You’re the only person I’ve come across who speaks in clear language. I am just about to embark on Prince2. This is a wonderful video for clarification. Thank you so much.
Hey Julia! Ah I’m so happy you found it easy to understand . I’m really trying to make project management more simple! It doesn’t need to be complicated haha
every single video is full of information. 🤩Definitely one million subscribers channel 😍 So humble to be able to access this valuable info for free 🤗 Wish you all the best 😚
This is the best video regarding these certifications that I’ve seen! I’ve been looking into this for a year and just started a project management position, yet it took this long for someone to address this clearly!
I am in the process of transitioning from oil & gas into PM. I have done Agile PM foundation & Practitioner certifications, currently doing Scrum Master, then will do Change Management & lastly PMP. I had to engage a career consultant who advised me on what to do taking into consideration my background & where I wanted to go. This is such an important aspect to consider before venturing into PM, thanks for sharing this at no cost 😁
Thank you Ire for your great work. I agree with you on your perspective on the different certifications. I practice project management in Canada, and I hold both PMP and CSM. These are the certifications mostly required by PM recruiters in Canada. So, it is remarkable to learn from your PM experience in the UK as they can still be applied here in Canada. Great job!
I just done Prince 2 FDN and would recommend people to AVOID. What a load of bull with it expiring every 3 years, might aswell do APM as they are required for chartership anyway
Love your page. Currently in college and realizing I’m not really liking the degree I am going for. After watching a bunch of your videos (and doing my own research) I’m definitely making the switch to PM. Thank you!
I've been a project manager for 6months but worked in project delivery in various industries (IT, Construction & Telecoms) He is my advice, Prince2 is just a tick box for recruitment and often the methodologies are not actually used by companies. But they do help YOU deliver stuff successfully, everyone's management style is different and there isn't really a "correct" way to be a PM. One thing you didn't really speak about is APM it covers both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and the route you can take if you want to become chartered (UK version of PMP) SOME employees will ask for PMP or APM if you are doing government, bank related project delivery. So if your new to project management, I would get prince2 and then whatever your employer wants you too grab.
May I ask how you switched between different industries so effortlessly? I come from a construction management background and tomorrow I will be commencing my first role in PM as a developer-side PM after working as a consulting QS for some time. After binge watching a lot of videos on PM, I’m now seriously considering the possibility of working as a tech PM in the future. Could you please give me some advice on how to prepare myself for the career change? Many thanks!
Hi, I know you made this comment a while ago, but what certification would you recommend to someone who has a legal studies background and a masters in legal technology but wants to break into project management?
Hello! Did you get a response to this question? I have a similar challenge…I have a background in law with a masters in human rights law, hoping to migrate to the humanitarian sector and wish to get certifications in PM. So I’m not sure where to start. Kindly advise if you can. Cheers
there's very few videos about first hand project management experiences. i came here looking for one and your content is great. would be nice to have more such content
This is such a helpful video, it's so easy if you are not in the industry to just do any course without thinking about or knowing which is the best fit. Thanks for breaking this down so so helpful!
You are welcome hun! And yes honestly, and in this cost of living crisis, I really don’t want good people to just be wasting their monies anyhow . Thanks for the support x
Found this video very useful. I was just about ready to dive into Prince2 but you're simple explanation of the differences between Prince2 and Agile has me thinking I might be better with Agile based on how I've seen projects managed more recently. Thanks.
Hi I am currently looking in to project management courses/ certificates and I was wondering if you are taking the course online and if so could you share the name of these website where I can enrole? Thank you :)
I've done both levels of Prince2 and I'm now preparing for the Prince2 Agile exam, which is how I came across this video. I'm new to PM and hoping to start a freelance business doing this in addition to my 9-5. I agree with you about experience though, it's not just the pass that will get you to your goals! 😉
Thank you so much for clarifying my thoughts about PM courses... I going to stsrt with the basic courses on Udemy just to make sure I'm in the right segment of tech skills
USA based PMP here! I’m doing a blog post about PM certifications and didn’t realize how popular Prince2 was. I’m so interested in learning more. Great video 💕
Hey ! And welcome to the channel ! Yes it it but mainly in the UK. There’s lots of videos and info out there on it but If you’re in the US I don’t even think you really need it
Hi Ire Just bumped on your page right now…Great work you are doing I am an architect with a master degree, just moved into UK 3 months ago. I wanted to further as a project manager and was previously stucked as to what certification I should get but you have done enough justice to that already…All thanks to you I would like to ask if you have idea on where I can get more tutorials and informations on Prince2
Hey! Thanks for stopping by! And great that the video was useful 🎉 so there are many of companies that offer prince 2 training at at cost, some off the top of my head are QA and knowledge Academy. However if you want it for free I think you’ll just need to search on TH-cam. I’m sure someone has done something :)
Some good points. To expand on PRINCE2, there is the PRINCE2 AGILE Practitioner. Which is more of a hybrid approach and is excellent for large complex transformation projects, that need to be both adapatable AND controlled.
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. I am just now understanding what project management is and looking to transition from education to PM but finding it hard. I liked the way you explained Agile PM and I am currently doing a course in what Agile PM is all about. Looking forward to more content - thank you again!
Yo Ire! Love your content... Its been posted a while ago but its still relevant. I'm making a move into PM and your videos are 🔥🔥🔥 and helped immensely! Much respect Gurl! Ciao...
I loved this so much! I am looking to step up and really keen to learn about project management. Thank you for your clear and informative video, your teaching style is easy to understand and it's fun to learn from you :) You have earned a new subscriber x
Sure no probs! I think a lot of these certs are becoming a cash grab and really companies value your transferable skills over certs. But there will always be a place for them, so don’t feel discouraged that you’ve done it. It will be a good buzz word in your CV :)
Such a valuable video. I have done MBA in 2015 and have been doing businesses and working as a chauffeur in London now. Studying foundation level of Prince2. What kind of work i should be looking to land myself in as a fresher in London please. Very keen towards the construction side but ultimately wana the most of the money in sector so i don’t miss working as a chauffeur. TIA
Firstly, thank you for the brief. Secondly, I'm a Client Engagement Manager for an IT service provider...the role is similar to SDM and I would like to add another skill to upgrade myself as an SDM. Do you suggest PRINCE or something else as I don't want to be a hard-core project manager...
Hello pitol , I’m so happy to come across your page all the way from Nigeria, I would love to go into PM and acquire a job for myself one day, I’ve been following your page for a while but I don’t know how to sit for those courses, take the PM exam and get a professional PM certificate I’ve been trying to search for good recognized platforms for that but I would love for your assistance and suggestions. Thank you pitol
Hey there ! Depending on how you want to do it, you can either self learn (then do the exam) or get someone to teach you and do your exam (this is usually a package deal) . To purchase the exam as a stand alone you can do that by going directly to the peoplecert. Or if you opt for training. There are many options. I have used QA and learning academy in the past and had a good experience with both . But you should defo explore all options
@@pitolinmotion Thank you so much!, I really appreciate. If I decide to train through self taught is there any recommended way I can get resources for learning, or I can just watch teaching videos or take the Google course? And still get a good chance of passing the exam as a self taught beginner or it’s advised I get someone to teach me? Also the option for the option of the package that comes with the exam and training I don’t really know any as a beginner. I wish I did I’ll definitely check out peoplecert and see how it goes alone and if something I can afford too ive also heard they are really expensive to sit for. And I would love to be prepared the best way so I can pass the exam. Hopefully Thank you pitol
@@pitolinmotion Hey pitol . I just checked the peoplecert and they don’t have some of the exams you mentioned in this video. Like PMP, agile etc esp PMP they have only prince2. Any other options for esp the PMP exam. Thank you pitol
The PMP exam is by pmi, so if you go on the pmi website they will be able to show you the official accreditation body . You need to be eligible to take the exam first. Again all the information is on the pmi website . AgilePM you can do that through apmg international
Hey pitol, thanks for all the different videos you make on PM it is inspiring. i am new to all of it and want to start a career in PM by getting a google project management certification, is the certification worth it because you did not talk about it.
Hey hey, thanks ! I don’t speak on Google cert cos I don’t know much about it haha. In the Uk most firms recognise the main legacy qualifications , Prince2, PMP etc more . So I wouldn’t know if it’s worth it if I’m honest. Sorry !
Hi Ire, thank you for this robust exposition. I wish I have came across this video before I paid for Prince2 and AgilePM. I started with the AgilePM foundation and practioner and I'm currently trying to get my money back for the Prince2 cos what I want to do is Software development projects. I'm currently employed as a Digital and Data Project Manager. Meanwhile do I still need Scrum after doing AgilePM because I see the later is more of DSDM, although I see similarities with Scrum. Just trying to choose an alternative for Prince2 as it seems I may not be able to get my money back. Thanks
Hey! So you don’t ‘need’ any of theses certs. Technically you’re already working as a PM. However if you just want a cert under your belt, I say you just need one cert (unless your company asks otherwise) try to understand what model you are using to deliver project currently. Ask your manager which will be more aligned to what you are delivering too. But yes defo instead of Prince2 I’d say scrum or agilepm is way more aligned to sw dev. I don’t think you need both unless you actually implement scrum at work
I want to start with the CAPM first but there's so many courses to take online, I'm not sure which one is the best. Umedy seems like a good start but even that selections gets confusing at times.
Hi beautiful, thank you so much for these helpful videos. As a black woman, I love seeing woman like me in the tech field. I'm applying to a PM internship as a junior in college and I thought I would ask if you would be able to review my resume for a PM internship? Im currently a junior in college and it would mean so much if an expert like yourself took a look, thank you so much!
Hiya lovely ! And thanks so much . So happy that my videos are helpful. And love to see other black sisters in tech too! And getting into project management! They need more like us for real 🎉 haha I’m defo NOT an expert, but I like to share what I know. I’m more than happy to help review your resume. However I’m currently on holiday in Nigeria and won’t be available until 11th Oct - I donno if that will be too late :( . If not! Great hit me up on IG @pitolinmotion and we can defo set something up !
Hey sure thing, in fact because I don’t want it to get lost in my mailbox, and I defo won’t have the opportunity to look at it until I’m back from holiday, hit me up on the 11th through these emails and you can send it then. This will ensure I don’t forget !
Hey! Just want to say amazing video!! Best video for me on youtube on this topic. My scenario: I have applied to 2 MSc courses, one is called Software Project Management MSc and the other is called Project Management MSc. I have a solid choice of pursuing a career in the software space, so from your explanation, AgilePM is the best choice for me. My dilemma: Software Project Management MSc at Royal Holloway University focuses on the software space ofc, but they take teachings from PRINCE2 methodologies in this course, which is not entirely tailored to the software industry, although they teach the software terminology and market. I think they also include a foundation level of PRINCE2 certificate at no extra cost, not guaranteed. Project Management MSc at the University of Westminster teaches standard project management ofc, not focused on the software space and I have the choice to do a foundation PRINCE2 or foundation AgilePM at no extra cost guaranteed. Now my question is, which do I do? Which is the best option for me to get into the software space? Thank you in advance!
Hey! Thank you for watching my video. Honestly, I can’t give advise on what you should do, that choice is yours, I only provide information to help you make a good choice for yourself. Tbh I think either one will be cool. Project Management is hard to get into regardless of what course you do anyways. So I suggest you just do the one you’ll find most enjoyable and pass with a good mark. On the side if you want to increase your knowledge to focus on some agile methodologies then you can do that also !
Hi Pitol, thanks for the cast. Just to get your input- do you think either of these certifications;prince2 or APMG will support the skills of a Business Analyst? Does it really count as such or it is best for a BA to toll the line of BA certifications rather than inclusive of the PM, knowing that these courses ain't that cheap? What is your perspective, please?
Glad I found you. I’m planning on pushing my BSc educational level to masters degree. I already submitted my credentials to some university in the Uk . Need your help on this; Is it advisable to get a Master degree in project management? Or do some self online study then sit for the exam . TBH I don’t know the industry that fit me yet so am planning on writing Agile methodology exam should in case I build interest on tech along the way .
Hey honey, thanks for the compliment ! But unfortunately no, I don’t do mentoring. I do offer consulting and coaching however. List of all my services and pricing can be found at www.pitolinmotion.con/services x
Hiya. Thanks! And yeah might as well if you can afford it, but tbh if you’re not delivering agile projects… why do agile, and vice versa… unless it’s free
@@pitolinmotion my work have said will pay for it so I’m thinking to just put through both courses. Funnily enough the email I sent was based of this video. So thank you 💯 I work solely with hotels so agile wouldn’t be any good for me currently but I’m just thinking future
@@pitolinmotion Thank you! love your videos, really friendly and professional (perfect combo!). Do you think not having a degree in Project Management will be a hurdle? I have a degree in Digial Media and a Masters in Computing. I'm a Frontend Developer who works in a team that uses Agile. Would it be too much of a jump to learn Prince2 from a digital background? or should I use an agile course as a stepping stone?
Hey I don’t think not having a degree in pm will be a hurdle. I don’t have a degree in pm and I think I’m doing just fine. You need to be able to learn though and understand concepts. If you are the type to pick up things in theory quickly I think prince2 will be fine for you. I suggest doing a cert that’s aligned to the type of project management you would like to do
@@pitolinmotion thanks. It's good to know. With the current situation with AI I'm trying to futureproof my career for aslong as possible. Prince2 would definitely be key to doing that, but with my Agile background I still have mixed feelings.
Hi. I’ve got a question. I’m coming to the end of my time in the military and inevitably going to have to find a new job. I’ll be 30. I’ve got years of management with my troops. Both in and out of the U.K. in nice/not so nice environments. Ive a good understanding in communication as I teach the subject on a regular basis to my team going on certain courses/jobs. I’m thinking project management would be a good route. I’ll be leaving with little qualifications in most areas other than management and leadership qualifications. Management is what I do day to day. I manage people, deployments, specific days, events, peoples careers. It’s fairly dynamic. I think project management would match my skill set I’ve picked up through the military. The forces will provide me to do PRINCE2 before I leave too. What’s your opinion on ex forces moving into project management?
Hiya, I believe you can get into PM from ant occupation. As long as you can clearly communicate how you can leverage your current skills for pm you are on your way. It’s competitive to get in, so just be aware of that. But those that persevere will make it with the right skills and propensity to learn fast
Hiya ! So I’ve never done it myself, but Prince 2 is a solid course. Since more projects are being delivered in an agile way these days , I say it’s probs a good one to give you a taste of both sides of delivery. But once again , would point to what type of projects you think you’ll be delivering first ! 🤗
@@pitolinmotion Ire thank you! I do want to get into tech or construction eventually, but will like to work in the non profit sector. I think Prince 2 would be best for now. I will look into it a bit more. Do you provide help with CVs? I am looking to become a PM have done a tonne of PM task throughout my career but have not worked formally as a PM.
Hey girl! I’m happy to look at your cv briefly, but I think you’ll have to be the last one as so many ppl have asked 😅😅 I’m currently on holiday in Nigeria though, so I won’t be available until Oct 11. Hope that won’t be too late! If it’s not, hit me up on IG @pitolinmotion and we can arrange something 😊. I’ll try to put a cv tips video out soon also :)
Hello Pitol !!! Great video ! I have a few years of experience in the development sector as a project implementer. I intend to go freelancing with research consulting services. What would you suggest ? Going by your explanations, I see PRINCE2 as a valid option. Any suggestions ?
Hey sorry I don’t really give advise, just information at this stage. Plus I’ve never done freelance so not too sure if that would affect anything . Key though is to understand the type of projects you’ll be delivering and if the qualification will be useful
Hi , thanks for your video just have one quick question , if we are delivering the agile projects , is. it okay to skip about prince 2 and go for agile foundation ?
@mohammedanfalshaikh5696 you asked if you do agile projects, can you skip prince 2 and just do agile, my advice would be yes. It’s always best to do both foundation and practitioner. But you have to do foundation first anyways
@@pitolinmotion Thank you so much for your reply I just wanted to know agile APMG certifications are worth it same like prince 2 ? as I have seen prince 2 also have agile foundation and practitioners too , hence need your advice on this
Hiya! Haha honestly there’s no real tips I can give cos the questions are so different. I would say read the question very very carefully and the answers very very carefully. There will be a few tricky answers which will look almost identical. But there will be a subtle difference . So it is very easy to get questions wrong if you don’t pay attention to detail. But apart from that, the time goes fairly quickly. Im dyslexic so I actually get extra time, but even with that, I found that the time went fast😨 don’t get bogged down on questions you don’t know. Leave it and come back to it. All the best with your exam! And let me know how it goes ! 🎉
i gained my MBA past year in healthcare, so in my case if working in hospitals or heathcare the projects that can be delivered may be :. Evaluating compliance to quality practices, infection control practices, safety practices etc. Assessing safety index of hospital building Costing of surgical procedures Cost cutting measures that can be taken in hospital setting Studying mergers and acquisitions in healthcare sector Studying characteristics of start-ups in healthcare area. etc.... what do you suggest as certification? right know i dont have any experience specifically in project but i stuedied this and i have trasnferable skill however probaly maybe i need a PMP?
Hello, I love your video , I’m doing my master in health management , and in some job description there are asking for project management qualifications , is it a good idea for me to take the Google Project Management certification? Is it recognized as Prince 2 ?
Hey thank you!! I wouldn’t know , I haven’t done Google project management certification. But a good way to get an indication is by looking at some job ads and seeing which cert they prefer :)
Hey! So I actually don’t know, I haven’t looked as I’m not looking to do a project management masters course haha however if you go on www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings they rank all the university’s based on a wide range of criteria / subject! Check it out :)
Hi, I am currently looking in to project management courses/ certificates and I was wondering if you are taking the course online and if so could you share the name of these website where I can enrole and get these certificates? Thank you :) For example the 2 popular once Prince 2 and Agile.
I work as an IT Consultant and have recently been brought into a large onboarding project that will onboard and centralise multiple companies into one, this includes centralizing 365 tenancies, SharePoint Migrations etc. All of which cam be done bit by bit, but I also feel this is abit messy, would you advise what you feel would be best to go for in this respect? I am going be working on this for atleast the next 18 months and want to hit the ground from the start with project briefs etc and use this as a good experience exercise alongside actually doing the quals? Thanks
Hey! I don’t advise unless through my consulting services, but think about the delivery style. Although sw based, the overall onboarding process is giving me waterfall vibes. But depends on how you are onboarding. Is it feature based? Agile could be appropriate. If full deployment client by client. Probs best a waterfall type methodology for better control
Hi Pitol! I hope that you’re well. I just wanted to ask, I recently received an offer for a Project Assurance Level 4 apprenticeship with the opportunity of being APM accredited would you say a degree is needed for project management? I’ve also applied for degree apprenticeships also. Thank you!
Hey hey . I would take the apprenticeship if it were me. I don’t think you need a degree tbh experience is far move valuable . Assuming you are doing PM in tech In the UK In other industries and countries it may be different
Hey. If you just want the cert. You can take it through people cert. If you want training too. I’ve used knowledge academy , and QA in the past and I’ve had good experiences
The projects that use the Prince 2 that I have done in the past are too rigid. Agile projects are more iterative and more fun. And ultimately cheaper because nothing is ever set in stone. Prince 2 is better for rigid things like building a house. I don’t know what those things are, I just noticed the difference in my projects
Yerp as highlighted in this video. It depends on the type of delivery. That being said, I’ve seen agile projects also completely waste money due to poor governance, lack of direction and definition of the end goal. Some use it as an excuse to just do what they want for how long they want. And no real value is added. But once again. Ultimately it goes down to the environment. Agile is not appropriate for all projects . Rail, construction, large scale IT transformation programmes, IT infrastructure for example .
@@pitolinmotion the answer to all the question is we are agile 😀😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ Having said that it is cheaper for v the company because change is not as expensive as it is in the order methodologies.
I’m doing prince2 foundation and practitioner , agile foundation and practitioner, SAFe Scrum and Product Owner/Product Manager, Change Management and APM PMQ. Is it worth it?
@pitolinmotion Thanks for your reply .Can you refer me to where I can do the course to prepare me for the Prince 2 course ?After that, I will prepare myself to do the PMP exam
@academiaresearch4345 depending on how you want to learn , knowledge academy and QA offer good training programmes , but there are also many other alternatives you can search for
It would be useful and valuable for me if there were abbreviations, names of programs/certificates written each time there are mentioned in the video and more structure in terms for beginner/for mid-level, cos by the end I was completely lost
Hello pitol please how do you register for the prince2 certification exam I’m from Nigeria so I was wondering if there would be need for a physical class or every thing would be done online Also would it be possible to get links or websites where we could get free project management courses you could maybe do a video on it Thank you.
Hiya! So a number of companies offer the Prince 2 - two are QA and knowledge academy. I’ve used them before and I was happy with the service I got, but shop around as there may be cheaper options. You also have the option of doing class room / virtual classes or self learning. So it’s up to you on how you learn best In regards to the free courses. I have no idea if I’m honest. I can maybe look into it :)
@@pitolinmotion and I agree. I know the technical differences between the two: AgilePM is DSDM based and PMI covers more frameworks but doesn't go in-depth. From your personal experience which would be more suitable for a career switcher, no previous PM experience, based in the UK? Main industries of interest are catering/hospitality, luxury lifestyle services, traditional retail. And even though I'm a total SCRUM fanboy, I don't care for SoftDev and don't have any desire to get DevOps certified. What would you advise?
@@andrewambers9460 hey! I tend not to advise lol, it’s provide options. I’d say, go look at roles you would ideally like to apply for, and see what certification they ask for as preferred :)
@@pitolinmotion no i mean what course do you recommend for government roles? agile or? Also is it worth getting certificate or work experience more valuable?
I have no recommendations, has less to do with what sector. And more to do with what type of projects you are delivering . Works experience is always more valuable
hey hi dear My name is Suresh i have a one question for you is this really compulsory certificate for a fresher student to getting a project manager job in UK because why i am asking this question those certifications are too much cost so that is the reason so i hope you will understand my doubt so can you give me clear information about certifications compulsory or not i am waiting for your answer Thank you ..
Hey there . As an undergrad student your focus should not be on doing additional certifications. You should focus on getting at least a 2.1 in your degree (assuming you study in the UK) - if you are on track for at least a 2.1 or 1st class, then you can apply for graduate PM roles. This is by far the fastest and easiest way to get into PM at that level. They are very competitive as everything in this world. So I would advise trying to get some kind of work experience during summer or even a year placement. It doesn’t have to be in project management, but in some kind of corporate environment. It will help you to stand out in the application process. The certifications are more for post grads, if you are struggling to get a role and need an extra boost. Please note, just because you do the certification doesn’t mean you are guaranteed a role. It is very competitive . Anyone can read and pass an exam, you need to demonstrate that you have the necessary skill set to excel in the role, and the best way you can do this is through early corporate experience . Hope this helps
Hey thanks ! Unfortunately I don’t do mentoring, only consulting and coaching. If you’re interested dm me and Instagram and I can tell you more and let you know the rates etc
This was really insightful, thank you! I live in the US and I'm planning to move to the UK next year. I was considering taking the CAPM exam through the PMI institute. Is this a relevant certification in the UK?
Hey girly! And welcome to this side of life (soon) haha. Yes the CAPM is recognised in the UK, I would just make sure I put ‘(PMI)’ next to it on your CV / Resume. What you could also do for a bit more peace of mind, is to research a few jobs you would ideally like to go for in the UK ( you can find roles on indeed.co.uk, Reed.co.uk, LinkedIn or directly on the company’s website) If you check the job requirements, they will usually tell you what type of qualification they prefer. Although in my opinion it’s just a check box activity for most firms. Hope that helps !
So you don’t have to, there are several options. Ultimately you just need to pass the exam. Some people just buy the manual and learn the content them self. Some people pay for a tutor or a course to teach them, then take the exam. It’s up to you . Obvs the latter is way more expensive
You’re the only person I’ve come across who speaks in clear language. I am just about to embark on Prince2. This is a wonderful video for clarification. Thank you so much.

Cheers
When you say PRINCE, do you mean the foundation level or even practitioner?
there's very few videos about first hand project management experiences. i came here looking for one and your content is great. would be nice to have more such content
Hiyaa thank you 🙌🏾 and there’s lots more content coming out in the new year don’t you worry
I have binge watched like 4 videos so far and these are super helpful. Thank you so much for this information.
🤗🤗🤗
This is really the best video I have seen advising on PM certifications. Well done.
Thank you girly 🤗🤗🎉

Nice and all the best with your Prince2 Agile exam!
@@pitolinmotion thank you.
Hi there … can I ask if you have managed to land a freelance … I am trying to get on the ladder freelance as well … any help would be awesome 😊
Hey..
I don't have any experience, never workers as PM, but what if you do both? Would that boast my CV?
@@ifeatue752 I haven't unfortunately, but it's still one of my goals.

There’s lots of videos and info out there on it but If you’re in the US I don’t even think you really need it
So useful, you just made things clear. Thanks
Thank you for watching 🙌🏾 glad it was helpful 🥰
Hi Ire
Just bumped on your page right now…Great work you are doing
I am an architect with a master degree, just moved into UK 3 months ago. I wanted to further as a project manager and was previously stucked as to what certification I should get but you have done enough justice to that already…All thanks to you
I would like to ask if you have idea on where I can get more tutorials and informations on Prince2
Yerp if it’s able to hit two birds with one stone, then why not !
considering moving into project management and a primer on the different courses was definitely helpful, thanks
Thank you 😊
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. I am just now understanding what project management is and looking to transition from education to PM but finding it hard. I liked the way you explained Agile PM and I am currently doing a course in what Agile PM is all about. Looking forward to more content - thank you again!
Lovely stuff! Np and thanks for watching 🎉
What are your methods of studying?

The proverbial alphabet soup! I have a PMP and wish I watched the video before comitting. PMP certs is becoming a cash grab... Thanks for sharing!
Sure no probs! I think a lot of these certs are becoming a cash grab and really companies value your transferable skills over certs. But there will always be a place for them, so don’t feel discouraged that you’ve done it. It will be a good buzz word in your CV :)
Awesome vid 😁 helped out alot

Such a valuable video. I have done MBA in 2015 and have been doing businesses and working as a chauffeur in London now. Studying foundation level of Prince2. Hey check out my video on entry level project management roles. Those are a few roles you can expect to get as a newbie

I wish I did
I’ll definitely check out peoplecert and see how it goes alone and if something I can afford too ive also heard they are really expensive to sit for. And I would love to be prepared the best way so I can pass the exam. Hopefully
Thank you pitol
@@pitolinmotion Hey pitol . I just checked the peoplecert and they don’t have some of the exams you mentioned in this video. Like PMP, agile etc esp PMP they have only prince2.
Any other options for esp the PMP exam. Thank you pitol
Hey it depends on your learning style, some people are good self learners and others are not, so I can’t really advise on that
The PMP exam is by pmi, so if you go on the pmi website they will be able to show you the official accreditation body . You need to be eligible to take the exam first. Again all the information is on the pmi website . AgilePM you can do that through apmg international
Thanks for the advice it helped me to pass my exams on to the next!
Amazing! Congratulations love to hear it! And all the best with your next one too 🤗
Hey pitol, thanks for all the different videos you make on PM it is inspiring. i am new to all of it and want to start a career in PM by getting a google project management certification, is the certification worth it because you did not talk about it.
Hey hey, thanks ! I don’t speak on Google cert cos I don’t know much about it haha. In the Uk most firms recognise the main legacy qualifications , Prince2, PMP etc more . So I wouldn’t know if it’s worth it if I’m honest. Sorry !
Thank you.

Hey yeah there just so many CAPM is a safe start. Just depends on what you wonna get out of it
I'm A Bahamian watching in the Bahamas. Thank you for this video, greatly appreciated.
No problem ! Hope it helped x

Hey! Just want to say amazing video!! Best video for me on youtube on this topic.
My scenario:
I have applied to 2 MSc courses, one is called Software Project Management MSc and the other is called Project Management MSc.
I have a solid choice of pursuing a career in the software space, so from your explanation, AgilePM is the best choice for me.
My dilemma:
Software Project Management MSc at Royal Holloway University focuses on the software space ofc, but they take teachings from PRINCE2 methodologies in this course, which is not entirely tailored to the software industry, although they teach the software terminology and market.
Personally if you wonna do solely BA, I say focus on doing a BA course
Glad I found you.
I’m planning on pushing my BSc educational level to masters degree. I already submitted my credentials to some university in the Uk . Need your help on this; Is it advisable to get a Master degree in project management? Or do some self online study then sit for the exam .
TBH I don’t know the industry that fit me yet so am planning on writing Agile methodology exam should in case I build interest on tech along the way .
Hey. Sorry I can’t advise on this. I have never done a masters or even studied project management at university level : so I really done know.

Hi, Great video.... I am wanting to jump from web development to Project Management. Who do you recommend doing a AgilePM course with?
I’ve used QA and knowledge academy in the past. Both are good providers
Totally get you, honestly, it’s up to you, I can’t say what’s best for you really!
Great video! Ire I recently came across PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation would you recommend this? It is like two in one?
Hi , thanks for your video just have one quick question , if we are delivering the agile projects , is. it okay to skip about prince 2 and go for agile foundation ?
Yerp, I see no reason why not
@@pitolinmotion but many people advise to go for prince 2 agile foundation and practioner too
@mohammedanfalshaikh5696 you asked if you do agile projects, can you skip prince 2 and just do agile, my advice would be yes. It’s always best to do both foundation and practitioner. But you have to do foundation first anyways
@@pitolinmotion Thank you so much for your reply I just wanted to know agile APMG certifications are worth it same like prince 2 ? as I have seen prince 2 also have agile foundation and practitioners too , hence need your advice on this
@mohammedanfalshaikh5696 personally I think as long as it’s from a professional accreditor, they basically all hold the same weight
Thank you for this video. I'm about to take PRINCE2 practitioner exam any tips?

Studying mergers and acquisitions in healthcare sector
Studying characteristics of start-ups in healthcare area. etc.... what do you suggest as certification? right know i dont have any experience specifically in project but i stuedied this and i have trasnferable skill however probaly maybe i need a PMP?

Hi, I am currently looking in to project management courses/ certificates and I was wondering if you are taking the course online and if so could you share the name of these website where I can enrole and get these certificates? Thank you :) For example the 2 popular once Prince 2 and Agile.
Hey, I usually take my courses with an online instructor. There are so many places you can do it. In the past I have used QA and knowledge academy
@@pitolinmotion thank you so much! ❤️ and it’s in risk consulting btw!
My current role expects me to have a Prince2 certification, any suggestions for legit online websites where I can get my certifications?
Hey. If you just want the cert. You can take it through people cert. If you want training too. I’ve used knowledge academy , and QA in the past and I’ve had good experiences
Hi Pitol, where did you do you get your qualification (whether that was prince 2 or agile)?
Hey both I got from a supplier called QA
@@pitolinmotion the answer to all the question is we are agile 😀😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Having said that it is cheaper for v the company because change is not as expensive as it is in the order methodologies.
Oh there is a big difference between Agile the methodology and being agile. In this video I am speaking on the former which is a formal methodology

You also have the option of doing class room / virtual classes or self learning. So it’s up to you on how you learn best

What about someone that has a Masters in Project Management?
What about them ?
I want to start a career path in IT Project management, would you advise Agile or Prince?
As per the video. Depends on what kinda pming you wonna do
Iam living in Berlin . Please guide me which certification i should go with . Iam a fresher in pm
Hey! As per the video. I don’t advise on what to take. I just provide info for you to make a good decision for you
what do you recommend for government jobs? i.e sc cleared roles
Only if it requires it, but it’s a long process . I used to be sc cleared (my company paid for it) - but now I’m private sector for life
@@pitolinmotion no i mean what course do you recommend for government roles? agile or? Also is it worth getting certificate or work experience more valuable?
I have no recommendations, has less to do with what sector. And more to do with what type of projects you are delivering . Works experience is always more valuable
@@pitolinmotion okay thanks for this
hey hi dear My name is Suresh i have a one question for you is this really compulsory certificate for a fresher student to getting a project manager job in UK because why i am asking this question those certifications are too much cost so that is the reason so i hope you will understand my doubt so can you give me clear information about certifications compulsory or not i am waiting for your answer Thank you ..
Very interesting video... I would like an opportunity to be mentored by you. I currently work as PMO but sometimes I feel lost.
Which platform will I use to learn any of this project management
There are lots of different vendors you can use. I’ve used QA and knowledge academy in the past. No qwarms with them
how long does it take to get Prince2 Foundation under your belt from the start of the program to the finish?
Depends on how far you can learn the content. I didn’t a classroom class and passed after 2 days . If you self learn it will probs take longer
@@pitolinmotion Oh so it is just a test you pay for, not an actual course/program. Got it. Thanks.
So you don’t have to, there are several options. Ultimately you just need to pass the exam. Some people just buy the manual and learn the content them self. Some people pay for a tutor or a course to teach them, then take the exam. It’s up to you . Obvs the latter is way more expensive
