Welcome back girl 😊 Great video as usual! I had 2 interviews last month, so in preparation, I binged watch your videos and took lots of notes. Guess what…I got not 1 but 2 job offers!!!!! I had really positive feedback, they were impressed. I started my new role as a PM yesterday. Keep doing what you’re doing. God is using you to bless others. Much love ❤️
New to channel but love content. Maybe you can do a vid on impostor syndrome and check list to know you ate ready to take on pm responsibilities aftrt all your studies 👌🏽💯
I am currently doing a PM course, I have no prior experience in tech or PM, I have been glued to your page and I am learning a lot. I know I will finish my course and get a nice job soon.
Thank you for this. I’m currently building up my CV and cover letter for marketing comms program management. This has been very helpful for demonstrating my skillset.
Thank you, excellent video. I work as a Project Support Officer and all off these are so valuable to progress. I'm trying to develop my critical thinking skills; challenging when there are often tight timeframes for a decision.
Thank you for the video, it really helped me a lot by giving me something to think about, I’m thinking of studying to become a project manager but looking at the skills required I am at a deficit 💔. My communication skills is not that great, my organisation skills is not that bad but it does need a lot of work , my relationship skills 💔 but I think My creative thinking skills I can give it a 6 so I’ll try to look into this and once again thank you for this video ❤️
Hey girly ! I wouldn’t be discouraged. These are things you can start to build on quite quickly if you really want to get into project management. So consider it, but if you think it’s not for you. That’s also okay! There is something out there for everyone
Hey! Can you please make a video on what it's like to be an IT Project Manager and your tips for those who want to go down the IT PM path? In terms of what to learn and what certificates it is better to obtain. Thanks for all of your videos, they are extremely helpful
Hey there! So I’m not an IT PM. I work in consumer tech. But honestly most of the tips I give are for all industries . As for certs that is dependant on the type of projects you are delivering. Check out my video on courses
Ah that’s a whole different realm of work. I haven’t done a video on that that’s because there is a module on that in the course that I will be releasing later in the year. So hang tight 🙊
Hey! Great content! I have a question: I will finish my MBA in Aug 2024 and wanted to know, what if the team you are leading contains a slacker (an intern who continually fails to turn in assignments on time, lies about the assigned work, provides work that fails to meet expectations, fails to respond to communications from me)...what do I do in this case? I currently work as internship coordinator and executive assistant for a film production company on a major feature film project due to make big screen next year. I work unpaid (moved from unpaid intern to unpaid position within 4 months, but now make 1 year with the company unpaid) and i feel like that specific social media intern maybe is feeling discouraged from being unpaid and from the heavy workload. I had a meeting with him and the two head producers about it, but he continues to do the same thing. The other 4 interns are doing fine however. I really want to be a Project Manager at a larger company once I graduate and want to know how to help that intern feel like I'm not pressuring him. What should I do to build the team?
Hey! So this is a very multifaceted question lol, and hard to kinda just give advise over comments. I honestly believe thing like this are best resolved through a combination of relationship management and Esculations. The better relationships you have with people. The more they will work for you and you can influence them (how to do this is a completely different essay lol) and failing that. You just gotta snitch to their manager. At the end of the day. You manage the project. Not them and if they are not working towards the objectives of the project. Then … sorry but I’m calling you out !
Love the content!! Keep it coming! I am currently a Systems Manager but i have been doing aome PM work within my role i am thinking of doing Agile PM & Prince 2 Agile, do you think its best to just do the foundation rather than practitioner due to the limit you have the courses valid ?
Thanks :) well you can’t do the practitioner without doing the foundation anyways. I always advise people to do the foundation to start. Courses generally are just a tick box exercise so really unless you need to knowledge of the practitioner in your role. I wouldn’t pay for it. If your work place is paying for it, defo do both
Sometimes it’s about how you communicate it to employers. Perhaps they to reach out to a coach or professional for support if you’re not having much luck
Hi , I am in dilemma whether to go for Ms in project management (from northeastern university )or not . Ppl who have PMP certificate , for them Ms in project management can make any difference?. I have career gap bcz of medical probs .. I am not job getting job response , may be market is down or gap or both . Please give your opinion . Thanks
Hey can’t really comment here as I don’t know. Plus you’re in the us. Personally I don’t think an ms Is more effective than pm certs from a uk perspective
My resume and Linkedin are optimized, I have referrals, experience and my PMP. I have applied for 200 jobs and only have one interview and two recruiter screening calls to show for it. It has been near impossible to get a bite. I'm about to give up and go back to my old industry (public policy, even though I don't wa t to.
Hey sorry you’re having a hard time with securing a role…PM is really competitive at the moment , but I wouldn’t give up. You have an interview, and you only need to smash one to get one job right ? Ensure you are applying for entry level roles as this may be reflective of your experience. And maybe get a professional to look at your CV if you haven’t already. There might be something you haven’t added, or you are not communicating well
