I just updated my a7ii & could not wait to see what inprovments they made. I found the main inprovment was the flexable spot, A nice inprovment, but a little disappointed as it is limited to a small area in the center of the frame.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Normally, I say that I paid a bazillion dollars just to use my camera as an over priced point and shoot. Buuuuuut actually, I can honestly say that I do use the features that are important to me. I shoot aperture priority at 2.8 with the 90 mm lens and I am loving my 42 mp.... Oh... the point.. as I tend to ramble... lol...Really... this is just a big thank you for continuing to share your experience as I have been following your channel and watching/re-watching your videos for awhile and they have helped alot. I will update to that latest firmware Tuesday/Wednesday... Thanks again....

I'm updating firmware as I type this. Had the grip attached and it wouldn't let me start the update until I removed which is weird!
A7rii is an awesome tool! Perhaps next firmware update they release will have a "My Menu" option. Make it so! Boom! Update is done. On to that version 4.0 life!
ive been given a work opportunity to get this camera through my job for 1300USD and any lens (from a selection of like 15, wanting the 85 1.4) I want for 50% price. I currently have a canon 5d mark iv, 50mm 1.2, and 70-200 2.8. i really want to sell some gear and swap over but i want to know if the camera is super slow/sluggish since release like people have claimed. Or if you have opinions of swapping/not swapping.

What i really wanted is for them to add medium raw to the a7rii. Why no medium raw sony? I would buy 1 tomorrow if it had medium raw.
Nice, Only if they would have put a decent port for tethering with those 42 mp's instead they whiffed with their out dated useless Micro usb port. And it seems they blundered again putting it in the A9 and I sure hope they do not screw up once again on any of their newer cameras, specially the A7rIII or what ever it may be. I would have sold all my Canon gear and switched over if it would have had at least usb 3.0. I shoot tethered in studio and location 90% of the time. Where I live clients almost "demand" it. But shooting 42 mp through micro usb 2.0 is kind of like forcing a bowling ball through a straw.
I really want this camera but I've read that an a7iii or even a7riii may come out later this year...should I wait ?
you can get a Japanese model of the A7rII on Ebay. Thats where I got mine. Paid $2195 and no tax. The a7iii prob wont be as good as the a7rii. You could make a judgement call by comparing the a7ii to the a7R. I think i would rather have the A7R over the a7ii.
Hunter dngngksn I dont own any of them. but I do live on youtube lol. I would just get the rii. I actually like the sii for both stills and video. the mark3 will probably cost a grand more and won't have a grand more worth of features

If anyone is wondering, the update makes the camera focus a lot quicker, especially if you update the firmware on the lenses, BUT! If you have a MetaBones adapter for Canon EF lenses with pass through then the Canon lenses work better on the A7 than they do on a Canon 5D mk.IV! :D
No Sony, stop f*cking about and add 10bit video!!!
sony should always offer improvements for there products...... it is not them being nice..its what is expected if they want to be considered a professional camera company ..

VISUAL WRECK depends on if you like canon more than Sony color??? Also in regards to video there's a crop in the 4k video of the mark iv. The a7sii is the best for video but the a7rii is a great photography camera that also can backup with some great video.
VISUAL WRECK if you need a real solid beater camera, DSLR is the way to go. But by no means the A7Rii is bad.
