@@TossSong the reason I was doing the update is because I have been experiencing strange behavior with my camera. When I am filming for over five minutes, sometimes it just stops recording and then the clip is also unreadable. Have you ever heard of this problem before and do you have any suggestions?
Are you using fast enough card? Brand name card?It could be the cause. This is my assumption. I’m using CFexpress cards. Either way, I haven’t experience that particular issue. After the firmware update, still an issue?
@@TossSong thanks for the suggestion. The cards are fine. I have no problem with them in the a7siii. I just did a trial after doing the firmware update, and so far, it seems that it may have worked. Thank you so much for your help!
Glad to hear it’s working fine now. Hope it stays that way. Thanks again. 🙏

Thank you for your comment. Happy this video could help.
after the 2.01 update on a7rv the rmt-p1bt actually is working but stay tuned it has done this before since I bought it in 2019 and used it a little while then it glitched out on me. Have tried it frequently since since I like it for Astro and other tripod work but has not worked until now.
Thank you for your comment. Glad to hear that, since it’s pricey still for a remote. I’m also considering getting one. Do keep us posted.
Thank you sir
Thank you for your comment. Happy this video helped.
📸understandable and very precise, thank you📸
Thank you very much for your comment and for tuning in. I’m glad this could help.
Thank you for the info. You can update it also easily through creator’s app.
Thank you for your comment. I do know it. The reason is that many people using high end Sony alpha still do not care about (or willing to use) Creators’ app. I do have a video on a Canon app that updates Canon cameras wirelessly, but of course it’s not relevant to this update.
…however I would consider it for the next update. Thank you again.
Thank you for being for clear. One question: do I delete the file from the memory card after the update? Or is there no need? Thank you kindly.
Hi, Thank you for your comment. Yes, you can. Or you’ll eventually have to when you format it. Or keep it until then.
I just realized I never updated my Sony 24-105 f4 . Now I have Sony a7RV which I updated the firmware already to 2.01 . I'm using MacBook m1 Sonoma. But the file I downloaded is Update_SEL24105GV2D.dmg file
Thank you for your comment. I assume the lens and the RV are working great.
Thanks a lot for your video, I changed the firmware from 2.0 to 2.01 and result OK, Lense stay at Ver01 U have for Lense Ver.02
Why ?
Thank You
Hi, thank you for tuning in. I just realized that you watched the Camera firmware update. To update the lens, if you have the same lens as mine, you would have to go on the Tamron website for the update. (Or watch my video on that, link below.) Let me know if you have further questions.

I was wondering if anyone had the previous firmware versions, anything before 2.00. My A7RV has never been update so presumuably V1.00 and I was trying to connect the sony vlog grip when it turned off and wouldnt turn on again. The 2.05 update says if updating from 1.00 please disconnect grip before updating but I can't do that so i'm hoping I can put V1.00 or if theres a V1.05 and camera will read it.
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don’t, now I wish I save all that I have updated. I’m sure someone out there, say, in forums may have it; can’t be certain. Would you try contacting Sony support, they might be able to help.
I had no problem with the first update a few months back. I tried this one followed your video, and when I click software update, it says “there is no media inserted in slot. One, there is no update file in the media, or the file is damaged.“ not sure what’s going on. Any suggestions?
Hi, thank you for reaching out. I would try a different card (formatted in camera). Redownload the DAT file. And when you drag it in the card, double check the DAT file is not placed in any folder of the card, but in the root directory of the card (blank space or row). If there’s still problem, try update via the Creators’ app through WIFI. Search for update in the app. Making sure Bluetooth and WIFI are on in the camera.
Let me know how it goes.
Tried two cards. Same with both. Ended up just doing it through the creators app. It worked fine doing it that way. 🤔
Thanks for your videos!
Glad to know that alternatively, using the Creators’ app worked. Just in case someone else having the same experience, so I know to suggest the app way.
trying to update to 2.02 what folder does new firmware go my camera not reconising it
Hi, thank you for reaching out. It should be away from the folders-rather on the outside. Make sure the cable is data transferable. And if anything restart the computer if necessary. Let me know how it goes.
@@TossSong it was a space in the file all my downloads for some reason had this space i removed the space and that was it but i did use the ap to update and this worked well many thanks cheers all
Thank you, I’m glad you got it to work. Different ways to do it and the whole process can be frustrating.
Why didnt you do it via the app?
Thanks for your comment. I know that the Creators’ app can transfer the DAT file wirelessly. I did one video for Canon V10 using their app. However, I feel that there are still people who don’t use the app…yet.
Hi, what is the new ?
Thanks for commenting. There is only one point that I’m happy about, which is the last one. Everything else I have not experienced any issue. I got this from Sony website:
*Fixes an issue where JPEG files could not be enlarged and played
*Fixes an issue where the power may not turn on or turn off even if the Power switch is used
*Fixes an issue where the Switch V/H AF Area feature may not work correctly
*Fixes a Creators' App issue where the Auto Time Correction and Auto Area Adjustment features may turn off
*Improves the operational stability of the camera
Me two also I did not have any issues about these things.
And thanks for your help
Thank you.
not part of the 2.01 notes but Sony added 3rd party battery warning message. It also removes the battery % indicator for non OEM batteries which is annoying.
thanx bro!
Thank you for your comment.
