    Your channel is excellent. The video's are top notch, the narration is clear and concise and it is obvious you are a subject matter expert.
    Wow. It is so nice to find such high quality videos.
    I run a small engine repair shop in Arkansas and I am going to check your website out. Even if I end up paying a little more you deserve the business.

    I've been subscribed to your channel for awhile now and my buddy gave me a Ford 100 Garden tractor today. I saw the 120 you've been working on and when my buddy got this one I told him I wanted to buy it. He called today and said come get it because he didn't have time to mess with it. He gave 50 dollars for it. It's all there including the mower deck. I'm going tomorrow to pick it up.

    Hi Norman! Excellent video series! I rebuilt my k241 10hp for my Gravely about 15 years ago, or so. I did not replace the valves or valve guides. (I did not have proper tools at the time.) Now they are very loose. I was kind of hoping this video would address valve guide replacement, boring and/or sleeving. I'm pretty sure I have 2 new guides in my stash from when i did the rebuild. Any advice?

    Thank you Norman! I am restoring a Cub Cadet 100 and these videos are going to be a great guide to taking my K241 apart! Will definitely order your rebuild kit soon. Quick question, what brand of micrometers and gauges do you use? Since I’m on a budget, I will probably have to resort to a set from Harbor Freight.

      I like the anytime tool brand on Amazon. Just make sure it goes to the third decimal and you measure the standard the tool comes with and adjust your zero

    Hey Norman! I am rebuilding my Kohler K181. I have done all the measurements, and everything is within spec except for the crankshaft. My out of round for the crankshaft is .0007. The max is .0005, the same as your engine. What should I do about this? I know nothing about machining. Your help is appreciated.

      You should contact a local machine shop to turn it to .010 undersized. We have listings of machine shops on our website.

    Hi Norman I have a problem with a k321 on a case 224 garden tractor after running it for about ten minutes oil will almost pour out of the head and run like a river down the side of the block any ideas thanks

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet you have gas in your crankcase from a flooding carburetor. Your oil is way too thin from the gas going into it and the level is probably way too high. Pull your dipstick and smell it. Does it smell like gas?

    • @ad356
      @ad356 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i know im a little BUT if that is the case the oil MUST be changed ASAP. gasoline is a solvent not a lubricant. oil that has a high content of gasoline can quickly destroy the rod bearing (small engines dont really have a rod bearing you get the idea though), it can also cause other rapid excessive wear. keeping oil in an engine that has a high content in gasoline is a sure fire way to seriously shorten the engines life and require a rebuild much sooner then normal.

      Way to late to help Matthew but may help others. My K181 had spark and compression and timing had been checked over and over yet still wouldnt fire. I ended up finding the exhaust valve wasn’t closing all the way and I was never getting full compression. Once I got my valves cleaned up and lash correct It fired right up.
