LK, u have such a chill, easygoing vibe. I could listen to u talk all day long. Your dreamy new bedroom is a million dollar makeover. Curated, upscale, & tranquil. It’s magical. Everything goes so well together that it’s hard to pick a favorite; but if I had to, it would be the elegant drapery wall OR the one-of-a-kind perfume cabinet OR the vibrant framed poppies (small but mighty). Wonderful job! Guaranteed sweet dreams.
RE: not having "matching" bedroom furniture; I think there is a time/place for this. Sometimes cohesion can work out to one's advantage; so glad you trusted your instincts and purchased the dresser as well as the headboard and night stands! Love the final reveal!😊
This room looks so expensive and chic!! You did an amazing job. It looks like you had an interior decorator come in and make it beautiful for you. Well done!!!
I have very different interior design taste but somehow these are my favorite videos to watch. Your attention to detail, how personal your design choices are is so great. Your presence is super calming and sweet. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
@@livingwithlk I’m more into english countryside and colorful eclectic for my home but I’m interested in all types of design. I hope I didn’t seem like I was insulting your style. I love everything you do!
@jessyboedeker1642 no not at all! just curious to hear about what you like :) I love all design too and I think colorful eclectic english countryside is really cool style - i love everything on the house and garden yt channel!
Talent. The curtain solution was ingenious, looks stunning. There is nothing like older furniture. Every piece looks perfect. That dresser that rolls!!! So impressed with Ikea items. It's gorgeous, enjoy it so much, you've made such a statement.
Lovely! Your furniture selection was a HUGE win. I’m a fan of solid furniture - some people think it looks heavy, it I believe it looks heirloom and comfy. Good instincts! Pleated curtains? Total mid-century homage. ❤ You’ve created a deeply personal zone for you and your partner. Thank you for allowing us inside to view it. Sheets and pillow cases are perfection! I’m not a fan of frou-frou girly rooms and those graphics are clean and peaceful additions. Two green pillows are definitely better than the lineup of three. Well done, you clever girl!
OMG. It looks so elevated. It has that MCM feel to it and fits with the Mediterranean style of the house. It also looks calming.. You added texture with all the different surfaces . Good job.
Oh wow!!! I don't know why, but it made me emotional. I love what you did with the space, it feels so intentional, so homey, so clean and soft. Waiting for the right pieces in your budget, being so so so creative, working with your partner to create such a cool space that represents your story.. I mean, it feels so true to who you are and what you love. And I think this is what draws me to you and your channel: it gives me so much joy to see you enjoy your space, and motivates me so much to make my space my own. Congratulations LK on your fantastic makeover, and thank you for all the feels!
Fire extinguisher box is my favorite item. The way you framed and hung the art is spot on. Getting rid of those extra mixed and not matching pieces really opened it up.❤
I really love what you accomplished in this room. The chair corner is my favorite little touch. I was interested in if the cat would have a place to look out the window if the bed moved. I’d say yes.
lol; that was literally my first thought! Cat needs to look out the window...how can she move bed??? Good thing kitty is adaptable. Love the makeover. Will have to share this channel with my 2 daughters.
wow i'm so incredibly obsessed with your DIYs in this video, you have the perfect combination of ingenuity, practicality, and TASTE all while using mostly second hand items, truly inspiring !!
Your room looks so uber cool. Decorating over time can sometimes end up disjointed, but taking a more focused approach has resulted in a haven personal to you. You should be so happy and proud.
Everything about this re-do is spot on, especially the creative fixes that meld everything together. Your new dresser and bed stand furniture gave me good memories of grabbing my shoe box cassette player, shoving in 6 D batteries and listening to songs I recorded off the radio or tv that week while using q-tips and old english furniture oil to detail my parents grand bedroom and living room sets. They were a different pattern but had similar deep cuts and repetitive pattern. It was my private time and I loved making my mom happy with the sweet outcome.
Incredibly amazing transformation. I wish you could come to my small apartment and do the same thing to mine. I love how you think outside the box with the different items. Look forward to the next
That would be fun 😊 Maybe I should do a subscriber submitted series? I have been thinking about this! Would be fun to see all your spaces and give my POV haha
NAILED IT!!! I've watched all of your videos...some of them 2-3 times - and could not agree more with you that the room goes so well with the transformation of your other spaces. Great choices and kudos for reusing existing items to create that incredible space! Loving your channel/content!
Love the curtain wall! This entire room "just vibes so well", as you said and I totally agree. The room's warmth and beauty comes across even when viewed through the smallest video screen, when phone is in portrait and video is just in the top section. Love, love, love perfume closet. Bedside lamps are also brilliant. You simply aced this room!😍🤩💖💖
Loved the idea to stick the poppy pic into the existing frame & pic, & also reusing the fire extinguisher cabinet for storing/displaying perfumes- so cool & unique! At this point, request a 'get to know me' video, with or without viewer questions about your background, how you got to be so handy, the trips you've taken, your partner etc 😊
I'm not really into vintage furniture of this style but this one is actually very beautiful and great choice. Love the hidden draws in the dresser and how you lined them with that beautiful velvet fabric. I love the extinguisher box, you did an amazing job transforming it. Great job over all. Love the curtains and sconces. All your hard work paid off. You're really great at creating such a beautiful space. Thank you for sharing. 👍
My favorite room of all you have done ❤ I am not a fan of buying matched sets of furniture, but that was the look in the mid-century. In this case, I think the matched set is PERFECT!
Omg thank you!! I totally agree and I think this set worked because you don't totally see the whole headboard, and then the side tables and dresser were opposite of each other so it didn't feel heavy on either side of the room. Thanks again!
Long comment: I love this. It’s so personal to you and looks like the perfect place to relax and recharge at the end of the day. I’m glad you made it more comfortable and changed what bothered you. I’ve had a very cluttered bedroom at my last apartment, it became a dumping ground for everything that didn’t have a home. The cluttered chaos always made me feel so stressed, not a good experience at the end of the day. I live in a larger place now and my current bedroom is small but cozy. No clutter! Just plants, books and pretty lighting. It’s much better and still a work in progress to fully make it my own. Question: what are some of your favourite perfumes?
Thanks so much! I truly think smaller spaces are sometimes easier to work with because there's not much room to hide things or store things away haha so I hear ya! I love SO MANY but one I am just getting into right now is Régime des Fleurs -- I got their sample pack and I've been trying on a few every week to see what I like. I am more partial to woody or earthy scents vs. florals or fruity smells. I love something smokey or patchouli based. I do really love Black Orchid by Tom Ford which I think was the first designer perfume I got so long ago that really introduced me to "darker" scents and I've been obsessed ever since!
@@livingwithlk I like scents with some sandalwood in it. My Euphoria from Calvin Klein is nice, I had a free sample and I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do.
Was hoping you’d move the bed to the other wall and smiled when you decided to do that and open up the window! Wonderful how everything fell into place with that one move. Furniture turned out perfectly and yes- the drapery wall- top notch decision! 🎉
The fit of the dressers and bedframe is amazing! The curtain trick to tackle asymmetrical room is brilliant! The metal cabinet is also superb. You did a fantastic job!
I can see why you fell for the mid-century pieces--they're great. Super use of the closet, and I love how personal your wall art is. The room looks so good now--refreshed and spacious and stylish.
It's fabulous, turned out so good! I love all the art and how it's personal to you. The fire extinguisher box is such a unique piece and how you used it was brilliant! My favourite colour is green so love all the green pieces too 💚
This turned out beautifully! Obsessed with the personal touches and art, the genius perfume box, and the custom curtain wall! And the headboard/dresser/table set you found is so stunning- mid century but the dark wood and overall heft of the pieces also fit super well with the Spanish style throughout the rest of your house imo! I think a large piece of art over the bed would make this space extra beautiful, but obviously things like large art take time to find and are expensive too! My rental is almost all thrifted too, so really fun to watch this come together, thanks!
So cool thank you! I totally considered a big art piece over the bed but I didn’t come across something and sometimes I’m worried about it falling or something haha 😬 idk but totally agree that the furniture really meshed with the Spanish vibe and it was just so lucky! Appreciate you taking the time to hang out and comment :) thanks again!
Wish we could give more than one like! Your past self must’ve heard me thinking through the entire beginning of the video: try the other wall!! Do a full wall curtain!! lol It’s really great. I love that your DIYs are very creative, but not flimsy, and not something that just might look good in a photograph for ten seconds but really not great after that. But very nice things you would be proud to have irl on display. That’s the heart to good diy. I also love how you problem solve, especially the kinds of problems and obstacles that most people come up against and finding really feasible ways to work with them. I’m happy you two have such a great room now! I liked it before, don’t think it was awful!
Haha amazing!! Thanks so much 🥰🥰 And I totally agree I think diys should be made to last! It’s definitely hard to find good materials but it works out so well when you can find them cheaply! I so appreciate this comment thank you again 🥰☺️😊
WOW looks like your stepping into another time period with this room (50's or 70's maybe?). Everything came out so beautiful and that little plaid chair is such a great find!
the personal touches are so amazing and special!!! as someone who decorates with mementos and trinkets, I love this makeover! also I was skeptical about the fire extinguisher cabinet but omg it turned out so cool
What an Incredible transformation!!! I thoroughly enjoyed coming along for the whole process! It looks amazing...so homey, collected & just well appointed all the way around! It's what a sanctuary should look & feel like!! I hope you both enjoy it in good health!!
The vibes DEFINITELY transfer! It feels peaceful and calm, and turned out beautifully! I LOOOVE the way you lined up the headboard and sidetables...looks so incredible, and that new big dresser has all the vibes. I had never thought of mixing and matching sheets, but wow what a cool look! I can't wait to check out more of your videos. Just found your channel yesterday, and loving all your ideas. You have great taste and great energy!
@@livingwithlk It's honestly dreamy. May I ask you how do you find inspo and more importantly, how do you start taking action in these kind of projects? I have so many visions but I don't know where to start. Also, here in Chile, the acccess to an actual vintage industry and more variety of furniture, fabrics and hidden gems it's way harder.
@@ignaciodegeyter1 I actually just recently made a video about this! The thumbnail says "START HERE" and I talk about how to get started when you don't know where to start, and how to organize your ideas to get a better vision of what you want.
There's a lot to like. Everything about the curtained wall is lovely. The fire extinguisher cabinet is great, and the same goes for the necklace holder. I love your existing bench. The end result is warm and cozy. The room feels just a touch visually busy (to me). A couple of live green plants in place of some of the many small decorative items is what I would've opted for, but my taste is very Miesian (Less is More). The use of those soft natural green tones in the color palette is very nice.
I just have to tell you I’ve had the worst afternoon!!! And watching you transform your space literally reset my mood💞 Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful effort🙏
I adore your vintage furniture! Looks so great! I just bought a bedroom set from 1950 last Fall. It’s blonde mid century and in great shape. It transformed my room. Love your channel!
First, I never comment on videos. Second, not a big fan of mid century. But oh my god, I am obsessed, the curtains are genius and the decor is fantastic. I've immediately subscribed!
Ugh, I live in NYC and facebook market finds are never in such great condition. I'm always jealous of your finds (especially the chrome!). Excellent job!!!! Stealing the postcard on print layering idea. Love the blue throw added vertically. And LIVINGGG for the fire extinguisher cabinet, omg. And is anyone else obsessed with LK's hair, even when she thinks its frizzy💛
Wow. The new furniture you started with was a risky pick, and it's so cool in the space you designed. I love how it just fit! The curtain wall is the game changer. The accessories you thrifted are just the cream on top. Very well done! I just love it!
Fire extinguisher box ❤❤❤❤ Over the bed, id take pics of nature you took on vacations, sunset/sunrise, whatever you love , do 3 , maybe on wrapped canvas with no frames ❤❤
Soooo glad I found your channel a while back, this was SO GOOD!! The layers, the depth; so styled and yet so lived in and personal - you absolutely killed it. Love seeing your space come to life room by room. Thanks for sharing the process with us. :))
First time caller on your videos -- you did an amazing job turning this bedroom from concept into actuality. The fire extinguisher box is amazing. This isn't at all my normal style but I'm very inspired by your creativity and pattern matching.
Welcome!! 👋 what a fantastic compliment! I really do appreciate good interior design as a whole, and I can connect with the style and layout of a room even if I wouldn't do it in my own home.. so I really appreciate you saying that! : )
Wonderful makeover! The room has a completely different vibe. It felt chaotic and thrown together. Now it feels eclectic in a cohesive way, and very inviting, peaceful and relaxed. I love the little touches like the fire extinguisher cabinet and the art around the room. As a cat lover, there's just something about a cat languishing lazily around the house that makes a house more cozy. The only thing I didn't like was the attempt to elongate the bed with the blue blanket. Not necessary; but having a blanket at the end of the bed always adds a bit of coziness to a room. I really appreciate how your makeover(s) are so relatable to the average person. Esp with the cost of living these days. Your video(s) really demonstrates how with creativity and old fashioned elbow grease, you can have a nice space even on a limited budget. Scratch under the chin for Olive and Rhonda. 😺
I'm new to your channel and I just have to say that I love this room, it feels so cozy, and warm, I couldn't stop thinking about my grandma's ranch house in Mexico with this room, you made my mind travel back to a place were I was so happy ❤✨️
1st x Viewer... so, SO glad I found this episode!!! I've been so overwhelmed with so very much to do in my new 3,000 sq ft home, that was bought last Fall - ugh!! Every room has been getting a makeover, but very slowly. I brought almost no furniture to this new place; had to get all new stuff. I'm 61, unable to drive to shop and I know no one to take me shopping, either. Sometimes my home healthcare workers will pick some small things up. So, I'm still kinda handi-capable, but for the most part, I'm alone in doing most of the work and decorating-which I am just horrible at! I've been feeling so un-inspired and extremely defeated; until now...thank you for uplifting me and giving me a couple of new ideas 😊
that fire extinguisher cabinet is GENUIS 💪
Ah thank you!! I’m so glad it worked out hahah

The full wall of curtains make all of the difference in the world, and makes it look super high end ✨✨✨
You have such a good eye for decorating. It’s awesome to see your vision come to life.❤
Thank you so much!
Loved when you put the nice velvet liner in, then threw the balled up socks in!!! 😊
Such great ideas! Everything looks beautiful!
I’m obsessed!! Before you even finished. Totally my style and I love how you took your time to acquire everything. 🙌
Yay! Thank you!
the personal touches are so amazing and special!!! as someone who decorates with mementos and trinkets, I love this makeover! also I was skeptical about the fire extinguisher cabinet but omg it turned out so cool
It looks incredible and the wall of curtains really made the room look more interesting.
Thanks so much! I think they're my favorite part!
I love *everything* !! It really all pulls together into a cohesive look! The drapes along the wall are * chef's kiss * !
ah thanks so much!
What an Incredible transformation!!! I thoroughly enjoyed coming along for the whole process! It looks amazing...so homey, collected & just well appointed all the way around! It's what a sanctuary should look & feel like!! I hope you both enjoy it in good health!!
Thanks so much this kind comment! : )
Great job
The vibes DEFINITELY transfer! It feels peaceful and calm, and turned out beautifully! I LOOOVE the way you lined up the headboard and sidetables...looks so incredible, and that new big dresser has all the vibes. I had never thought of mixing and matching sheets, but wow what a cool look! I can't wait to check out more of your videos. Just found your channel yesterday, and loving all your ideas. You have great taste and great energy!
Wow, everything works together perfectly. Just beautiful
I honestly think this turned out better than your moodboard. It feels so personal and and original. Congratulations!
Thank you so much! I was honestly thinking the same thing hahah I'm so happy it worked out
@@livingwithlk It's honestly dreamy.
@@livingwithlk muchas gracias!
It turned out great. And the fire extinguisher box is insanely cool!! I love brushed steel.
Thank you!!
Your bedroom is absolutely stunning! Love, love, love!
Step back in time!! True to mid century modern! Great job!! Love it!
Oh that’s awesome! I really do think it’s such a cool statement to have a bed set that’s vintage! Thanks so much 🥰
@@livingwithlkyou really pulled it all together!
First, I never comment on videos. Second, not a big fan of mid century. But oh my god, I am obsessed, the curtains are genius and the decor is fantastic. I've immediately subscribed!
Wow thats such a compliment thank you so much!!
Stunning. Glad you moved the bed to the other wall. Great job.
It looks soooooo good. Everything is perfect and the box for your perfume. What a brilliant idea.
Thank you so much : )
This room is so cool! You did great with all your choices! Love how you are using the fire extinguisher cabinet.
Thanks so much! 😊
You've done an amazing job with your room. Good things come to those who wait! Enjoy your new relaxing vibe! ❤❤❤
And is anyone else obsessed with LK's hair, even when she thinks its frizzy💛
omg i love this comment haha! nyc and LA are so competitive on the apps for secondhand furniture so i feel ya! thanks so much!
Love the curated feel of the room, especially the jewelry stand and perfume cabinet!
Thanks so much!
Wow. The new furniture you started with was a risky pick, and it's so cool in the space you designed. I love how it just fit! The curtain wall is the game changer. The accessories you thrifted are just the cream on top.
Very well done! I just love it!
Thanks so much! 😊
Fire extinguisher box ❤❤❤❤
Over the bed, id take pics of nature you took on vacations, sunset/sunrise, whatever you love , do 3 , maybe on wrapped canvas with no frames ❤❤
Wow!!! Changing the base on the necklace holder. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Such a transformation! Wasn't sure where you were going with the bed set but now I get it ! And the metal cabinet! In luv! ❤️
😊 thank you
Soooo glad I found your channel a while back, this was SO GOOD!! The layers, the depth; so styled and yet so lived in and personal - you absolutely killed it. Love seeing your space come to life room by room. Thanks for sharing the process with us. :))
well thank you so much for hanging out with me!! I so appreciate the support and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! : )
I love your design aesthetic, everything just flows so well together! Enjoy your channel so much!
ah thank you so much!!
Curtain wall...perfect & fire extinguisher shelf...great. love the room. Great job!
Thank you!😊
Looks amazing just goes to show you dont always have to paint and second hand is best, well done❤❤❤
Exactly! Thank you : )
I honestly learn so much and get so inspired by your talking through your process. Thanks.
Love the repurposed fire extinguisher holder.
Another GREAT video! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
I'm new to your channel and I just have to say that I love this room, it feels so cozy, and warm, I couldn't stop thinking about my grandma's ranch house in Mexico with this room, you made my mind travel back to a place were I was so happy ❤✨️
omg a ranch house in mexico sounds amazing! that’s so cool! thanks for sharing :)
That is such a relaxing space. My new inspiration.
Amazing! Thank you so much : )
1st x Viewer... so, SO glad I found this episode!!!
That’s really awesome to hear thank you! Best of luck with your new sf home :)
