Honestly, it might be the name of your channel. I know when I first saw the name, I thought it was about how you live with some medical issue that has the initials LK. I have seen channels that are like that. But that was just my first impression. Yes, I know the title should have been a give away but I wasn’t sure. Luckily, I decided to click on your video this time. I am now a subscriber and look forward to looking at your previous and future videos. I really like how you present yourself and your content. I wish you great success in this endeavor!
She’s still growing ! It takes time to get established on TH-cam. It’s only been a year and some of her videos have well over 100k views. The channel is doing just fine 😊
SO many people are struggling financially right now, but would love to be able change/freshen up their space. This was such amazing advice, I hope that it ends up on a lot of people's YT recommended lists! This was full of so many great ideas!
I think a swap party with your friends is a great idea. SWAP home goods with your friends over a pot luck meal and a GOOD YOU TUBE video from Living with LK.
One time I took a picture of someone that was visiting and later I looked at the wall and space behind the picture and realized how cluttered the room was. So I've learned to take a picture to see the room from a different perspective.. It helps me see what's not working for me. Also I'll go to the front door and pretend to come in and then see the room from a strangers point of view. I liked your tips and ideas. I've always loved rearranging my furniture, makes the area feel new..💛💜💙
LOL! I did the same thing in college. I had developed the pictures during spring break and realized how dumpy our apartment looked including the roommate’s “Hang in there” cat poster tacked up on the living room wall. When I got home, I ended up buying a framed poster to put on the wall (I think it was of a Monet painting) and moved some pieces of furniture around. I decided that we should have a nicer communal living room! Wish I knew then what I know now…
Omg, I love Rajiv! His “slow living” is really refreshing. He’s always learning and becoming “expert” at things like painting, making pottery, playing the harp. All around, he’s an inspiration.
I stumbled upon this channel a few days ago. And since then I think I've watched like... 10 of your videos. I LOVE them. I've been watching some other interior design videos and I was getting sick of hearing the same stuff over and over. It wasn't feeling educational; it felt judgemental. The vibes are IMMACULATE here. 😍
LK, your ideas were really great in this video. Due to health issues, after re-modeling, I got caught in a time warp...paperwork, everywhere, then piles... This week I shall sort the paperwork and move what is to be saved to basement files (empty & waiting). Then, begin sorting stuff, one room at a time...save, donate, toss. I suspect donating will give me more than I am imagining. If I can bag it, I can bring it do a donation center one bag at a time. I can slim down possessions, since I am getting older, and need a lot less, rather than more. I had a showhouse...my gems will re-appear; they are under the piles. Your video gave me more inspiration than I have had in a long time. My jewels are underneath, waiting to go back on the walls, and coming out on display. I am physically stronger, now, so I can tackle the job, again. There is hope at the end of my tunnel. Your "fresh eyes approach" grabbed me, today...just re-arranging things I already have, sounded so doable. My task is huge, but I can succeed, little by little. New fabrics, newly upholstered pieces, new possessions, just waiting to go back in place, after waiting under covers, for what seems like an eternity, to reappear. I can do this. Yes, I can. Thank you for your clever inspirations...
Terrific video LK. My winter project is to paint my doors and baseboards throughout my 1963 apartment. I don't like painting at all but I know the impact will be huge. Thanks for all your suggestions. Jan
When I was growing up, my best friend’s mom would change things out (she had shelves of accessories in the basement and moved things to different rooms) every 3-4 months. It kept their home looking fresh and interesting. You really do stop seeing things when they are in the same spot all the time.
Taking out everything is truthfully the greatest. I recently had to do that for painting. A lot of work but had to do it anyway, but the result was revolutionary for me. Decided on a whole different direction for my front room, a 7 window upper porch with little wall space and my adjoining living room. Came out so much more cohesive because I started from zero. 😊
I can't tell you the last time I subscribed to a channel. Until today. Your advice is so simple but effective and as a very recent post grad, funds are superrrrrr tight. Thank you LK!
Moving things around, doing new colour combinations with things you already have, and rearranging collections always make my space feel fresh and interesting. Great video.
I have lived in my house since 1978. I saved my favorite stuff from my Grand mothers and parents. I shop in my attic frequently...... I spend 0 on redecorating. My kids shop in my attic too!
Love, love your channel. I feel you provide practical, easy to implement ideas for making our home beautiful and a delightful expression of ourselves. Keep inspiring us to be fabulous.❤
I just happened to stumble upon your channel and was very impressed. Your discussion about down to earth decorating was impressive. I totally understand what you were saying and will be trying the ideas very soon.
Thank you for your wonderful videos! They are so inspiring! I love your genuine desire to help people succeed in their spaces. I'm learning so much from you. 😊 I am so glad I found your channel! ❤Marietta Anderson
I think of a museum when displaying my collections; having too many to display at once, so, like a museum, I will rotate collections every few months or w/ the season. 😉
I love love your videos! Makes such a change from all these fancy expensive homes that not many people have. It’s amazing what you can do when you don’t have a budget. I have painted all ugly furniture, framed old magazine cuttings and postcards, stuck wooden skewers onto a lampshade, drawn my own pictures, swapped objects….
I'm so glad I came across your channel! It is so much better than the average diy videos. I especially like all of the inspo ideas you put up while you are explaining your idea because it helps show what you mean to non-decorator types like me. It must take quite a bit of time to edit it in and find the photos, so thank you!!
I’m moving to a downstairs apartment and am going to start completely over. It has different flooring I really don’t like so rugs are the solution there. I’m really excited. I’m 67 and life has given me several heart breaking blows so I need mending. A restart. A freshening up. Looking forward to it next month. Thanks for this video and all the others. We have different styles but you help in every area no matter what style. I’m hooked!💕
New subscriber here. Found you in my feed a few days ago. Love your channel! I've always been afraid to put decor on my walls, not wanting to leave holes, but watching your videos has given me the courage to start something I have always wanted to do. I must be a visual person too because I'm loving the feeling I get seeing "favorite things" all around me. Plus as I'm decorating I am no longer judging myself by "what will others think." If I like it, that's good enough. It's my home!
Just found this site. I have listened to a few of your videos, and watched them all the way through. You have given me a lot of ideas. I will continue watching.
Q & A's - I like them - when all the questions are gathered ahead of time, organized by category, then can be answered. I'm not a fan of live ones; I don't enjoy watching someone scroll and search for questions.
What a cool idea to yank things while on a timer! I used to change my home all around on a kind of regular basis. It was a little about finding better organization but also to feel like I had a brand new space. I could transform a room in a matter of hours while dusting every room I explored. And most of the place would get a good cleaning just because I was in that zone. It made me feel so good and I'd appreciate the treasures I've gathered during life 100x more. Seeing this tells me it's been quite a while since I've done this. This weekend!! :D
Great ideas! I’ve done the remove everything from your space and then “shop” your ideas and decorate. It helps with decluttering a room and giving you a better idea of what you can use in a d room.
I wanted to change up my space, but I didn't want to buy any new "stuff". I remembered that I had a stash of colorful bags and mini backpacks that I'd picked up while traveling. I grabbed some command hooks from a drawer and hung the bags on the wall. I don't know if it quite works, but I like it for now.
the idea with putting some of your stuff (or toys for kids or animals) away and out of sight for a while to then later circle back to it for a renewed sense of discovery and novelty is awesome! i will definitely try to do that intentionally from now on and not just by accident when i stumble upon things i had to put in my cellar room somewhere 😂
Great ideas! I do the remove and relayer. I never considered a decor pile for inspiration, but I will now. Live sounds great! Enjoy your channel so much.
Hello LK, I'm new here and I would like to thank you for such good ideas and suggestions. Your approach to rearranging your room/home is very cool! I will definitely come back for more inspiration :)
I appreciate your emphasis on beautiful design that’s purposeful. So may TH-cam designers make recommendations that look nice, but don’t make sense to how you live, ie. Covering book bindings. Thanks for showing us how to make “form follows function” wonderful!
Great tipps! Some years ago I changed the arrangement of my furniture when I needed a change. It always felt new afterwards and gave me such a good feeling. Nowadays I've got more heavy things and it is not so easy swapping them around. But your tipps about changing the small stuff might do as well. Thank you! I have a multipurpose room that I could use advice for, so I'm interested in your offer.
halfway through your video I stopped it.I moved all the furniture and decor around in the living room...sulfur was facing the fireplace which we really don't use in the summer LOL...also at 72 my husband and I are trying to get the spark back so this way we can both sit on the sofa together and watch TV....thank you so very much
These were such great tips! LOVED the "shop your home for 3 minutes" idea. And the reminder that I can just switch out the art in my frames. Really loving your videos❤
I love your ideas.. I live in a small home and my organisation skills are lacking, so I’m going to try your tip on taking things out and bringing back what I like. How do I send a picture of my room to you?
Try a vanity tray to corral your beauty/jewelry stuff. Sometimes you can find them out antiquing, but it's easier to find a picture frame (metallic finishes are best imo), and put a mirror in place of the glass (plastic mirrors are cheap, and easy to cut to size). It makes it easier to get the size of tray you want, as it's not really a common item out shopping.
Aloha ka kou, LK! Good evening! You have my vote for doing a Q&A! I so need to re-think configuration of furniture/artwork/etc in my 2-story townhouse! Side note: thanks for discussing the putting away of things to re-visit at a future time! I so needed to hear that! 😊
Rajiv is so purposeful! He makes everyday a joy. Your tips are so helpful! Money is tight right now and I’ve been craving something different for our home. It feels within reach now. 🙂 I would love to do a submission or see others submissions to gain ideas. Q&As sound great. I wouldn’t even know what to ask but I would love to listen.
Hello! I just found your channel (why, I do not know because I watch this type of content all the time) & I’ve been binging! Love the ideas you have & your sensible approach to everything! I refer people to channels all the time & I’ll definitely be putting the word out for yours ❤
I like the idea of a live chat on a Sunday morning and would definitely tune in!👍🏼 Here's a design dilemma: How would you decorate a space for a renter who can't hang anything on the walls? (no nails, tape, tacks, and no Command Strips either)😞
@@livingwithlk Living room mostly, then bedroom. Kitchen is small with little wall space. It would mostly be to showcase my goodies and preferably in a way so I can swap out the decor items for an occasional refresh since I bore easily in looking at the same stuff all the time. 😂
@@julianne089 Thank you for the idea! I have several framed art pieces arranged similarly in my bedroom, but long for the look of a normal gallery wall in my living room and dining area. I have a couple of curio display elements that house a mix of some of my favorite things, but without a gallery wall, my place feels oddly undone.🤷🏽♀️
@@AlmondJoie I mean the best option I can provide someone who can't hang anything on the walls or doesn't want to do that, is to use standing storage. There are many types of bookshelves, racks, cabinets, credenza's etc you can use to showcase decor. But tall bookshelves of any shape or kind are the only real way to get height so you can keep the eye moving around the room while showcasing different types of decor. You can see in my living room makeover that I displayed my things on, and hung or stood up art inside my two bookcases, a side table, a stool, a coffee table, and a telephone bench. Hope this helps!
For me, swapping things around isn't even about them looking better in the new arrangement, but just about being different. I get so bored easily. I also have a lot of different throws and bedding i swap around which is fun.
Super smart. I move things around my house and change it up. Perfect way to refresh. My walls and curtains are purposefully neutral so I can I incorporate colors other places. Hope ur subscriber numbers keep going up. ❤❤
I live in a small A frame and just yesterday I went around taking down all my pictures off the wall and hanging them in different places . Small changes give your stuff new life ❤
I love your content!! I have a huge bookshelf that I either need to figure out how to decorate or it’s going on Facebook marketplace 🤣 If you ever took submissions, I would certainly submit a pic! You have such an eye that I wish I had!
I just stumbled on your videos and am surprised I wasnt already subscribed ❤️your content! My master bedroom is overwhelming and in desperate need of your eye
I truly do not understand why your channel does not have many more subscribers! Your content is fresh, fun, and achievable. I love it!😊
Maybe one day! Thanks so much Rita : )

Amazing! I know painting can be a pain but it’s so worth it!

the idea with putting some of your stuff (or toys for kids or animals) away and out of sight for a while to then later circle back to it for a renewed sense of discovery and novelty is awesome! i will definitely try to do that intentionally from now on and not just by accident when i stumble upon things i had to put in my cellar room somewhere 😂
LK you are so authentic, practical, & I appreciate your ideas so much!!! (PS: I'm 70 years old and your advice resonates...)

Here's a design dilemma: How would you decorate a space for a renter who can't hang anything on the walls? (no nails, tape, tacks, and no Command Strips either)😞
well it all depends on which space you’re referring to (bedroom, kitchen, etc) and what you want out of that space! :)
@@livingwithlk Living room mostly, then bedroom. Kitchen is small with little wall space. It would mostly be to showcase my goodies and preferably in a way so I can swap out the decor items for an occasional refresh since I bore easily in looking at the same stuff all the time. 😂
@@AlmondJoie I lean art on furniture a lot… and layer it. That can work sometimes
Your style is great and suggestions are really appreciated

Aw, thank you!!
For me, swapping things around isn't even about them looking better in the new arrangement, but just about being different. I get so bored easily. I also have a lot of different throws and bedding i swap around which is fun.
