The thing that still haunts me to this day is that the king shakalaka has a move in which he jumps while using his sword multiple times in the air. You can be hit *MULTIPLE TIMES* by that as it has nearly *0 KNOCKBACK EFFECT BUT IT STILL STUNS YOU BRIEFLY* I know that guy had the strength of a thousand men if he was able to knock you out 10 metres despite being a midget. But seriosly, the terror of that attack hitting you twice... I can still feel my megapotions shivering on my pocket. Hammer user btw

btw if you kill enough shakas the rock will dissapear on its own and they will spawn in the entrance of their den instead of velociprey. also they hit hard but the ammount of damage you showed yourself taking is mostly a show that you need to upgrade bad.
I remember playing MHTri after MHFU and getting a damn shakalaka as a partner instead of a felyne comrade had me somewhere between excited to see how powerful he was and afraid of when the little bastard was going to betray me… He grew on me though but there was always a lingering dread of encountering king Shaka and his boys again. But I do miss the old felyne comrades and the glitch that lets them break their limits and get like 1000+ attack power, enough to one-shot a Low Rank Tigrex. You really could main Palico in that game lol
@@jam-ui1zc to me, Khezu was bad due to terrible mobility MHFU had. You could pretty much i-frame everything, my preferred style of gameplay (I love me self Evade+2), except his lightning cloth. That thing last for eternity! So you're forced to take it slow and pace yourself, in already slow as hell monster to fight with. Evade distance are god send against him, but really a Lance or SnS are what you need for him and HBG with shield attachment *WRECK* him. Considering he didn't catches you doing something when he scream like a "B", if he did, sayonara. And no "eye" status quite a bummer too. Sometimes you need those Superman Jump, especially when you're cornered.
Khezu legit made me drop the game. I finished him on low hp, no more potions, broken weapon with no more sharpening tools. He was on the ground, and I was hitting desperately for my life. As he started to get up, he died. Put the console down, my hands were shaking. Now. I was a child with not enough understanding of the mechanics of the game to come appropriately prepared. But still. This is a memory that haunts me to this day, everytime I face a Khezu again

freedom unite was my first MH. I've plyed it with my friends for years, and have about 2000+ hours in it. best time of my life. Way harder than the modern games as well, but in an inconvienient way. No eating on site, paintballs, limited inventory, etc. what a blast!
During one of my first chameleos hunts, I accidentally roused the anger of the king shakalaka... I have no shame in admitting that I carted out of that quest.
One of the best changes in Rise? The return of the iconic BBQ Spit song. Saddly I never hear it cause I just have the cats in town cook everything for me, BUT AT LEAST IT'S THERE!

The smallest yet terrifying boss. I rather be trapped in the arena with Rajang than fight king shakalaka. King Shakalaka's hit box is small and he fights too quick that it scares me to even approach it while its wildy attacking

The thing that makes the king hard is his chip damage does like 10% damage without a knock down or flinch so you don’t know he even hit you most of the time.
This can be a shame for me, but that monster was one of the monsters that where close to killed me for the first time during monster hunter freedom unite I cleared MHFU without dying and only Ukanlos, White Monoblos, Crinsom Fatalis and King Shakalaka where close to killed me
Yeah, me too as I started with 3 Ultimate. I was surprised when I saw the Shakalakas were antagonists when I started Freedom Unite. And I was even more surprised when I saw how difficult a fight against a King Shakalaka was.
I first encountered this fcker in an Arena quest and I have no idea that this guy is soo OP!! This guy teached me a lesson in the hardest way which I still use in my hunting career now: Don't underestimate a monster, no matter what it looks like.

doing the g rank azure rathalos quest for the rath soul armor was a pain in the ass. once he fley away to sleep he was guarded by this little asshole in area 6, 2 hitting you with every attack once he entered rage mode

I thought I would always hate the shakalaka and then MH3Tri came out and then MH3U, and Cha-Cha is the man. I mean Kyumba is good too but cha-cha looks better in the myxlyn mask.

As everyone, the first time i fought it, the King Shakalaka totally beaten me. I came back stronger, wearing powerful armor and weapons. They beaten me again. Then i came back even stronger and beaten it with full Diablos Z armor and Ukanlos Trampler! It was hell of a fight.
I whooped him the first time around. But saying that it was easy would be a lie. The bastard nearly Tore me a new one. My only saving grace was that i heavily leaned into the longsword and just keep him at blades length...

Actually, forgot to mention this. you're more likely to encounter the small Shakalaka's than the King. Since the small ones hide on fake mushrooms.
Also, there's a specific quest where you're in a small arena with the King and the small ones.
They also hide in crystals on the snowy mountains
