards move around in there slabs!

@@rj-vj8gr that's way to high priced for sgc just a caution. At there current resale prices that is highway robbery still unless you get all 9.5 and 10s it isn't worth it which sucks because I like sgc but not a viable option currently
@@PIP-zf9yb Unfortunately, until the hobby wises up and starts paying more for SGC’s product, I agree. $30 isn’t highway robbery. Blame the hobby, not SGC. That’s a good deal, all things considered. But I run a business and understand overhead etc. But your point is still very valid.

The transparency, the friendly company atmosphere and the careful way they grade cards has made me feel much more confident with sending my cards to them for grading. This is such a great video and much needed for the hobby.
what would be cool to see would be to run the same card by all the graders in that room and then see the differences of opinion. and another thing that would be helpful would be some brief narrative coming back with the cards. after all we couldnt see the crease or wrinkle the machine saw and we just have to be dismayed with some of the grades witihout knowing why.

Sent some cards in a few weeks ago to SGC and had them back in my hands a week later! First time using any grading service and it was great. Cards look awesome in their "tuxedos". Highly recommend them.

Geoff, you dont even believe in SGC tho.....LOL. Naw, but for real tho, nice and informative video. I like SGC, but I am gonna be honest, with all the price increases, I just dont think SGC will prevail once PSA opens back up. Especially when SGC is charging the same price(if not, higher)then what PSA is charging per card. Also, since the price increases, its not like we can send in cheap cards anymore. We can only send in cards that actually make sense and can be profitable, and we all know which grading company gets the most return for your investments as of right now. I think PSA is charging $25.00 per card once they open back up, and if SGC wants to compete with them, I m thinking $20-22 per card should be a very competitive rate(plus SGC service is alot quicker).
Once PSA is all caught up, I think all the grading companies(especially now with HGA and CSG in play)will be much much slower just because they will probably not see cards valued less then $20.00 since the price of grading is $25.00 and up.
Hope things work out for you guys, good to see more competition mounting against PSA. Forces them to actually compete in the space.

I like the SGC and their quality but why should I invest in grading my cards with them when I get half of what I would get with a PSA with same grade. Not sure how that can be fixed but their needs to be some mutual respect for the major card grading companies in regards to grade acknowledgement and price. I understand some collectors will prefer 1 grade company over the others but their can't be this much of a price difference. In doing so says that one grading company's grade is illegitimate.
These folks WORK! Well done SCI and SGC on the video and giving all of us a peak at the process and effort that goes into this.
Hopefully this pumps the market on SGC slabs. PSA has gotten away with so much BS.

Honestly it kind of sucks that the Mantle card would be graded lower for something not visible to the naked eye. That’s a problem with getting cards graded. You get dinged for things no one can even see?
