There is a tech glitch where you can get all of Genis' advanced spells. It's tedious and if you're not careful, you'll mess up and make it take even longer, but it is worth it in my opinion

@alexxb115 You have to use Judgement and Holy Song at least 50 times each. This is the easy way: Usually when you use Holy Song, a "Target" appears above one of your party members' heads (to buff them). If you use Holy Song and you DON'T see "Target", you know for sure she's about to do Holy Judgement (attack AND buff). You can cast, check the spell, and use the guard-to-cancel trick if she is casting normal Holy Song. Usually you'll get it after a few tries. Maybe extra Luck would help too.
GC has Lloyd's MA (Misnamed as "Falcon Crest" while he says "Divine Justice"), Genis' MA (Abyssion and Yggdrasill use it in Mania mode as well), and Colette's MA.
It's a sidequest. You have to get all the Devil Arms first, and then you go to the Temple of Darkness and fight him. After you beat him, you can start using the Devil Arms, which will get stronger with each enemy it kills. Therefore, the Devil Arms can eventually become the strongest weapons you have.
@blitzforthewin The same could be applied for Psi/Omega Tempest as well. Not only can they be used in midair (which makes their range that much better) but they can now link into Rising Falcon too. Rising Falcon is just oh, so much better with Sky Attack, being able to rid oneself of its jump-lag and being able to link techs in midair, which rids SRA of its vulnerable end position (without having to use it 200 times)
abyss is a great game and so is symphonia but what really makes it more difficult in symphonia is that you don't have free run. That makes it more challenging.
This is why I love this game so much, I played it 10 times and beat it and thought I saw and unlocked most of the stuff but I was wrong, I never used any of those supers and never even knew they existed D: makes me want to pick up the game again!
Roman Dass the only other tales game i played was tales of the abyss and tales of symphonia dawn of the new world... ive been wanting to play others... but never have the money at the times i remember hahaha great games though!
@shinlilong sidequests are never locked. besides, if you start getting devil arms after your imprisoned in welgaia, you've got to go back to get the devil's arms after you get the material blades. the cursed book has to be done after you get them anyway. don't forget the summon spirit of molecules, maxwell can only be done after you get them as well. also, the 3rd sword dancer can be done after you get them. in otherwords, more sidequests open up, not less.
IIRC Lloyd's you had to have the Eternal Swordsman title equipped, Material Blades equipped, and you had to be in the "Near Fatal" state (under 15% total HP); to activate it, you'd press the attack, block, and arte buttons simultaneously. Colette's was entirely based on RNG as long as you had 50+ uses of Holy Song and Judgment. Genis' MA you needed to have 50+ uses of Indignation, and he had to be in Over Limit. It would replace Indignation if it was used with those conditions satisfied.
Nebilim is very tough, but everything except her Mystic Artes have a counter to it or something to exploit. The challenge with Abyssion is that there is no real counter and you just have to fight onward
@DracoFlame67 Yeah, Psi tempest could probably bring you clear from one side of the screen to the other. Although, SWA isn't that bad for linking, you can cancel it before the jump by linking it to raining tiger blade of beast sword rain, that's generally been my combo. I'm wondering if rising falcon would be better, you could equip a garnet to make it rising phoenix and up its damage by 1.5x, and it doesn't take as long as raining tiger blade, so you get more damage per second
I've always used this party, but with kratos instead of colette; if you give kratos the concentrate, aerial spell, and landing compound ex-skills, he can become incredibly powerful. Lloyd may beat kratos in raw strength, but he really doesn't get any good compound ex skills
I dunno. He does a lot of damage, but I think his more major point is his MASSIVE amount of HP. The idea, if you can outfight him at all, is to see how long you can do so. And it gets trickier as he starts changing tactics as he takes damage
When I first saw Colette flub the spell (she does it at 1:09) I flipped out because she pretty much rapes the entire battlefield in holy spells when she does this.
@blitzforthewin Also, since Rising Falcon is just one hit, while the Lv. 3 Sword Rains are all many hits each, it will take longer for bosses to go into overlimit too. (hit count is the deciding factor there, not damage)
Yes, this is correct. You see how I was canceling whenever the '1P: Target' appeared above Collette's icon? That indicates she'll be casting Holy Song. If the 1P: Target doesn't appear while casting Holy Song, then she'll use her Mystic Arte and cast Holy Judgement instead.
@yoshi45 this is old but the only way execute indignation judgement is when you have used indignation 50 times *not in same battle all together* and then when genis is in overlimit use indignation and he will use indignation judgement when he is done casting hope i helped :D

@blitzforthewin Not true. Lloyd gets one awesome compund ex-skill: Sky Attack (Ability Plus+Sky Combo) making him able to techs in midair, like Tempest and Rising Falcon. It may not be as amazing as Aerial Spell or Super Blast, but I always love doing Demon Fang-Tiger Blade-Sword Rain Alpha-Rising Falcon.

Haha thats okay, I'm really excited that they're remaking Tos1 and 2 for the PS2, and the best part about it is its the PS2 version of Tos so we'll be able to perform the other character's Hi-Ougi like Kratos' Shining Bind, Zelos' Divine Judgement, Regal's Garen Zeshuugeki, and Presea's Hien Meshoujin!!!!! I'm totally stoked.

I know this is a late reply and you may have already found out, but you can still keep eruption and indignation for T techs and still Learn all the S techs for Genis and still have prism sword, you only need absolute and atlas
It depends, some are overleveled so it does not have such merit. However, some player go the other way around and manage to do no-damage battles with underleveled characters. I have huge respect for the later.
I'm still new to the tales series the only one i've played is abyss, i didn't know symphonia didn't 'cinematic' mystic artes, even indignation didn't have it. I guess the older games were different.

It didn't even take me and my bro this long. I used Raine as a attacker and healed after 75% of our HP was gone. Besides Sheena and Kratos were better to use as front line attackers for me to casts spells without being interrupted.
You generally have to get them in a New Game+ (or farm SUPER MEGA FUCKING HARD in your initial playthrough) in order for them to outdamage their character's strongest weapons. For fucks sake the Kusanagi Blade/Valkyrie Sword's stats were like 1200+ IIRC.

@GunsolKyle You gotta kill some monsters to make them strong, though the attack won't chage, you will feel them a lot more powerful, right now on my 4th save I hit 1900 with Lloyd's Nebilim

Abyssion is the hardest boss in the game and theres certain things u have to find before u fight him If u start lukin around towns late in game and see anythin diff around those towns like NPCS that u usually dun see before, then u can talk to them and events will occcur that can get u those costumes. U find a guy that luks like that evil guy at 0:10 in Flanior late in game and talk to him.
No it wont screw the game up. It's not that hard to do, it's just that you have to follow directions verbatim to get it to work. And of course it takes a bit of time. Search Tales of Symphonia Tech glitch on google and you should find plenty of info
The game won't let you pair "parent" techniques with "child" techniques in immediate succession. For example, if you have Sword Rain as your lv 1 tech during a combo, you would not be able to execute Sword Rain Alpha as your level 2 tech. Similarly with Tiger Blade/Sword Rain Alpha and Raining Tiger Blade.

I think "Indignation" and "Ray" plus "Prism Stars" is the highest damage output the Sages can get in Unisono

me and a friend fought him for nearly 2 hrs with an all divide at lvl 47. 4000 left and he killed the whole team with indignation judgement

@taitaylor86 Judgment and Holy Song used +50 times. It activates randomly by using Holy Song. Or you can use the spell cancel like in the vídeo.

I do, however, the Material blades are both equal in slash and thrust. Plus, I wanted to use Falcon's Crest in this battle.
I never used Symphonia's Hi-Ougi, I only heard/read about them.

It's the Grade shop. You purchase it at the end of the game.

This was the hardest boss in the game. Tales of Symphonia (And any other tales game) is more fun on the harder modes.
