@@lindsayslivealittle you’re so welcome! I truly mean it too. It’s very hard to find good solid cruise TH-camrs these days. It’s hard to be one myself as I’m only 13 years old. We’re sailing on the bliss may 4th and I think I’ve found the perfect TH-camrs to get me in the mood for my 13th cruise at 13 years old!
Where did you get the rental car through in Juneau? Was it a company or private? And how did you get a car seat for your little one? We are going on NCL Sun in July with our 5 year old
We rented private through Turo. Great experience and they picked us up at the ship. For the car seat, we bought a Pico Portabel Car seat since we travel quite a bit. Fits in a backpack and then we don’t have to pay for car seats when we travel. Highly suggest it as it grows to a booster seat so will also forever! Have an amazing time! Emma & Jack
FYI, b/c you mention in your video Haines actually has the largest concentration of bald eagles in the world. They have a festival in November when they start to gather along the Chilkat River.
We really can’t understand how there are so many. We did a land portion on our first trip and driving from Anchorage to Homer, it was just like the move Birds but all the bald eagles. We will have to check out Haines and the bald eagle festival. Adding it to our list. Emma & Jack
Hi guys! Planning our trip departing 3/28 from Vancouver heading up to Seward! Our first stop is Juneau. Unfortunately we arrive at 2 p.m. and depart at 10 pm. Due to lack of time, i was concerned about seeing as much as we wanted to in Juneau. We really want to make sure we see the Mendenhall glacier and the falls. Would we only have time for that excursion based on our time constraints? Thanks
You will have plenty of time to visit the glacier and waterfalls and probably enjoy some of the shops downtown. On our last visit we rented a car from Turo and went to the glacier. Would suggest looking into that option as you can manage your time better vs a cruise excursion.
I watched your video today after see the prices for excursions. We are traveling May 2025 and there will be 6 ships at port in Juneau the day we are there--where did you rent a car from? I only see car rentals at the airport!!
This episode was from late September. Don’t expect it to snow during the cruise season and where the cruise ship go is a temperate rainforest so snowfall isn’t as high as the rest of Alaska.
That is typical for any ship. I believe we may have had a couple more hours than you but Poppy needed a nap and bed by 7 so we weren’t out the whole time. We have done that itinerary before. It is plenty of time and I think better than the morning time slot.
You can definitely walk to town. If you go with Encore or Bliss it is a little over a mile to town. However where we docked with the Sun it is less than half a mile.
So I was so excited and decided that’s it let’s book the sun for ‘25 except womp womp it’s getting repositioned. Do you know if another similar ship is taking over this same route? At, ya know, similar prices?
We did not see the Northern Lights on that specific trip. May have caught a glimpse on a previous sailing to Alaska in early May but haven’t seen a good display of the lights yet.
So two questions, hope that is ok. 1. Which side of the ship do you recommend for a balcony room while doing the Alaskan cruise, leaving from Seattle. Or with it being a round-trip does it matter. 2. Which section is best for a room Front, middle or back of ship and is it better to be higher up floors or lower floors. Appreciate it
@@JohnnyS-m3f if you start with the inside passage then we would suggest starboard but it doesn’t really matter. And Mid ship on a higher floor would be our reco.
There is always a chance and even chances while in town as bears will come into towns to eat. But if it concerns you, there are several hikes that are well trafficked, very close to town and thus reduces potential of running into a bear accidentally.
If you compared Jack to a cartoon character, that may be the best comment ever. However, there is a dad in Cocomelon that looks just like him and poppy says it every time that dada is on TV.
Had to say hi, and what a great video from a Juneauite…..I live just down from Mendenhall Glacier. I walk to it almost daily. Hope you come back!
That means so much coming from a local! We love visiting Alaska so much we are going back this year with Emma’s family.

There are plenty of taxis. But one note. There are bike rentals where the public bus drops you. But of course that doesn’t work for everyone.

We used the app Turo to rent. You rent directly from the owners of the cars and can work with them to set a pick up point near the ports.
Hi! What dates did you go? Seems no snow

Do you with the Big blue Bus do you need to book ahead of time or can you book in port snd if so where you’d get tickets? Thanks!
You can book when you arrive.

Juneau is about 30 miles long, surrounded by ocean and steep mountains 😂
True! Thanks for watching!
Seven days and counting.

its a ship, not a boat.
I know! Our daughter couldn’t say ship so I am so used to saying boat I mess up sometimes
