Hello Pitol, I found your channel the night before yesterday. I was preparing for an interview in Project Management, that was held yesterday. I was successful , and was offered the position. I do not have any PM experience, but do have a lot of transferable experience and skills, and a lot of stakeholder engagement from my current role. I’m really pleased and looking forward to it. Thank you for your content and I’m looking forward to exploring it further.
I’m going to say this: I really was on a path to project management and have worked as a project coordinator mostly with some experience managing projects *Also, watch the Project Coordinator role as well, companies are using Coordinators nowadays to Manage projects. I know this isn’t the field for me anymore. I’m in the process of rethinking my entire career at 45. Project Management is not what it use to be. Terms keep evolving and depending on the industry that you work in, Project Management can be very stressful! So please everyone do your research and before you truly go deep in the waters, see if this is a field that you even want to consider. The new Project Management terms that are hot in today’s world are: Agile and Scrum. Agile is more of a mindset on how to get a project completed and Scrum is a framework used to get a project done. But you still have companies operating under Hybrid (combination of Traditional and Agile). Everyone have so many videos on becoming a Project Manager because the pay is very lucrative, but what people aren’t telling you is that people are leaving this field. It can be very very stressful. Especially if you work for large corporations within Automotive, Healthcare, Utility companies, Telecommunications. There can be very long hours, difficult stakeholders/leaders on a project, and at the end of the day, if anything goes wrong during the project or any phase, example you’re testing a new application installation in an Oncology department where they have live patients and the application breaks…but the department still have patients for appointments that day; if the project team can’t get the application back up in time, this could cost you your job. *Rare case but this type of thing does happen. So not discouraging you, but please make sure you have a true passion for project management. At the end of the day, you can obtain all the certifications and get the job and hate it.
Hey thanks for your comment! Totally agree. It’s not for everyone. I’ve done a video on the pros and cons, and the stress, and everything being your fault is defo 2 of the cons. That being said. Project management is evolving and will always be around. Although not in the traditional way. I still think it’s a great career path for those that can hack it :)

I wanted to let you know that you really helped me decide whether Project Management was a potential career for me. In September 2022 I started watching your videos and I even shared them with a friend. I literally went from no job with no PM experience to a Project Admin role 3 months later. It gets better… At the same time I applied for a Project Admin role I applied for a PM grad role to start in 2023. Sis bagged it (by the grace of God) and now I really enjoy what I do. Thank you for being committed to sharing your experiences and encouraging others! May God continue to use you and bless others and in return may you be blessed! 🙌🏾

Hello! I want to say thank you for this video. I am currently in this weird relationship between identity crisis, questioning my competence and potential job ideas. PM was one of these. Your video helped me to understand that I do like ideas of PM and tasks of PM, but ultimately the whole package is not for me. That was really helpful as, to me, ditching something out of my brain also feels like progress. So thanks for that!
I stumbled upon your video yesterday & loved it!! I can’t wait to learn more, wish I had found you 3 yrs ago😂. I got hired as a project manager 🇬🇧 with no experience straight after my MSc & have loved the role. All I had was a PM module in my BSc & MSc 😊 Just been headhunted to another PM role with 2.5x the pay. Self-taught & now preparing to do my APM & PRINCE2 qualifications in May, which will 🚀 my salary. Your videos are so enriching & to the point. Yes, it’s possible to start without experience.
I've been watching your videos preparing for my first PM interview within my company tomorrow!! I've been in recruiting and compliance for 15yrs so I think the skills are transferable. Thank you for all your pointers in your videos! It's a PM role at the credit union I work at so fingers crossed!
Hey doll, I work in recruitment aswell and wanted to ask what were the key transferable skills you put down as I am looking to transition into pm also xx
Thank you very much for this valuable information. I have started taking some project management courses as I am transitioning to a new career. I will definitely focus on building a strong foundation.
your smile again nailed the intro and awesome content for people looking for a PM role in career without any prior experiences. Thanks Creator for this amazing video.
Thank you so much for sharing such important information with us. I'm looking for a role in project management. Can u please share where I can find it in Liverpool, UK??
Hello I like the simplicity of how you explained it though my very first time of hearing about it a friend just shared with me. Can you please do a more detailed video on what PM is about? Thank you. Regards Joy
So glad I stumbled onto this Video so helpful, I see so many video's of male project managers so such a nice change and something more relatable. I've already signed up to a course but I have subscribed for more tips & tricks as I need it.
The issue with being in the roles before the pm role is that once your in thrm roles no1 will give you a chance unless you’re connected. If you can land a pm do it.
I disagree, there are promotions and jumps up from other organisations also. They key really is to work as a pm or at least at a level that you are getting some what end to end experience from your current entry level role and to translate that well on your cv and sell yourself
No problem! Happy it helps, and sure thing! Would love to do that, and perhaps some tips on things to focus on when you first start out in project management. I’ve only been working as a PM for 4 years haha but have moved but I have worked on a lot of projects in that time :) stay tuned! Coming soonish !
@@pitolinmotion Will love you to be my personal tutor in project management. I have done some online courses watching ur tuturial intensively. I feel I need a one on one teacher. How do we go about it? I await your kind response please.
@@pitolinmotion Thank you. I was asked a lot of technical questions. It went well for the most part. I was trusting God. I will let you know if I get it or not. I was catching up on your other videos.
As someone that works in a Project Delivery role these pointers are spot on. Agile and Prince2 courses are good for IT / Tech industry. APMP courses are good for construction industry. But as you say take on the Foundational level of these courses as they are relatively cheaper and give you the basic knowledge. Great video.
Thanks Ade! Glad that you think the video is helpful. And also nice to get some validation from someone else in the project delivery field 🎉🙌🏾. Defo agree with you. It’s super important that you have an understanding of what field / delivery you want to go into and do before you start putting down money for courses! Some courses are really just not appropriate for some types of delivery !
Hey, I presume you’re referring to going into project management in those industries and in that case, sorry but I’m not sure! But for pm courses it’s best to focus on the type of delivery method you’ll be doing in that industry (waterfall / agile) rather than the industry
Very encouraging and helpful for me as I am struggling to deliver a HR speciL project to upgrade the HR information system in government training institution which I also have to deal with various inter government agencies to devolve the centralized payroll system to be managed by the training institution
I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Organizational Leadership and there is an option to get a graduate certificate, one of the options is Project Management. I would love to learn more about what Project Management is, and what kind of tasks they perform. You are so knowledgeable and I know you could make a great video on this!
Hey Marc, I wouldn’t put my cv/ resume out on the internet like that lol , but will do a video on pm cvs soonish. Feel free to hit me up on IG and happy to have a look at yours with you :)

I'm transitioning from working in IT to being a PM, and so your perspective, as you have stated you worked in IT, and transitioned to being a PM, is so valuable. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos!!!! So awesome!
Hey! Happy you enjoyed the videos. Thanks for tuning it 🤗 and just to clarify, I’m a PM working in IT. IT is the industry. So you can work in IT, retail, construction etc and be a project manager 😊
Yes, I'd like to see a PM 101 TH-cam Video, bec. I would be combining My PM skills with My Sr. Legal skills; and, I need to know how the PM genre, overlaps with the Legal field. Yes, I would to see a comprehensive PM 101 video by You. And, You seem so passionate about Your subject matter. How totally refreshing. MRD
Thank you! Glad I found this video. I've been performing project manager duties for years as a social worker and technically never had the "project manager" title. It's all how we word things. Let me go redo my CV. Taking notes.
Question: I've been in business for 20 years, had several types of businesses, also been a director in several fields throughout my careers, I've even sat on non profit boards, so I can definitely "jazz up" my CV to reflect these as projects. 😊 I've taken many projects from inception to completion but do I need to know all the terminology associated with pm to communicate these accomplishments? And do I need to know about all the different software? Thank you for sharing the info,, very helpful 🙏🏾
Hey. It’s is good to use formal project management language as it is the standard across corporate projects. Also not all projects the same. You may find that you have delivered projects. But they have not gone through a formal project management structure. Try to translate your experience into that structure on your CV and nope on the sw. Unless you will be doing a specific sw delivery
Hi Ire, very inspired by every video you put out here. I definitely a fan.I want to career in pm. I need you as a mentor. I really want to get into the space where I am part of a team that solve problems. Please and please , I like you to guide all the way. I watch one video to another. Thanks for being an inspiration to prospective pm students.looking forward to hearing from you and have a great weekend.Collins 20:4820:48
By 4:00, you summed up a confirmation for me. I have diverse technology experience but since I'm probably seeking a new industry I thought I could get in through project management to utilize my diverse skillset. Instead, most employers don't get it and get entirely into the weeds with tools (Jira, MS Project, Monday) or particular process (printed circuit board, test, sw)...it doesn't matter, I get it done. I couldn't convince a guy last week and then just got a call from the president. I'm hoping and thinking that HE gets it, but his lieutenant didn't.
Hey! I hope he gets it too! Sometimes it is hard to prove yourself, but honestly I feel like when it comes to pm tools. You can actually just learn how to use them on TH-cam in 2 days! That shouldn’t be a blocker. As for processes and tech stuff, I guess that depends on how specialised they want that pm. But once again, you can actually learn all of that on the go imo. Anyways, all the best! I hope you get the role 🤞🏾

Ah! I am your 3k like!! Yay! LOL Juts want to say I love your video! I usually pass British videos because some are hard for me to understand, but you are easy to understand! Thank you for that!
Ah that’s great, thank you 🤗🤗🤗
This is brilliant!
I have a wedding florist small business which definitely ticks this box as I have to budget, manage people who will help me and ofcourse timelines, while also communicating with my other vendors like chair deliveries and collection. I just don’t know if I should put my business or side hustle on my CV and how to word it.
Hey, I think it depends on the size and complexity of the business. Wording is critical. If you’re unsure defo sit down with a professional to help you
Good clip am planning going into project management engineering
I wanted to let you know that you really helped me decide whether Project Management was a potential career for me. In September 2022 I started watching your videos and I even shared them with a friend. I literally went from no job with no PM experience to a Project Admin role 3 months later. It gets better… At the same time I applied for a Project Admin role I applied for a PM grad role to start in 2023. Sis bagged it (by the grace of God) and now I really enjoy what I do. Thank you for being committed to sharing your experiences and encouraging others! May God continue to use you and bless others and in return may you be blessed! 🙌🏾
🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 thank you so so much for taking the time to come back and share this beautiful testimony. A huge congratulations on securing your admin role and your graduate role! You’ve done the hard work here, and I’m very proud of you. I wish you the very best in your pm journey !
Amazing! So glad this video has helped you with some career clarity! And I hope you find something more aligned to you soon!
I'm interested in seeing the breakdown you promised. I have no experience but I love to have a career in it.
What breakdown?
“Project management activities “, ya got me!!! IM SOLD!!
😅😅😅😅😅 yesss! Jump on board! Ain’t nothing a bit of good wording can’t fix 😏😏
Amazing ! Thanks for sharing your story! And I think this will be a great encouragement to many others that are hoping to get into PM ✨✨
I've been watching your videos preparing for my first PM interview within my company tomorrow!! I've been in recruiting and compliance for 15yrs so I think the skills are transferable. Thank you for all your pointers in your videos! It's a PM role at the credit union I work at so fingers crossed!
✨✨ all the best with your interview today or yesterday lol ! You’ve got this!
@@pitolinmotion Thank u! It was yesterday and I did my best! Your videos definitely helped sooo much. Thank u again!
Hey doll, I work in recruitment aswell and wanted to ask what were the key transferable skills you put down as I am looking to transition into pm also xx

Hello I like the simplicity of how you explained it though my very first time of hearing about it a friend just shared with me. Can you please do a more detailed video on what PM is about? Thank you.
Regards
Joy
Hey Joy thank you ! And I’ve already done this so just check it out in the project management playlist :)
@@pitolinmotion Thanks for getting back I will definitely do. Cheers!
So glad I stumbled onto this Video so helpful, I see so many video's of male project managers so such a nice change and something more relatable. I've already signed up to a course but I have subscribed for more tips & tricks as I need it.
Amazing! Thanks for watching lovely and subscribing, I appreciate the support 🥰
Thanks for this, I've been looking to switch to PM and this has motivated me😊
🙌🏾🙏🏾
The issue with being in the roles before the pm role is that once your in thrm roles no1 will give you a chance unless you’re connected. If you can land a pm do it.
I disagree, there are promotions and jumps up from other organisations also. They key really is to work as a pm or at least at a level that you are getting some what end to end experience from your current entry level role and to translate that well on your cv and sell yourself
I'm seriously looking for a role. Thanks for this brilliant information. It's such an incredible channel to connect with!
Amazing! Glad this has helped. And thanks so much 🤗🥰
I'm so glad I found you! I will definitely be busy in the upcoming week listening to you. Video liked! You definitely got another subscriber, hun!
Yay! Thanks so much for the support ✨🙌🏾
Thank you for the advice. Would be great to hear your journey/experience and roles that you took to get where you are.
Hey! I offer consulting and coaching at a fee, details about this will be on my ig shortly, so look out for that 😊
I HAVE A TASK FOR JUNIOR PM POSITION TODAY. WISH ME LUCKKKK. SO LUCKY TO FIND THIS VIDEO BEFORE MY ASSIGNMENT!!!!!!

Thank you for this information. I have a PM interview this morning.
Amazing ! Hope the interview goes well ! Keep me updated :)
@@pitolinmotion Thank you. I was asked a lot of technical questions. It went well for the most part. I was trusting God. I will let you know if I get it or not. I was catching up on your other videos.

Please do a video on that.I have just subscribed and liked your video
Already done, check through the PM playlist you should find it and so many others :)
Hello could you please do a more in depth video on what project management is?
Sure thing! I’ve been meaning to do this. Stay locked and I’ll get one on the way within the next month x
Amazing information. You are good at what you deliver. So easy to comprehend. Thank you.
Thank you ☺️
Thank you for the video. I am learning a lot from you.

You’re welcome! Thanks for watching 🙌🏾
I just love your vibe! Thank you for this detailed information.
🤗🎉
This was so so helpful!!! Thank you so much girl
Thank so much honey! Glad the vid was helpful! And haha the passion big defo helps for when it gets rough defo!
What course would be required for those who really food technology and manufacturing
Hey, I presume you’re referring to going into project management in those industries and in that case, sorry but I’m not sure! But for pm courses it’s best to focus on the type of delivery method you’ll be doing in that industry (waterfall / agile) rather than the industry
Literally within the first SECOND I fell in love with your personality ☝🏾subscribe
😅🥰 thank you girly , you the sweetest x
it will be very interesting to break down the various qualifications/certifications please...
Hey. Sorry not an expert on this, but I have done a few videos on courses
Hey lovely! I already have videos on this :) check out the PM playlist for more x
Could you link us with your resume and or template to use as a guide to update ours? Or could you help me fix mine?
Hey Marc, I wouldn’t put my cv/ resume out on the internet like that lol , but will do a video on pm cvs soonish. Feel free to hit me up on IG and happy to have a look at yours with you :)

Hello I don't know anything about pm but I'm interested in it ❤
Well done Ire, you are so awesome in everything that you do in here. Can you please teach more on project execution and monitoring/control with templates? Look forward to hearing from you. Once again, good job.
Hey John , thanks so much! I’m actually creating a course that will cover all of this. Working on it now! So hopefully it will be ready in H2 stay posted !
@@pitolinmotion You are a darling, and i will look forward to have it as im patiently waiting for the video. I'm just transitioning into tech and I will share the testimony with you when I get into the project management role as I'm about to end a project management bootcamp this month.
That’s great news if I’m honest; the course won’t be around for a while, it’s a lot of work, but I am working on it which is good :)

Love this! Love your energy Pitol and your enthusiasm for what you do really came through. I'm reentering the (paid!) workforce after a 4-year career-break raising my two babies and now wanting to upskill and pivot into project management (educational background and prior work experience is in public health and administration). You are such a delight, just watching this put me in a very good mood, i've been a purchasing manager for 3 years, in a small company and now i look forward to switch to bigger companies, and since i didnt study any of this ( i have bachelor's degree in Chemistry), so i'm looking up videos to learn more about my options, i believe that i can actually do this, but step by step as you advised, thank you for this !

Hello Pitol in Motion, your videos are so informative and helpful.
MRD
Hey girl! And thanks for watching: I have done it already, it’s call project management basics part 1 &2 . Hope you enjoy x

Ah 🥺🥺🥺 thank you 🤍
can you please talk about project brief and business case thank you.
Hey. Maybe sometime in future. I’ve got a huge list I’m working through atm
Thank you for the tips
Thank you! Glad I found this video. I've been performing project manager duties for years as a social worker and technically never had the "project manager" title. It's all how we word things. Let me go redo my CV. Taking notes.
🙌🏾✨
Thank you for all the advice 💯💪
🙌🏾
You have done wonders with this video.
😅😅😅 thank you 🎉🎉🙌🏾
Question: I've been in business for 20 years, had several types of businesses, also been a director in several fields throughout my careers, I've even sat on non profit boards, so I can definitely "jazz up" my CV to reflect these as projects.
Thanks for being an inspiration to prospective pm students.looking forward to hearing from you and have a great weekend.Collins 20:48 20:48
Hey thanks for watching the video. Unfortunately I don’t do any type of mentoring , but I hope my videos help you with your pm journey:)
Excellent! Very interesting to watch with super practical tips. Thank you for posting
You are welcome! Hope they really do help 😊
