  • PART 2 - We take an exhausting, but rewarding excursion to Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. After talking to the locals, we find where they all like to eat.
We took that "Once in a Lifetime" trip to Alaska and decided to take the Cruisetour by Princess. We started in Vancouver and sailed 7 days up to Whittier. Then we traveled for 5 days up to Fairbanks with stops in Denali National Park.
This adventure was truly amazing and we hope you enjoy the videos and encourage you to TAKE THE PLUNGE. Make that reservation!!! You won't regret it.

I’m glad you tackled that hike! I’m usually the one in the back, but I still love hiking

Such a gorgeous hike!! Everything was so green. I wasn't expecting that. Loved all the unique vegetation. Glad Vecna didn't actually show up. 😂 The views from your boat were stunning. Such an amazing trip!

Thank you so much for watching. I am so happy someone found Vecna as funny as I did. Some parts felt like we were in Stranger Things 😂. Stay safe my friend. ❤️

Just found your videos. Thank you! We are booking the same cruise, and an aft room, but on a higher deck. Thoughts? And, I’m taking lots of notes for excursions.

Hi Monica, I am so excited for you!!! Having an aft room was one of the BEST decisions. You will not be disappointed. I wouldn't select an aft room on level 14 or 15 (my opinion). The public balcony is on level 16 and you can see the people on their balconies on floor 14 and 15. There is no privacy. Level 16 has whale watching every evening and into the night so you will hear people above you. I hope this helps you. As for excursions, a lot of people had great whale watching boat trips in Juneau, but we wanted to hike. We had 4 excursions booked and 3 were cancelled the day we boarded, so we had to scramble to find something else. Skagway we had a private boat tour up into Moose country and we SO excited, but it got cancelled so we decided on the White Pass Railroad and had a great time. Everyone does this excursion and I thought it would be too crowded, but it wasn't at all. There are so many railcars that we were spread out. (tip: sit on the left side for great views on the way up and switch to the right side on the way back down). Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blast!!!! ❤️ (sorry for the long response) 😁

@@MileswithMcConkey Thank you very much for your reply! I was so excited to find your videos. I loved them. Your drinks looked so yummy. Of course, the scenery was AMAZING. I was worried about the noise and privacy, so I plan to change our room, but stay in an aft room. We may just book your room. 😂 Thank you! And, I do plan to look closer at your videos and your reply when we start to pick our excursions. This is our first cruise and we’ve never been to Alaska. Thank you again so much for your thoughts and suggestions! Safe travels!

Stupid question, but were you able to avoid mud and water, to not get shoes extremely dirty? Would hate to walk around the cruise ship with mud caked all over.

This is not a stupid question, I wondered the same thing. The trail was a little wet, but no mud got caked all over. I would recommend a hiking shoe, because there was climbing of steps that were wet and could get slippery. The bus brought us back to the downtown area where we walked creek street and got a bite to eat and we never felt dirty or muddy. I hope this helps. It was a great hike. Thanks for watching ❤️
